I feel a little bit bad if I don't finish a game I paid for. It's like I have let that tiny investment in entertainment go to waste. However, I have beaten some games. Let me do a rough list of games I can think I have beaten off of hand, in reverse chronological game release(rough) order.

    Fallout 4(all DLC)
    Dishonored 1(no DLC)
GTA 5(the only GTA I beat)
    Skyrim

Saints Row 4(not proud of this)
    Saints Row 3
    Deus Ex: Human Revolution
    RAGE
    Mass Effect 1
    Mass Effect 2
    Mass Effect 3
    Borderlands 2
    Borderlands
    Lego Batman - high percentage
Lego Star Wars(all but episode 7) - high percentage
    Lego Indiana Jones
Lego Harry Potter (first years) - high percentage
    Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel
    Fallout: New Vegas(all DLC)
    Falout 3:(all DLC)
    Fallout Tactics
    Fallout 2
    Fallout 1
Crash & Burn(all golds except Detroit track)
    Deus Ex: Invisible War
    Deus Ex
    Crime Wave

And there's others, but I honestly can't think of them right now.

Now I don't feel so bad for not finishing XYZ game, for I have beaten others.

When I'm at work, there are times I can't use my computer(but it's still working). So I get to doodle out ideas.

Today was a pinball machine called "Wastelanders". It's inspired from the numerous Mad Max copy movies made back in the day of post-apocalyptic nostalgia.

    Elements:

    1. Marauders = the typical bad guys in the wasteland. They have motorbikes, ragged clothes & are general antagonists.
    2. "The Order" - not unlike The Authority in Rage, Enclave in Fallout, Omega in "Warrior of the Lost World". A reformd government that is also an antagonist.
    3. You. The good guy

Add a pinball playfield(which I doodled already), and wallah. Done. 1 and 2 have their own logos. You need logos.

Backglass: a road/horizon perspective(1st person). bad guy on motorbike on left, "The Order" car on right. Tower in center that is The Order's headquarters.

If only were 1987 this would be a marketable pinball game. Stern would never make this.

So I record about 10 minutes into my podcast, only to have Audacity replace it with some failed recording test I made. Dammit. I worked hard on those 10 minutes of mostly filler content. How am I ever going to get this podcast off the ground? But I'm going to keep trying. Mark my word, I will make the absolute worst retro gaming-flavored podcast EVAR. That's going to be difficult since there's a lot of bad ones out there.

Don't try to work on 3 podcast episodes at once. You can, but you shouldn't. You will be in editing purgatory. Things could potentially bleed into each other. Last night, I made good on my own word to work on the next CCG episode. I made some progress, but not through the whole way. But I'm getting there.

While the 2015 poddies isn't due for a while, there's a mountain of editing & cropping audio I have to do. When you're doing an episode that celebrates retro gaming/computing/pinball podcasts, you want to have audio clips from said podcasts in it. This involves downloading the episode, listening to it all of it & writing down timestamps of what you want. This has grown so far, I need a spreadsheet to track everything.

I was even working in the garage, listening to casts, where I have to pause the 'cast. Why? Grabbed something good. Quickly wrote down the podcast name, episode & timestamp & resume playing. Just about at my dropbox storage limit.

Might be asking for some additional help for the 2015 poddies, as it can be a short episode. The fun stuff around it makes up the meat & potaoes of it, such as award acceptance speeches & general feedback.

As for the 3rd episode I'm working on? That's a surprise.

    Hmm..

Several years ago, I chained some days off around Christmas time to give myself 9 days in a row off. Sadly, I wasted it. I took naps and just played Skyrim. That was it. Nobody to hang out with, nobody new to meet, no social activity. Nothing. In retrospect, it felt like 9 whole days were just wasted where I could have done something much more fulfilling.

So, I decided to change that for this year. Instead of sitting around the house, where everybody is busy with everyone else, I thought. "Hmm, how about fulfill a bucket list item?" My inner introvert told me to go to a place that does not celebrate Christmas.

Japan doesn't Celebrate christmas. It's more like Valentine's day there, or families go eat KFC. What a perfect destination! I love Japan, having visited it before in 2008. The only downside is I chose the most humid week ever to go. Not this time. The weather's a bit warmer in Japan than in Minnesota. My hotel will be in Akihabara, where you die and go to electronics shopping heaven. There's also a small side trip where I get to see Mount Fuji and take the bullet train back.

Part of me still wants to take a small day trip to Osaka to see what the fuss is all about.

The important thing is, that I won't be sitting around the house taking naps. I'll be on the other side of the world with a ton of things to do & see.
