What's the latest Atari related thing(s) you've bought on ebay?
Math You replied to Ross PK's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
A double guitar -
Found a few pics on another thread

Mine has a square port on the back but there's nothing in it???
-
Just out of interest, how do the graphics compare on the 5200 and 7800? Don't they both have the same screen resolution?
-
I guess the closest thing we'll ever get to a classic console is if Curt & Legacy Engineering make one. I remember reading on an old thread how Atari planned on making a computer called the 'Omni' that could run all Atari's 8 bit games (except the Lynx). It would make a great Flashback type of product, though I doubt Atari would be interested in making it. Maybe Awesome Arcades would make one?

Apples new friendship with Sega suggests that rumours of an Apple console might be true. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qzUtMUXTBM...feature=related I wouldn't be surprised if the games will only be available as downloads, kind of like iTunes.

There's a Tegra video here: http://blogs.guardian.co.uk/technology/200...ile_market.html One article says that finished products which use the Tegra chip will cost between $200-$250. Would that be too much for a classic console?

Newer vesions of the 7800 were supplied with a joypad. It's not bad!
-
A super fast Atari TT could probably emulate most classic systems including some arcade games from the early 80's. The real question is would an emulator be successful or even legal. Selling a system that relies on other manufacturers ROM data might be seen as encouraging software piracy.

Looking to get my 1st 7800... what to look for?
Math You replied to tremoloman2006's topic in Atari 7800
I just bought a 7800 from France with an RGB scart cable and I love it! Just for reference, the Atari 2600 version of Activisions Robot Tank and Space Shuttle doesn't work on my PAL/Secam 7800 -
Probably Spider Fighter.

Single player games on the way out, says Phil Harrison

I think he's got the right idea about creating embedded communities, I mean, just look how popular the Atari Age forum is -
Actually, that's a really good idea. They certainly have the business sense to make the Atari brand successful.

Can a low cost game system exist today?
Math You replied to Mazerati's topic in Classic Console Discussion
A fast Atari Jaguar with an upscale chip might do well. An innovative controller would also add to the appeal, just as the wiimote has done for the Nintendo Wii. -
what do you want the FB3 to be?
Math You replied to gamer1682's topic in AtGames Flashback and Portable Consoles
I want the FB3 to be a DS sized miniature laptop with a USB connection, SD card slot, midi sequencer software...and maybe a vocoder. -
What would a 100% original and unopened 7800 be worth?
Math You replied to 82-T/A's topic in Atari 7800
Can we see a picture of the sealed 7800? Pleeeaaase -
Question - FB2 Portable?
Math You replied to Curt Vendel's topic in AtGames Flashback and Portable Consoles
I didn't buy one because they never made a PAL version I hope that future versions are multi standard. I know it means more work for the designers, but it's worth it in the long term as multistandard console can be sold anywhere in the world. -
So is Microprose owned by Curt or Legacy Engineering? http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/darklands/message/8791

You can find it here: http://www.freewebs.com/derbian/lv-426/

Those 256 colour pictures are really impressive

I'd like a 5200/800XL hybrid with a usb socket in a DS style case. ...and I reckon that Atari should start selling the original Flashback 2 chip to TV manufacturers so it could be built into LCD and plasma TV's as well as set top tuners. -
Atari's Landfill Adventures, I now have the proof it's true.
Math You replied to Spud's topic in Atari 2600
There's too much evidence to let this thread die, including an incredibly clear photo of Jack Tramiel at the landfill
