  2. The conections should look like this:

    | 7805 |

    --------

    [] [] []

Looking at the from the top circuit, the left is 9V in, center is ground and and the right is 5V out.

I'd check it with a meter to make sure your getting that 5V before you go replacing.

And make sure you got 9V going in, I've messed up at least 5 PSU by inverting the polarity.

If you have got 9V and your 2600 still don't work then try to replace the regulator.

    My 500th post BTW!!!

  4. Joe, looks like you've got one for the article

This sounds like what happens when the voltage drops when running a 2600 on a 9V battery.

I would also suggest that the problem lies with your power supply. Maybe not delivering enough voltage? and that the modulator starts putting out a weak signal?

The supply has to be 9V 500mA

  5. Yeah, I'm looking at using PHP at Atarinvader because creating and editing so many HTML pages is getting to become a bit of a task.

I didn't know if to create something from scratch with UltraDev or set up and modify PHP Nuke.

I'm new to all this stuff, although I have worked in CGI before, so I thought UltraDev would be a good idea as I'm already using Dreamweaver.

Can I just download a 'upgrade' from Dreamweaver to UltraDev? and how 'user friendly' is it? i.e. are there lots of tutiorials? Can it be used to completely develope a PHP (with Impakt) and MySQL site?

    Sorry for all the questions

  6. Easy on the old boy, I bet he speaks better English than you do Czech.

You can find ROM downloads here under the '2600' section, or you can get them here.

There are places where you can download 'packs' of ROMs, but I can't rember where.

  7. "Dear Joe,

How did I manage to miss this thread?

    Will"

hmmm...shall I okay this section for Atarinvader? I'll say...yes siree.

Stan, if I go down to my basement and find my Jr covered in wet-band aids and jam again there is gonna be trouble. And have you been wearing my sisters shoes?

Aimee, is there any chance that we could patch things up? I know you've been putting it about a bit recently, with all your 'free love' and this...thing...with that beast, but I can forgive you. But, the question is can you forgive me?

Come to Paris with me this weekend, I've got a little penthouse suite over there, oh and a small vineyard on the outskirts. What do you say?

BTW I'm gonna get the next newsletter out soon with the new 'Ask Larry' section...

  8. Your parents gave you a pack of smokes for your 13th Birthday? All I got for mine was a bloody Game Boy...

I wish I was going to CGE or Philly... Anyone wanna buy me a plane ticket?

BTW those of you that are gonna be at Philly should look out for special Atarinvader merchandise that's gonna be given out to some lucky lucky people.

  9. I'm 18 going on 40, born 17/1/84

I also thought that KingAtari was much older than that! and watch out for Aimee, she'll snap your heart in two.

I think that I automaticaly assume that Atari collectors are 30 somethings that live with their mothers and browse teensinpanties.net, like Stan.

Stroxalarb so your 18 female from Australia? Why don't you head on over to off topic and we can talk sometime

  10. This forum should be called eBay moaners not eBay madness.

If there is one thing I hate, its got to be collectors that moan about eBay, how its not fair, how its jacking up the prices, ruining the scene etc etc etc

For a start, you don't get more FAIR than eBay, its an auction. Things go for their straight price, somebody obviously thinks that an iteam is worth the final price!

If you want someone to blame for jacking up prices then you should blame AtariAge or DP for their 'rarity' guides, people treat these things like bibles, especialy eBay buyers (and sellers), and even (so I have heard), some second hand dealers.

eBay is not a tool of evil, its a tool of good and light, helping people to get their hands on carts and hardware that THEY want and can't find anywhere else.

Admitedly there are some crazy auctions just see Disturbing Auctions for proof of that, but please people lets all hold hands, unite as an Atari nation and stop f**king moaning!

  11. TriggerTheHun, I operate a similare system at Atarinvader.com. If either Stan, Osmeriod or KingAtari can beat my BMX Airmaster score at the end of the week, I let them out of my basment to roll around in the mud, or play with the other children. I find the sun does them good.

    It rarely happens though.

  12. This dude is very welcome!

Just try not to inflate Stans ego, otherwise he'll start writing articles correcting every other Atarinvader article that hes not writen... just a'jokin' wid ya Stan.

Nice to see some fresh enthusiasim. I know exactly the feeling of getting a few friends round, few brews and some VCS. Magic

  13. You can do it one of two ways; as mitch said, and set MAME32 to allow joystick selection or you can change around your autoexe.bat so a DOS version of MAME runs straight off from start-up without even opening windows, thats how I do it with the cabinet I'm making at the moment.
