  1. The 260ST had 256k and (I think?) TOS on a floppy disk. http://www.atarimuseum.com/computers/16bits/atari260st.html
  2. Let's hope that a future Flashback console puts right this terrible wrong!
  3. I just bought the 2 player version for £10/$20 in the UK. The arcade version of Warlords was a great idea.
  4. I bought some speaker components from a company in the U.S a few months ago who delivered using FedEx. They got here in just over a week. The only downside (from a customers point of view) is that FedEx bill the customer in the U.K for import tax. On the plus side, the seller has some proof from a reputable company that the item was delivered.
  5. The Lynx sounds pretty impressive, even by todays standards. It's a shame the resolution is so low. Anyone know about the legality of using Lynx games on an emulator? I know that 2600 games can be downloaded, but wasn't sure if the Lynx games were still protected by copyright.
  6. No, that's just an old wives tale. When plastic yellows, its not a build up that can be removed, scraped off, or bleached out. Its a chemical process that happens as plastic ages. I wondered if there was any truth in it. I suppose that some tooth whitening toothpastes might have a bleaching effect?
  7. Thanks mimo If I was to use an emulator in full screen mode, would there be much difference? I think that the 7800 has a higher resolution than the Lynx, but the Lynx is more powerful.
  8. I've read that whitening toothpaste can sometimes cleanup yellowed plastic. It might be a good idea to test it on something else first, just in case there's an unexpected reaction, like all day minty freshness Was the computer case originally painted or made from coloured plastic?
  9. Has anybody had the chance to compare Atari 7800 games with Atari Lynx games? Is there much difference?
  10. Rule #1 Yamo can only attack the NinjaRule #2 Ninja can only attack Yamo Bruce must live! BTW My version crashes about half way through the game.
  11. The TIA sounds like a very versatile chip. I suppose that if Atari made an 2600 running at 2.38mhz (instead of 1.19mhz) it could produce 320 horizontal pixels per line
  12. I think the next Nintendo will just be a hi-def version of the Wii console with an upscaling chip and hdmi socket. Some of the Wii owners who buy hdmi TV's will probably sell their existing Wii and upgrade to the new console, creating a second hand console market that will attract new owners. After this, the Wii will probably evolve into a new system, just like the Gamecube evolved into the Wii.
  13. The comment was more to do with it being a built in/standard feature, as opposed to a separate peripheral. Even the 16/32 bit computers didn't have built in modems.
  14. Building a modem into a home computer as a standard feature seems like a very 'forward thinking' thing to do, and this was maybe ten years before the internet.
  15. Yes, I was thinking along those lines too. Yeah, we could play three player Bruce Lee online! Can I be the big green ninja
  16. I feel really bad about this (being British). I always leave postive feedback for sellers. Anyone who doesn't is just plain lazy, or ungrateful!
  17. It's an easy mistake to make. Somebody's selling a PAL compatible Lynx on eBay. I think some people assume that portable's are regional, in the same way that consoles are.
  18. Is it worth increasing the speed of the 4mhz cpu while keeping the the video and sound chips running at 16mhz? I'd imagine that games would run more smoothly, but at the same speed.
