Mine has a square port on the back but there's nothing in it???

Just out of interest, how do the graphics compare on the 5200 and 7800? Don't they both have the same screen resolution?
-
I guess the closest thing we'll ever get to a classic console is if Curt & Legacy Engineering make one.
I remember reading on an old thread how Atari planned on making a computer called the 'Omni' that could run all Atari's 8 bit games (except the Lynx).
It would make a great Flashback type of product, though I doubt Atari would be interested in making it. Maybe Awesome Arcades would make one?

Apples new friendship with Sega suggests that rumours of an Apple console might be true.

I wouldn't be surprised if the games will only be available as downloads, kind of like iTunes.

There's a Tegra video here:
http://blogs.guardian.co.uk/technology/200...ile_market.html
One article says that finished products which use the Tegra chip will cost between $200-$250. Would that be too much for a classic console?

Newer vesions of the 7800 were supplied with a joypad. It's not bad!

A super fast Atari TT could probably emulate most classic systems including some arcade games from the early 80's.
The real question is would an emulator be successful or even legal. Selling a system that relies on other manufacturers ROM data might be seen as encouraging software piracy.

I just bought a 7800 from France with an RGB scart cable and I love it!
Just for reference, the Atari 2600 version of Activisions Robot Tank and Space Shuttle doesn't work on my PAL/Secam 7800

-
Probably Spider Fighter.

I think he's got the right idea about creating embedded communities, I mean, just look how popular the Atari Age forum is

-
Actually, that's a really good idea. They certainly have the business sense to make the Atari brand successful. My personal fantasy would be for Apple to buy the Atari name and assets and release a console with an Atari nameplate.

A fast Atari Jaguar with an upscale chip might do well. An innovative controller would also add to the appeal, just as the wiimote has done for the Nintendo Wii.i was thinking today with the cost of the new game systems like the360 and psx3 being so high if a cheap alternative game system could exist
in today's market?

I want the FB3 to be a DS sized miniature laptop with a USB connection, SD card slot, midi sequencer software...and maybe a vocoder.
-
Can we see a picture of the sealed 7800? Pleeeaaase

-
I didn't buy one because they never made a PAL versionI did not buy any fb2's when they came out, mainly because I did not know that they were actual atari 2600's.
I hope that future versions are multi standard. I know it means more work for the designers, but it's worth it in the long term as multistandard console can be sold anywhere in the world.

So is Microprose owned by Curt or Legacy Engineering?

Is there any way to transfer files from a Wii to a PC or Mac using the USB port?
-
-
I'd love to see MAME or Stella on the Wii.

I'd like a 5200/800XL hybrid with a usb socket in a DS style case.
...and I reckon that Atari should start selling the original Flashback 2 chip to TV manufacturers so it could be built into LCD and plasma TV's as well as set top tuners.

What's the latest Atari related thing(s) you've bought on ebay?
