  1. I can probably reach it. Lo and behold, the minute I leave Retrocore running and I walk off for a cig, some japanese girls in a shower footage show, prompting a coworker to quickly shut off my big screen tv player. Heh. Won't be playing them at work anymore!
  2. Interesting! I knew the TI-99/4A had only a fraction of the total Infocom games. Infocom's engine for the TI = awesome. Blew away the Scott Adams games.
  3. Yes, AllGen Gamers has indeed gone through a transformation. There's some good coin-op talk in this latest episode.
  4. A new podcast has entered the ring! Wasted Seconds - A casual podcast not unlike the MondCoolCast. It lives up to its name, as I couldn't make it through a single inconsistently-numbered episode. Oh well. D- I really need to update my iTunes more often. I sync on Sunday and sometimes get up to 11 podcasts to listen to the next day at work(or during the weekend when I'm doing yard work).
  5. I still have no idea why I bought a loose Entombed for 10 dollars.
  6. /skepticism mode on Let's build another Ford Model T! Sure, it won't have that fuddy-duddyness of safety standards, compatibility with modern electronics, or performance & reliability of modern cars, but Ford Model T enthusiasts will love it! Not trying to rain on anybody's parade, but the only thing that would sound unique about this "new" atari computer, is that it has the name Atari on it. Once you start talking about USB & such, it quickly goes back to the homogenized PC we know today.
  7. It's rather annoying to see it on several forums, with zero substance. I also remember a cryptic "It's coming" thread on OOPA that went nowhere. And actually, there's way more activity on this board, as in atariage as a whole, compared to other gaming forums I've seen. I don't believe it's more significant than bringing out an old console out of the closet and playing it again. At least that has substance & clarity to it.
  8. Weird. It's like an exact replica of this site. That site even has an s1500 posting the same things I'm posting, at the exact same times!
  9. But it's the Amiga/Commodore argument again. Things are different now than what they were 30 years ago. You could take any 'ol processor, slap some controls + video chip on it and call it a Coleco/Atari/Intellivision, etc. It won't matter what the name is. It's what's inside that counts. Trying to make a brand new video game console, ie going up against the big players is like trying to start a car company & going up against Ford. You might make a niche car here or there(spyker, Tesla, etc), but you aren't going to see hundreds or thousands of them on the road. Anybody could take an existing China-made game console(portable or whatever), slap the name "ColecoVision" on it, but would you want it?
  10. With a stressful work week(testing software), I just ran into a bad glitch playing Dark Void, a Capcom game that I bought on clearance. This game has parts where you have to do careful jumping down cliffs, and apparently you have to do the same one a second time(or it really looks like the first). You die? Too bad, you have to do the whole thing over again with some aliens to kill. Then as I was trying the 2nd cliff for the 2nd time, the game glitches really badly. I'm getting audio, but the frame rate is like 1 per 8 seconds. Pausing & un-pausing the game didn't help. This gears-of-war ripoff game inspired me to do something: 1. Take CD out of Xbox 2. Put CD back in case 3. Throw case in garbage. Screw it. I'm not going to try again. Not going to go on gamefaqs. Not going to wonder why the patch didn't solve it. I'm just going to throw it out. Have you ever just got outright frustrated & tossed the game into the can?
  11. Did they update their emulator? Last time, half of my games, including GhostBlaster didn't render properly... for graphics and sounds. I'll have to give it a try and get back to you. Look on the bright side. The Dingoo emulator for ColecoVision runs 100 times better than MESS's version. That thing didn't play 30% of the games I threw at it! You would have more accurate emulation writing "colecovision" on a cardboard box and hooking that up to a TV.
  12. I just use my Dingoo(WITHOUT Dingux) and I'm in happy emulator Colecovision land. There was a website recently that had quite a few .rom files for download.
  13. Wait, how do we not bump posts? Serious business. I tweaked my profile.
  14. In SS1, I got stuck in the ship hangar, where I was honestly stumped on what to do next. I bought SS2, but sadly, lost interest in playing it after getting to the radioactive monkeys. I regret not being able to find my CD of it.
  15. I would recommend giving it a once over & removing all the un-needed bells & whistles on the main page. Look at the thread about Best Electronics. The same opinions can apply also to 99er.net. Also, many of the links to other sites(and some internal) don't work anymore. Sure, that happens with many sites on the interewebs, but it seems to be above average on 99er.
  16. I just tried the Vic20 part of MESS to load up a game cartridge. It didn't work. VICE worked. What does MESS actually emulate? I'm getting skeptical at this point.
  17. You're right. I don't like to consider 99er.net to be the be-all-end-all TI info site, since frankly, the site looks like someone's myspace. A lot of it hasn't been updated in years, and the download section is rather bureaucratic.
  18. Life's too short to be worried about pixels on a screen. It's better than seeing Atari Joe slash fanfiction on the site. And if it's there, one does not have to read it.
  19. Thats kind of what I thought too. Here's the problem with that explanation: the website is called "www.atari7800.com", which could mislead someone into thinking that it's an officially sanctioned site. B I don't think so. Unless we were having this discussion in the year 1986. Mind you, there's more classic Atari content on atari7800.com than atari.com itself.
  20. I love how even his kookball rants even bleed into just the item title. Why do I have a feeling if you win his auction you end up getting a box shipped to you with someone's head?
  21. Just checked my mailbox, and lo and behold. It's here. Complete with DVD. Of course I get it after hittin' the complaint button.
  22. I signed up for this and NEVER got my magazine. Estimate was August 22, and that time passed with nothing but the usual mail(ie junkmail) in my mailbox. I already reported it on Amazon. Thankfully, Amazon had a feature setup to bitch about never getting your mag, so this could be common. Maybe it was too good to be true.
  23. Is anyone getting a trojan warning/attempt from Microsoft Security Essentials when they go to GNET radio's website? I get it on one of their pages consistently.
