The blue playstationey-looking column view is actually a big improvement over what was there before. But yeah, still awful.

When I click on an item, I expect it to be selected. Instead it scrolls to it. THEN you can select it. That's just one issue.

Use the arrow keys and the X and Z keys. X is select, Z is go back. Or a SNES-type controller where A is forward and B is back. That should be on a splash screen and everywhere else, it's not well documented and very counter-intuitive until you've done it a few times.
