How do I reprint my ticket? I can't find my printout & it was on my old laptop. Hm..
nevermind it's here
-
Does this also apply to that adjustment pot on the underside of a Coleco Gemini module?
-
Fixed that for ya!
;-p
This is just my quarterly reminder that you don't need iTunes to subscribe to and listen to podcasts. Spare yourself the grief. Cut the cord.
Sent from my Keyboard Component using Jack's Conversational Intelli-talk cassette
But I'm still rockin' my iPod. I've used my tablet or phone with PodCatcher in the meantime. At least that works.
If there's some freeware substitute for iTunes that has all the same features(handling music & 'casts), I'll switch.
-
I'm coming in from the twin cities. Is there a must-visit store, arcade, etc I should hit on the way? I did hit a smal-scale arcade ice cream place, but the pins were mostly out of order.
-
Haven't had a single issue with iTunes; you using the PC version or Mac version?
The PC version. 99% of all the tech problems reported on forums, etc are for the Mac version. I'm going to try to un & reinstall it. I did think ahead of time & marked all the star ratings of my songs in the comments field.

Well, it looks like iTunes once again has failed me. It refuses to update podcasts. The last time it says it refreshed any 'cast was last Sunday(8 days ago). Manual refreshes don't work. Yet, it let one episode of RGR go through.
Another fun feature is checking Genius for 10 minutes at startup, even though I swore I shut it off.
ITunes gets worse with each revision, and adds confusion to the GUI. Really un-Apple like.

Any good sites with blueprints to make one's own cab from scratch? I had some files saved to my thumb drive, but they were awful PDFS with little to no actual information on them.
-
If you want to make some money, sell merchandise customized with the name "Justin" to retro game podcasters. There seems to be several.
-
Quick update: I was able to fix it(at least the reset button) by Dremeling out the circular holes to be 1 big rectangular hole. The buttons have full freedom now. PIcs later.

I'll take one. Then podcasters will know who to punch.

I know video games are much more popular(bigger than hollywood) than they were back then, but I'm looking at the NE map. You know, the one that's entirely red? It's not THAT popular. Like, 2 gamestops in the Mall of America popular. I highly doubt each GS is pushing so much merch that it needs a second store to keep up.
In Tokyo, there's zero game stops. There's nowhere near as many stores selling video games than I saw per square kilometer, and I was in Akihabara.
-
(hint: it's the one that's open all night, never runs out of stock, and never asks me to purchase a protection plan, loyalty club membership, or a magazine subscription)
Come to think of it, where I purchased GTA5 a while back fit that bill(almost): WalMart. IIRC they had a pallet of them. Yes, I went to WalMart instead of a tiny retailer that specializes in video games.
It's amazing how much time is spent per transaction for the club sign-up for the few customers they have in-store.
Getting a little RadioShacky there, GS.

Depending on when and where you do this, I predict:
1. Someone will grab it before you even finish setting it down
2. A fist fight between two people who 'saw it first'
3. A guy with a table in the vendor hall grabs it and starts selling the items at inflated prices
Well if that's gonna happen, I'm gonna covertly sit across with my cell phone camera on record ready for instant YouTube fun footage.
I've got too much clutter in my house, and I need to cut back. Sadly, one Colecovision Gemini module isn't working at all. heh.

Last time I went to a GS, the floor space seemed to be entirely devoted to toys & video game swag.

I think I'm going to bring a "free" bag consisting of games, DVDs, etc that I don't want to bother selling, but don't want to bother indexing/taking pictures of, etc. so it thus, can be free!
* Robotech DVDs
* A few PS2 games
* a few DVD movies that I have no need to watch again
* A Wii knockoff console
* a cheap famiclone(I have several, I can sacrifice one)
I'll put 'er our there in a shopping bag with a "free" sign, and see what happens.

I never met a Capcom pinball game I didn't like. They made some real nice pins. I had the pleasure of playing BBB at SS Billiards. Fun game. Love the artwork(nice & clean) and the goofy sci-fi theme. I magine BBB is where all the Galaxy High kids grew up and went to.

So I've got a Gemini module that has the rectangular buttons. The start & reset buttons won't budge at all. Even with the top part of the casing off, the buttons wont budge.
Can I just dremel around the button holes to give it full freedom?

I have a Sega Saturn I was given several years back. No games, no controller, no TV cables, no power cord. Will anyone have a setup I can use to test it out?
Maybe there will be one in the console+computer room you can do a swap with(with asking beforehand) to do a quick check? If it works, I'm betting you can get the missing parts easily in the vendor tent.

Don't forget MIdwest Gaming Classic. That's become one of the major ones.
-
I'm not believing anything until there's a 12-hour special episode of The Intellivisonaries episode clarifying it.
Breaking news!-

I could see the big N going after them for nintendopower.com.
Many individual console/computer games had domain names ending with "world" like quakeworld.com, etc for fan sites focusing on just that one game.

Heh. I made my trip to Galloping Ghost & Underground Retrocade last weekend. Totally fun. Wow does GG have a ton of obscure games. I wonder if that was the same Wacko cabinet I played at the Amtrak station BITD.
But wow, is driving on the highways in the Chicago area no fun. Everyone is going warp 3, and tailgating is a common occurence. All sorts of "get outta my way!" going on.
Driving from Underground Retrocade to home(twin cities) whilst avoiding tolls was strange. Lots of stoplights & really congested shopping center areas.

OT:
"Final question: You're on a 55mph zone. How fast do you go?"
"80"
"Correct! here's your Illinois drivers license."
