  1. What screenshot is your avatar? Never saw that game before.

  2. One suggestion is when you hit the enemy, don't flash the screen. I don't suffer from seizures from flashy light stuff, but that's going to get annoying.
  3. Dunno. It almost seems like it's design, where it looks nice enough but only for a period of time until you get it out of the store. I encountered it on only 2 no-name game controllers. Perhaps it was added so my hands don't slip in a major gaming session, but it makes more of a mess than anything. Would rather do without.
  4. I think the Contact Methods on AtariAge profile options are a bit dated. ICQ? GameGavel?

What's "dated" about GameGavel???? Mike assures us that it's "growing by leaps and bounds"!

  6. Ahoy there fellow internet users! K0YHK mic check.

  7. This has shown on two controllers I bought over the years. It feels like this controller is coated in wax. However, trying to remove said film on it has failed. I tried goof-off, washing it with soap & water, etc. Nothing gets it off. Any advice on how to get rid of it? It's on this controller & a super-tiny USB controller I bought 8 years ago.
  8. 128 games. So more than any of the Flashbacks? Heh
  9. Aasgard software releasing Infocom titles? Interesting.
  10. I use win32 disk imager for the .img file you get for REtropie. It's different for RecalBox, which is a bunch of files. Do I just format an SD card to FAT32 and copy the files over?
  11. You know you're a hardcore gamer when you play Planetfall on a PDP-11.
  12. What did the shift 838 cheats enable?
  13. A new pinball podcast has arrived! Cornball Pincast It's on soundcloud, so I'm struggling to find a RSS feed. First episode is just in time for the Houdini pinball machine, a super-controversial pinball machine by American Pinball. Also, a friend of mine is starting an arcade-centric podcast. He's made the Facebook page, website, etc, but not the first episode yet.
  14. So what are the key differences between Recalbox vs RetroPie? I'm using RetroPie now(it's brittle), and only saw a video of Recalbox. Looking at the video, they look almost the same. A similar cross-bar(?) interface to pick console, then game. I have a spare sd card(from a broken build of RetroPie) I should give Recalbox a try.
  15. The "Awesome Video Games" video series is a prime example of something that did NOT age well at all.

I never really cared for Frasier Agar, even when he did The Little Buzzers on Newgrounds.

  16. Want to try a super hard game with what seems like only one path? Try The Pit. It didn't last long at our roller rink. I tried it, and I noticed if you deviate from the magic path one bit, or stall just the slightest, you lose a life.
  17. Notes: 1. I played BagMan once and got stuck where I was moving the wheelbarrow at the top of the screen down a small decline, and it got stuck. That game is just brutally hard. Funny you mention Bag-It Man from Aardvark software. I bought another one of their titles(some RPG like game) via mail order for the TI-99/4A(Wizard's Tower). Fun game, but brutally difficult. 2. Sinistar had great sounds, not limited to just the voice bits. 1. the opening guitar riff 2. The player death explosion sound, which sounds like it's distorting the speakers The game overall feels like a rapid-pace souped-up Asteroids. The bouncing against asteroids to get the crystals and the subsequent race to grab said crystals is fun.
  18. A new pinball podcast has arrived! Slam Tilt Podcast http://www.podcastgarden.com/podcast/slamtilt rating pending
  19. Grand list of games I've been able to play with RetroArch:

  20. So I have an interesting problem. RPi 1 + RetroPie + Stella 2600 emulator = runs just great RPi zero + RetroPie + Stella 2600 emulator = kablewy I get no video(blank screen) and what sounds like a 60hz hum. Whole thing locks up after that. I tried tweaking some video settings at the boot level for the RpI, but no luck. Tried a different video mode in stella, but it still does it. Any tips on how to fix this?
  21. I buy a cheap $5 wireless network adapter, and my Retro Pie on a PiZero is going!

  22. And a new 5200 podcast is born! I can't link to it from work, but it's on gamebygamepodcast.com.
  23. No replies for 19 days? Definitely the summer off. 1. Great crossover host episode on 2600GBG 2. No Quarter is coming back. 3. I like hummus
