3 minutes into Wonder Woman 1984 and I spot an anachronism in the arcade.
-
What voltage do the Coleco & Intelly flashbacks take? I can't find the power supplies anywhere.
-
I only now discovered the free retro games that came with Amazon Prime. NOICE.
-
Twitch Prime, presumably Amazon will just get rid of the Twitch name one day. Its now called "Prime Gaming".
It includes various B rated games, some of which might be ones you thought "oh, I wouldn't mind trying this sometime".
I've been "saving" each game that comes out since they started doing it, and I'll be honest I don't think I've actually booted one of them up, but if you haven't got anything to play - it might be worth a shot.
-
Somehow, some way I found an .EXE that actually runs Super Cassette Vision games. The libretro dlls in Retroarch boot up the system, but won't boot up the game.
-
On the TV show "Eerie, Indiana" you can hear Atari 2600 asteroids, and a kid is playing Stargate arcade in the attract mode.

Just as a reminder, everything in the universe will be discontinued, and then re-released with an HDMI port added to it.

Closest thing to a Laserdisc player with an HDMI port I ever saw was a > $1000 Pioneer LD-S9, 2nd or 3rd best player in existence. It digitized everything internally it seems. I suppose if you were a super awesome uber-hacker you could tap into the digital stream and re-encode into HDMI. That said I know the comment was made in jest.

I'm watching The Great Space Coaster, and it's showing people smoking(and telling you not to smoke). Heh.
-
I was watching American Horror Story and spotted a Tandy 1000HX

Funny. This old WiFi adapter won't work on Windows 10, yet the Raspberry Pi 1 picked it right up and is using it.

There may be something in control panel that you might be able to change to get it working. My HP Spectre laptop was absolutely crawling along at around 1.5mbps at my daughter's place after she switched broadband provider. Everything else in the house seemed to work fine with the new router. Looking at the router's control panel, everything else was connected to it at 2.4Ghz while the laptop was at 5Ghz. So I tried forcing the laptop to default to the 2.4Ghz signal (by going into the Network Adapter settings in the control panel and disabling the standards that cause it to try to connect at 6Ghz) and now it accesses the internet as fast as anything else in the house.

Okay, after some testing, Batocera is now blowing recalbox out of the water. I miss the web manager, but I guess I can live without it.
-
I learned some hard linux lessons today; Use EXT4, turn off MCafee Firewall, plug in your samba password. Now it mostly works.
-
Boy is configuring Samba on a new Linux system an obstacle course. Yet any REtropie setup I've done, the samba "just works".
-
I was given an old Windows Vista laptop. Going through the hoops of imaging Recalbox on it. Let's see what happens.

The biggest news: I got my shabu shabu pot/grill thing a month earlier than anticipated.

Ugh, monitor on my barcade cab died. I just swapped out a monitor from my main system heh.
-
It's crazy but my experience was similar. I'd ordered a homemade little MAME bartop deal from a guy on Gamegavel (2015 I believe) and when it got here it was so overpackaged that it fell out of my hands and hit the floor...When I tried it, the monitor didn't work...First I hooked it up to one of those bigass CRT computer monitors I had lying around, but I ordered a little flat screen for it which I put in once it arrived...

I want to see some sci fi tv show where the main characters get into a bind when they are working on the ship's computer and it blurts out "UNREGISTERED SHAREWARE"
-
My barcade cabinet kit will show up today. Then I can stop trying to make my own and get gaming.
-
I want to take this Atari 2600 compat. joystick with the fire button on top & use er in a Retropie setup. Some engineering would be needed.
-
Pac Man cabinet for $149. But there's a catch..

A shout out to the lawn service for my neighbor, who I swear are just revving up their weed wackers to make noise. Nice to have them come by weekly. I was tired of being able to hear myself think.
-
Bad, part of my attic vent came apart. Good: Have a replacement.
Also bad: another part of the vent that got loose, some trimp. Good: found a replacement in my scrap wood pile. Even has the same trim type.
-
I would like to thank the neighbor's lawn service for using the absolute loudest lawnmowers that could wake the dead.

@jhd I thought you were going to say you saw the dead rising! ?

@Rogerpoco I've lived in Hawaii in the jungle with feral roosters and chickens everywhere. After a week or so I don't even notice it and sleep right through it
