Because retro gamers play new stuff too? Crazy, I know.

I know I play retro games to get something unique, as opposed to the Sgt. McShootaman games that have dominated for so long. Switch is inherently different & unique despite its newness.

Plus Nintendo has a rep for long-term playability & value, so it's a way to buy in cheap before nostalgia jacks up prices in 20 years (maybe).

For me, I don't want to see someone else play a game I might be (very) interested in...It would ruin the surprise. But there are cases where I want to see a game played just to refresh my memory or hear the music etc., (or maybe I'm otherwise busy) and then it's best with no stupid voiceover at all...

Since the mid 1980's, I've kept a book of personal records. However I once inherited it from my big brother, so a small share of the records still are his. Only in the case I was close to beating it, I have written down my record. Then again he hasn't had a chance to beat any records since 1986 or so, meaning all games he never played and all those where I beat his record, he can't overcome my score.

Sound pretty level-headed to me.

That was my thought when I went to my first show in 2004 (the only one I attended as a "civilian" rather than staff member). Compared to what these shows are now it was laughably small and rinky-dink but I thought it was the most amazing thing I'd ever seen. I thought it equally amazing that there were others like me.
