      If I were ever to get up the gumption and have the time to fiddle with 2600 programming, I'd try to make a version of SI that used the paddle control, allowed multiple shots and moved at a faster pace somehow. TwitchSI?

      800K 3.5 disks on the IIgs seem so very very slow....

      I love the tape load times. It usually reminds me to get up and go grab a sandwich and drink. It helps to influence exercise AND nutrition. Of course if the first load fails, then I get a bit irritated.

    Bad news: knee surgery will require at least a couple of days on the couch. Good news: hooked up the 2600 to the 60" Sharp Aquos and it works pretty well. That "Game" A/V mode reduces lag significantly.

      At first, Kaboom was entirely unplayable until I tried the Game A/V mode. I imagine Kaboom is the gold standard when testing for lag.

      Colors are a little wonky, but I'm demodulating RF to composite through a little old GE tuner box that I have, so that might be the cause.

    Corrupting an 8 year old with my classic systems and pinball machine.

      Over the course of about 5 games of pinball, she went from ~1000 points and barely able to hit the ball to 30,000 -- trapping the ball with the flippers and hitting selected targets.
