I found this article about the most underrated video games ever made. Maybe we could start a list of out own. http://www.supanet.com/games/games_galleri.../1/gallery.html

What's the best old PC game? I really liked the Oddworld series myself.

Regarding the emulation vs hardware argument, I don't think emulation is as good as real hardware, though it's a great way of auditioning games before spending your hard earnt cash on them.

Hypothetical Atari/Commodore/Apple 8 bit question!

I'd use a Commodore 64 so they could use the "destroy him my robots" sound sample from Impossible Mission. -

Bioshock for the 2600. I wonder how compares to the Xbox 360 version -
I think it's normal to get bored of something after a while. One of things that keeps me interested in Atari is the anticipation of getting something new, whether it's a game, some new hardware or a Flashback console. I expect that once someone has everything they want, the anticipation starts to wear off. It's only a matter of time until it comes back though. Absence makes the heart grow fonder...

The gold plated 2600 looks interesting.

Can you load a game into the 130XE ? If you can hear sound coming through then it might just be a video problem.

Transfer the money to your bank account then cancel the direct debit/transfer agreement at the bank so they can't take the money back out of your account.

Y'know, I feel really bitter about this Gameport portable. I can't help thinking that someone there has been watching this forum and decided to cash in on the Flashback phenomenon. The thing that really disappoints me though, is that they've forced Curt and Atari to keep quiet about new Atari products. This is a real shame, as discussing the new consoles was one of the best things about this forum.

Isn't she Lassie from Porky's -
Does anyone have a screenshot of the mandlebrot screen?

I think the advanced follow up system will almost certainly be the 800/5200 sytem that's already been mentioned in other forum topics. A number of us have already discussed how an 800 computer with games and educational software could be hughly successful for Atari. An 800 computer would also be difficult to emulate on the GPX portable due to the lack of keyboard. A trakball equipped 5200 would also be difficult to emulate. Whatever it is, I hope it's PAL/NTSC compatible. Not just because I live in the UK, but also because a multi-standard computer would be more economical for Atari to make than 2 separate versions for different countries.

...or it could be....Nano Lynx !!!

atari 5200 special edition centipede/missle command

I thought the Flashback 3 would have been something like that. -
The more I think about this 'advanced folllow-up system', the more I think it could be a 7800 or omni computer. It's the 'modern gaming arena' console that puzzles me. The most modern consoles that Atari have made are the Jaguar and Lynx. It couldn't be, could it?

This is a long shot, but maybe this Archaeology magazine could help. http://www.archaeology.org/ -

I know I would. I love this conspiracy stuff. -
I just tried playing Dragonfire on the modified 2600 Jr I've got, and noticed that the grey castle towers on level one don't appear but all the other coloured towers on levels 2,3,4 etc do?

The introduction of the GPX2 might make Atari consider a hybrid Flashback 3 that is 2600/5200/7800/800XL compatible? BTW Curt once mentioned an Atari prototype called Omni that could run games from different systems.

Arcade Dropzone sounds good.

Was this the infamous eBay sale when the buyer told Paypal he didn't receive the computer and got his money back from Curt?

Glad it worked out ravenxau. I think that moving the wire on pin 6 to one of the pins next to it might make it brighter.
