has anyone gotten a parallel port printer from the 1980s to work on Windows or Linux?

  I haven't used parallel printers under Windows in a long time, but it's generally pretty easy in Linux to get at least basic line printer functionality.

  I sometimes use a Panasonic KX-P1124 dot matrix printer on a Windows XP machine with a parallel port. Works great.
