http://www.disturbingauctions.com/ has a whole load of weird auctions, including "a handbag fashioned from an actual bull scrotum"!

Atari's Sunnyvale permises were apparently run by 'dope smoking hippies', and to be honest a lot of games were a bit wacky. A lot of books have long been associated with drug abuse; Alice in Wonderland for example, but why not videogames when it seems glaringly obvious? Just take a look at these games: -Millipede (mushrooms everywhere) -Pac-Man (the dude is eating frickin' pills!) -Joust (WTF is this all about?!???!!) With a lot of the other storys I've heard about what went on at Atari, I wouldn't doubt that they were having a little more than just a smoke 'now and then'...

I used to get up at 5 in the morning to play this game. Wouldn't catch me doing that now, not even for Atari! I think I can get to about level 5, and I'm not the best of gamers....

I also wrote alot of stuff on the backgrounds of most activision games.. whatever you need Well I can put some of the stuff on Atarinvader, and then if you wanna dip in and add or edit stuff you'll be free to. You got a link to all this stuff?

There are other communitys out there that have a completely different ideology. Needless to say I have nothing to do with the aforementioned 'community' any more. They weren't very supportive over Atarinvader.com , none of them wanted to help out. But you guys...you guys are just great....sorry I think I have something in my eye.
-
BTW sorry for being so negative. I just want to say this is not a genarlisation, it applies only to a few, and definetly nobody here.

There are a lot of 2600 collectors out there that just seem to take themselves too seriously. When I first opened up Atarinvader I got called a "inbred brother of an eBay seller" by a well known group of UK collectors (you know who you are), because the site had an on-line shop for me to get rid of a few of my duplicate carts. Apparently this isn't the 'done thing'. We'll I say screw you to those that think that. Like I'm gonna make a profit on about 5 carts. Idiots. Luckily idiots like this seem to be too up their own arses to post on AA...phewww... Am I the only person that seems to find these type of people that can rattle of every Atari release date, programmer and rarity for every cart ever, and not have a laugh about it and admit to being a geek?

Thats what I was thinking, this way he can do as much or as little as he likes. Maintaining a website is sometimes a hassle you could do without.
-
I've found it on Morpheus, but its 'remotely queing' and I only have a 56k modem so it'll probably take a while.
-
These dudes are the coolest! Albert and Alex put in a lot of effort to the site, and it shows. The cart database is huge, which is true dedication.

I'm really gonna have to try and track down some of these MST3K!
-
Well Liquid, the reason I asked was because I was gonna stick one on Atarinvader. Osmeriod has offered to help out, maybe even moderate a section. So would you like to help out? That way you'd be able to dip in and out when you feel like it, rather than feeling bogged down with it all. Could I use what you've already got as a starter? Take all the scores you've already collected?
-
Is there currently a decent list of Atari 2600 top scores, either modern or from back in the day?
-
We got so much planed ain't we Stan...

Atarinvader.com is back and better than ever. You can now access it only through either http://www.atarinvader.com or http://atarinvader.com. The site should be alot faster loading than it was before, and a lot more reliable. I've also added a few new features, including: -Site search -Radio -Merchandise store And Stan and Larry have been working extremly hard on several new articles and reviews. Thanks guys ! And thanks to all you kind AtariAge people for your support of the site. I hope you'll continue to enjoy and use the site! Feedback is very welcome.
-
I'd have to say 'Moon Patrol'... Is there an archive of 2600 game midis or some way of extracting them from a ROM? I'm doing something special with them for the site!
-
Internationial shipping is $7.00 for the first item and $4.00 for each additional item. And I think (not certain) you can pay with PayPal or cheque.

-
Now available from here! We've got everything from underpants to mousemats...and all the profit is going to make Atarinvader.com better for you guys.
-
Or you could try UK eBay. You should be able to find all those games that are listed on there. BTW whats the state of collecting in Australia? 'cuz I'm heading over for 6 months soon.
-
I've never been a big fan of those 'feedback forums'. I think it will be a seperate section for users to post their reviews and comments, but it will be searchable. I'm still having host problems. I may ask if classicgaming.com will host us. Is there anyone here that could put us up?
-
quote: Originally posted by King Atari: That sounds interesting. Will people be able to review games already reviewed, or is it one per game? I'm not sure yet...it maybe a seperate 'user reviews section'. What do you and Stan think?
-
Thanks dude, I'll look forward to reading them.
