I misread a 2600 game listing earlier on Facebook and wondered how the game Bowling Combat would work.

OOOoooh, I can picture it! It'd be like Dodgeball, but with bonus points for hitting the pins instead of just injuring opponents! You could have circular islands on the screen containing extra balls, and maybe some small maze pieces. Other than that, knock down opponents AND pins, and hit other balls to throw them off course so you don't get taken out. Damn I wish I knew how to code! ATTN: PACMANPLUS, THOMAS JENTZSCH, ANDREW DAVIE, or DARREL SPICE, or someone else...Free BEER if you get this done!! (Everyone reading this comment will pitch in!)

Kinda liking "Resident Alien".

Since I last flew, I've had titanium implants in my neck, my right knee, then my left knee. Will be interesting next week when I fly.

I have titanium implants in both ears-I actually have two cards I keep in my wallet, one for each, and they are "passes", so to speak, I believe my Doc said they *might* help me out, but not guaranteed.
Had cholesteotomas in both ears, they burst open, their enzymes "melted" my ear bones, ugh.
Still, the implant itself isn't a "structure", it's a "machine"(a "bell", with a pin that hits it), so I insist that I am bionic!!!
(Not too concerned with ID theft[could only help my credit...], and I don't think there's anything too revealing here).

Haha, yes, @BigO -
I had hearing difficulty my whole life, but the problem actually really surfaced when I was playing guitar with a Friend one day, got dizzy and tried to stand up and just fell over, my equilibrium was shot.
So it was almost, but not quite, "emergency surgery", the enzymes were gonna eat their way into my brain(my left cochlea had to be "patched"), which would have really sucked, I suspect, but yes, it destroyed my ossicles in both ears, was odd to have it bilaterally, at the same time, but is how it happened.
Yes, it's like a tiny cone, with a needle inside that vibrates, and I guess it emulates the vibrations one would get from real ear bones-TBH, I really don't notice ANY difference whatsoever, I just "don't hear that well", never did, never will, the titanium replacements are perfectly fine really, I CAN hear.
I just don't like to listen.
(Kidding).

Galagon arrived. Hope to get some quality time with it later today.
-
Thanks for the support, I hope you enjoy it! If you do and feel inspired, please consider leaving a review in the AA store, we developers love that sort of stuff. Have fun!

I'm not particularly good at it. And I wasn't a Galaga player in the arcades. I liked playing the WIP, and was really impressed by the visuals achieved on the 2600, so it really was almost as much about supporting the homebrewers as it was a love of the game.
On the other hand, I wouldn't buy a game I didn't like just to support the cause. I mean, I'll buy multiple boxes of Thin Mints, but I'm not spending good money on those nasty coconut things.

Just noticed that Galagon is now available without the $15 box. As promised, it's on order. $50 was just too much for me.
Is the full ROM available to put on my Harmony? -
My immune system can beat up your virus, thankfully. Not a pleasant time to be sure, but not the sickest either of us have ever felt. Over it now. Overall, we're feeling blessed.

Had it not been for several co-workers with similar symptoms, and with timelines slightly ahead of mine testing positive at various labs, I would have learned toward the false positive theory.
While it wasn't the worst I've felt in my life, it was the worst I've felt in at least 30 years. I just don't ever feel sick. So, it was definitely something unusual.

Honestly, this is the type of outcome I suspected I'd have if I ever got it. But I have to admit that the timing, immediately following the non-trivial trauma and invasion of knee-replacement surgery did have me a bit concerned.
Surgery Monday. Covid Wednesday. It was apparently incubating but undetectable via the pre-op PCR test Friday at 5:30 PM.
Thankfully, i didn't share it with any of the surgical team or post-op care team.
-
If you were thinking of getting Covid-19 an undetectably short time prior to knee replacement, don't. Just sayin'.
-
Per the "no news is good news" notification method, I'm negative for covid. Now just have to get up early tomorrow, then take about a two hour nap, then work through months of serious pain. Then, I'll have matching unicompartmental knee prostheses and relatively little pain.
I hope my borgification then ceases expansion, at least for a few years.
-
If not for cleaning my office before I take time off for surgery, I wonder when I would dump the emergency supply of ketchup packets from my desk drawer.
-
It's the little things...
I'm scheduled to go in for a partial knee replacement soon. I had the same procedure on my other knee earlier this year. When adding the event to my Outlook calendar, it struck me as funny when I noted the "make recurring" option.

The 25 year old Maytag Neptune washer lives to wash another day. $130 for the part, but that's a lot better than buying a new washer...and of course a matching dryer would be necessary. I hear the new machines sacrifice effectiveness in the name of "efficiency".

"conutarglations": a badly mangled spelling I saw today that I think should be an actual word. I'm just not sure what it should mean.

Browsing and posting from Raspbian on an RPi 3B for the first time.
Suffice it to say that I'm not an early adopter. -
A little Vectrex Rockaroids action this afternoon.

Social distancing is my default setting.

I started out the craziness already on medical leave after a knee replacement. Then the crazy started the first week. After two weeks, I'm back to work but was instructed not to go to the plant. Now my state is on "stay-at-home" orders. Fortunately, I work in an essential industry so I still have a job. Working from home suits me. Now I only go out for physical therapy twice a week. I don't like that I can't easily go out for lunch, though. I just realized something...I think I miss french fries more than I miss people.
-
Off to get some more internal titanium and plastic body mods installed tomorrow. Neck last June, right knee now, left knee as soon as possible after that. Lower back when I can't stand it any more. Old sucks.
I'm definitely paying for TSA pre-check when I can travel again.

Survived spinal decompression neurosurgery.

So...a "blow dry bar" is a thing. At least it is in Scottsdale.
