I wouldn't be surprised if the Wii 2 (Wii Too) is just a Wii with a HDMI socket and hi-def upscaling.

Hi. I've been reading about the recording studio feature in Guitar Hero World Tour and was wondering if the songs created by players can be saved to a memory card as MP3 files? Thanks Matt

Just out of curiosity, would a CPU running at twice the normal speed give you twice the horizontal resolution?

Flashback Portable VS GamePort ?
Math You replied to netmoe's topic in AtGames Flashback and Portable Consoles
That's like asking if a 2600 clone can be released legally. And we all know the answer to that one. The biggest hurdle would be acquiring the rights to ROMs. Potentially ROMs could be licensed from third parties like Activision. (Who, as I recall, owns much of the GOOD third party library including IMagic's titles.) Perhaps Activision would be interested in funding the FB portable project? -
Flashback Portable VS GamePort ?
Math You replied to netmoe's topic in AtGames Flashback and Portable Consoles
Hopefully, they'll release the FB portable without Atari's blessing. It would be nice to have the Atari logo on it, but it's not really necessary. -
That's not a bad thing. They look more authentic without it.

I was reading that the iPhone uses a 32bit ARM chip running at 420mhz, so maybe a 32bit TT running at the same speed could run similar applications i.e internet, java, mp3 etc. BTW Does anyone one know if the Falcon's graphics chip could be re-configured to create higher resolutions than 640 x 480?

Comprehensive Atari Jaguar Timeline. (1991-2008)

Maybe they put the remaining 200,000 Tempest cartridges in another landfill. It's the Atari way -
This was mentioned in another thread. Sounds like a great idea Personally, I'd love to see an sd card or usb slot, MP3 playback and the ability to display jpeg/gif images behind the 5200/800's graphics. It might encourage some new games to be written for it.

I notice they mentioned Rescue on Fractalus even though Lucasfilm hadn't finished writing it. Maybe somebody else will one day (take a hint homebrew community )

There's an online Apple IIGS emulator for anyone who doesn't have a real Apple II (or an Atari!). Press F8 to togggle the mouse lock. http://www.virtualapple.org/zanygolfdisk.html

Atari's Landfill Adventures, I now have the proof it's true.
Math You replied to Spud's topic in Atari 2600
Y'know, a chunk of landfill concrete with Atari cartridges and hardware sticking out of it would make an interesting piece of modern art -
I'd be tempted to buy a Sega console. Trouble is, Sega have an 'Arcade' image that wouldn't appeal to everyone.

I don't think the Wii is quite as next-gen as the PS3 or Xbox 360, though it is the product of some very clever thinking. While the PS3 and Xbox 360 compete against each other in the hi-definition market, the Wii has created a market all of it's own. -
Awesome new Nintendo video on You Tube

This looks really good! Just goes to show that old school side scrolling games can still be fun. Can't wait to see a Jaguar version -
I think they might use different frequencies:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SECAM#SECAM_varieties

I had a similar experience a few months ago when I bought a 7800. The console was shipped with the cartridges, power supply and joypads placed on top of the console with no bubble wrap or padding to stop them moving against each other. Fortunately, nothing was damaged and the metal strip on top of the console still had the protective cellaphane on it. Phew! BTW Don't think too bad of the British. I always send fragile items in boxes filled with bubble wrap or newspaper

Bear in mind that the composite signal uses the French SECAM system so you'll need a multi-standard TV if composite is your only option. The RGB signal should work with PAL or SECAM tv's. Have you actually been able to get a composite picture out of it? I thought I had traced it out at one point and it was only composite sync. Mitch The picture on my portable colour TV was in black and white (and cyan?) so I assumed it was a composite signal. I found this diagram of the 7800 & ST 13 pin socket. Looks like composite isn't connected:http://musepat.club.fr/atari78.htm

Fortunately I'm not stuck with the composite video. I didn't even realize it was there. What I had in mind was a composite video mod of the stock PAL machine. The RGB video is nice....... on a classic CRT TV. For some reason, it's a lot worse on my LCD with a TV tuner. Just found that out on my SECAM Colecovision, it really does not like my LCD tv despite the spec for the TV stating that it accepts SECAM and RGB (and a lot of other stuff) Long live the CRT television You might need to select SECAM or RGB from the TV's menu.

Did you select the "component video" output from the DVD players picture menu? It might be trying to output composite through the component cables.

The USB joystick looks great I love this "new retro" stuff, it's good for Atari's image too. Just wondering, would it be possible to have 2 Mame compatible fire buttons underneath the joystick that could be pressed by the players index and middle finger? Just an idea
