  1. It wasn't directed at anyone in particular. I just thought the video clip was funny
  2. Does anyone think it would be a good idea if Atari or Jakks Pacific made a plug & play TV game with some of Atari's older arcade games built into it? I think Digital Eclipse did a very good job with the arcade version of Warlords on the Atari paddle game. Maybe they could do the same with some of these: http://archive.gamespy.com/top10/february0...ri/index2.shtml http://www.digitaleclipse.com/products/Gam...duct.asp?ID=116
  3. I think products like the Atari 13 in 1 paddle games are the way for these TV games to go. A few classic console games with a couple of perfectly emulated arcade games thrown in for good measure and the option of one or two joysticks or paddles. Can you imagine a collection of console games with arcade perfect versions of Defender, Pac Man, Centipede or Tempest built in? They would sell like hot cakes at a hot cake convention.
  4. Perhaps we should show them this anti piracy video The IT Crowd anti piracy video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bB8VETHSwRA
  5. I think Martin Brennan's right about the future of video games: Quote Martin Brennan "You can then focus on book writers and artists for ground breaking content. The imagination will become the premium. I think it'll move completely away from technology into artistry."

Bad Daddy! My advice to all parents, buy your children Atari products. It's the gift you can share
  8. Stills yes. it will not do that at 60FPS. That is a lot of data to move. It's a shame Atari didn't give the Jaguar a bit more power. It would have been nice to see some of these higher resolutions in a game. Would something like 512 x 384 be more practical? Some of Atari's older games were using it back in the 1980's.
  9. Just out of curiosity, was the Atari 800 multistandard (PAL/NTSC/SECAM)? I get the impression that if the Flashback 3 is a mini 800 then it might be NTSC only.
  10. A DVD player with a built in Atari ST, TT or Falcon, kind of like a modern version of a laser disc game. All the games could be stored on DVD rom and use images on the DVD to create jpeg background images. It could also be used as a regular DVD player.
  11. I think the difference between old games and new games is that old games were all about about simple challenges, a bit like playing a traditional board game, whereas new games are more like simulations where the graphics are sometimes more impressive than the gameplay. Saying that, modern interpretations of classic games such as Tempest 2000 or Pac Man Championship show that simple ideas can be all the more enjoyable using modern hardware, in fact I wouldn't be surprised if the future of gaming will be a surreal combination of traditional gameplay combined with hi-definition graphics.
  12. Would this OKI sound chip be any good? http://www.oki.com/en/press/2006/z06036e.html There's a good list of sound chips here: http://www.xs4all.nl/~ganswijk/chipdir/f/sound.htm
  13. Quick question! Do the graphics on a Nintendo Wii suffer from jagged edges or stair casing when used with a conventional TV or do the jaggies only show up when screenshots are displayed on a PC monitor? Thanks Matt
  14. Could the player slide out of control when you move over missed bananas?
  15. Great link Zerosquare I was wondering if the Jaguar could produce dvd quality graphics? Looks like it probably could.
  16. Could the Jaguar do 720x480 pixels in widescreen like an NTSC dvd player would?
  17. I've been reading an article about how the Jaguar can produce graphics of up to 800x600 pixels but most of the screenshots I've seen only show games using about 320x200 pixels? Did anyone ever make any games, demo's or pictures using the high resolution mode? Thanks Matt
  18. I think the November promotion is for High School Musical inc Microphone and Super Mario Galaxy.
  19. This thread is just for wishful thinking though the next Flashback has been mentioned in another thread.
