  1. That ebay auction reminds me of The Onion's "Ask an xxx" advice columns, where the answers have nothing to do with the questions. Q: What condition is the Sonic the HEdgehog comic? A: I SSCORED BEST ON PSYCHOLLICAL TOESTS SINCE 1982! Q: How many issues are there total for the Sonic series? A; I AM JAY KOOKBAL. MY SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER IS 234423423 AND I AM BEING HARASSED BY THE BANANA KING. THIS IS alegally enforcing contract united states of amerifa Q: Hey DUMBASS, you think you are going to charge for shipping? yer stupid A: I will pay for shipping for the buyer. UPS priority Mail. Thanks and good bidding.
  2. I loved it in the arcades. Mystified as to why it was never released on the Jaguar. Was it too good of a game for that console? Heh
  3. Doesn't best also have a yet-to-be-explained limit of 2 cart connectors for Flashback 2s?
  4. Here's the site I'm talking about: http://www.hrodc.com/
  5. I wish I could find the site again, but there was some legal advice(I think it was that) site in the UK where the main page was literally 1 MEG of pure HTML(mostly text). They literally jammed all of the content into the main page. Any link you clicked on took you to another page that was a meg. Just walls of text everywhere. It was the webification of that guy who just kept talking & talking long after people stopped listening. I sent an email to give some constructive criticism, and got an automated reply full of text. It's funny to see such clueless websites.
  6. It is copyrighted. HEH Copyright © 2002 Best Electronics Wait, there's NO online ordering? The year is 2010. Surely in our capitalist society there would be off-the-shelf web applications that would make creating an online store a no-brainer. What, is the website being run on an Atari 65XE? Wonder if there's some volunteer effort they would accept to spruce up their website. Just no gaudy backgrounds like on atari7800.com.
  7. Wow that site reeks of geocities. It just needs an "under construction" or "Chris Farley dancing at Chippendales" animated GIF.
  8. I think it's being blown up too much. One person's website saying that isn't going to bring the huge atari 7800 mindshare & opinion(now celebrating it's 12th member!) down. I personally think it's funny. It's not like there hasn't ever been swearing in video games, regardless of generations(from pong to the modern consoles).
  9. Trying to make custom filters in MAME, at least for me accomplishes just one thing: showing 0 results. What I want to do is combine year + originals. How would one do that?
  10. Shouldn't we be due for another Retrogaming Roundup podcast yet?
  11. I don't see how anyone could get physically sick over it. It's an inanimate object. It's not animal poaching or murder. It's not like it is the only 2600 in the world. Don't let the hobby take over your life.
  12. You gotta invite us GridCyclers over to enjoy your game room sometime.

  13. Okay, I admit, I didn't like the Webkins segment either. It just didn't seem to go with the podcast in general. But that's just my opinion. New kid on the block: All Gen Gamers - Started on the 2nd episode. Several youTubers get together & make a podcast. The 2nd episode is all things TurboGrafx. Very informative & detailed, without getting all Retronautsy on your ass. I recommend this one. B+ This is my "pick of the week", if there ever was one.
  14. It really would have helped if there were captions to the games. It's not easily apparent on all of them.
  15. There's some game that was recently made for Windows, that I completely forgot about. It's a side-scrolling platform shooter(like Mega Man) that is EXTREMELY Low rez. It's not unlike Bit Trip Beat. Anyone know what the name is offhand?
  16. Okay mr 8000 friends, where's this Atari podcast you promised us? We want a podcast!

  17. With the great reviewing of everyone for audio podcasts, what about the video portion? With a computer at work that needs some video files to be displayed at all times(reason: boredom), I thought I would download & play video podcasts of retro gaming all day. The challenge: No Youtube. Going for sites with downloadable videos. I don't have the URLs handy since I'm at work. Retrocore - Not to be confused with that terrible audio podcast. This came first. A long-standing video series reviewing many Japanese Saturn games, but all post-crash consoles are given love. Some of the early eps record in front of a TV, but it's done nicely. Thankfully, you can download these off of archive.org. Sadly, not around anymore. Was around before the whole podcast craze started. Very professionally done, and the high mark. GameLife - And on the opposite end of the spectrum... You know you have a trainwreck if you are featured on Encyclopedia Dramatica. You don't watch it for the video game coverage. You watch it since it is so painfully bad. Geoff is the annoying ADHD kid you want kicked off of Xbox Live. The sole female reporter seems like she would have a restraining order filed against all the other hosts. Sadly, her and some teenage kid who's name escapes me are the only ones with any presentation skills. Watch super-blurry footage of DS games & relax in "the game lounge" where an off-kilter video camera tapes footage of a TV screen instead of recording it directly. One of the hosts also made terrorist threats to his girlfriend, and the series was shortly gone thereafter. Angry Video Game Nerd - Already been covered millions of times. His latest episode on video game glitches was fun. There's plenty more I have saved to my hard drive at home, but I don't have access right now.

    New mouse project!

Okay, while it may be possible to make a mouse for the Jaguar, one would also need to make software to utilize said mouse. Heck, that applies to ANY new hardware made for a video game console.
  19. Speaking of the usual flaws with Retrocore(Colin, the Ed McMahon of the podcast who contributes nothing), does it spend 60% of the show on Pokemon, and the last 15 minutes on the main topic? I don't know if I could make a worse podcast than that. I really, honestly don't. I also tried Armchair Gamer's. I'm going to give it a few more episodes before I'm passing judgment.
  20. But the ports that have shown up here in the homebrews are okay? What's the difference?
  21. I honestly can't recommend MESS for anything, sadly. It's more quantity over quality for that.
