  3. Hello, I'm selling most of my collection of handheld games. I'm keeping a few of them, for "programming simulators" purpose. Notice that many games I'm selling were used as source for my handhelds simulators. For this reason I assure that they work perfectly and are in great cosmetic conditions (the simulation process doesn't affect games). PS: I'm willing to sell the games on Ebay shortly. Please send me an email as soon as possible in case you're interested in any of the items listed below. 4. and oh, thanks for the picture! but unfortunately you have nothing missing from my database. i'm still looking for a picture/a scan of the stone age box. PS: this is an almost complete list of the released games: http://www.madrigaldesign.it/creativemu/software.php
  5. the multicart sold out in 2008. we still have carts n. 1 and 100 to sell sometime soon. i keep on planning to put them on auction on ebay, but then something happens which keeps me away from doing so. about police jump: i have a few duplicates to sell/get rid of - both boxed and loose. they're all "second editions" with the "white tall bad dude" as opposed to the "first edition" in which the bad dude was brown. and i also have a rubber keyboard (loose) and a tape module (loose), a basic cart with manual and a bunch of other cartridges.
  6. @evg2000: would you mind listing the carts you got? Did they come complete with manuals, boxes and overlays? Why I'm asking: I'm still trying to get a few pieces of missing information.
  7. evg2000: you'll find a tutorial about adding the "composite video mod" to your unit on the creativemu website. and just in case your power supply is broken, there's an useful thread on the creativemu forum, with diagrams and layout to help you build a new (and cheap) one.
  8. Here I am - I'm the webmaster of the CreatiVEmu website - I was pointed here by Carlsson and Mobsie. I recently read an interesting story from a friend. He told me that the CreatiVision was possibly designed around 1977 by Otron (or Oltron), a Korean manufacturer of "pong-style" videogames. The "project" was offered to Coleco, which refused. Then it was offered to VTech, which bought it, completed the development and released it as "CreatiVision". But what you forget to say is that: 1. CreatiVision was not meant to be a "console with a strangekeyboard". It was designed to be a real home computer! You can remove the left and right panels from the main unit, and you'll find out that: 2. on the left side there's a specific connector to attach the custom tape recorder/player 3. on the right side the cartridge slot is actually an expansion port, in which you could attach the I/O module (released), the RAM expansion (unreleased), the modem (unreleased), the floppy disk drive (unreleased) and the "Colecovision converter" (unreleased for the Creativision -> released for it's successor, the Laser 2001 computer) 4. you could attach a Centronics printer to the I/O module, and actually use it to print listings from the BASIC interpreter 5. the BASIC interpreter (released in 4 variants) is a standanole cartridge, sold separately with its 140-pages manual You can find whatever information you want on the CreatiVEmu website. There's a nice "history" in English, a few tutorials, and a complete database of scans of flyers, game manuals, game covers, prototypes, articles, books etc. Around 1 Gb of freely downloadable data :-) You're welcome there :-) PS: I have a few units to get rid of, including an ultra rare variant: the Hanimex Rameses. I also have books, boxed games, rare items, etc. Contact me via the website. I'll do anything I can to help. :-)
  9. More updates today, some of which are definately juicy. Let's get started with the main course: new findings of previously unknown items! The first newly discovered item is a sticker to promote the Zanussi CreatiVision in Italy. Scans were provided by an unknown Italian contributor (nickname: "fantasia_zero") and they're now available for free download on the usual Flyers page. The file is called "Io videogioco con CreatiVision". The second newly discovered item is a very early copy of the Tennis cartridge for the Dick Smith Wizzard. The included EPROM reads May 1982 as the manufacturing date, and the actual game displays the "Wimbledon Championship" sign in place of the "Dick Smith Championship" one, which was used in the later (common) version. The game was released in a box also displaying the screenshot reading "Wimbledon Championship". So we have three variants of the Tennis game for the Wizzard in total. For more information, read this page. Now listing all of the updates to the usual Releases/Software page: Game cartridges: - Air-Sea Attack (CreatiVision, Swedish): manual re-scan - Auto Chase (CreatiVision, Swedish): box re-scan - BASIC (Wizzard, Australian): manual, later variant + later erratum sheet - Crazy Chicky (CreatiVision, Swedish): manual re-scan - Planet Defender (CreatiVision, Italian): manual, early white variant - Police Jump (CreatiVision, Swedish): manual re-scan - Police Jump (Salora Manager, Finnish): manual - Sonic Invader (CreatiVision, Italian): manual, early white variant - Tennis (CreatiVision, Swedish): box re-scan Tapes: - Demo Tape (Wizzard, Australian): cassette tape, non-Sony variant - Draughts (Wizzard, Australian): recording in WAV file (finally!) Credits go to Jarkko Pitajamaki from Finland, Anders Carlsson from Sweden and Thomas Gutmeier from Germany. About the Draughts game, please notice that the listing of the BASIC program is available (in plain text format) on the popular Downloads/BASIC programs page. There's an interesting addition to the Books page: scans from the old German book "Computer Ratgeber", featuring a section about the Laser 2001 computer. Last but not least, there's a new section on the Forum, specifically devoted to game programming. There's a few active programmers discussing about their projects and publishing updates, graphics and information on forthcoming homebrew games. So don't miss to read the Forum! 10. yes please keep us up to date :-)
  11. Yup! Welcome back home! :-) Please send me email asap, I want to make sure to ship your parcel veeeeeeery soon!
  12. A new year has begun, and I'm here with a ton of updates! First of all I'm proud to introduce the new section: "Homebrew", featuring articles about newly produced hardware and software. In addition to the existing pages on Multicart, Diagnosticart and Datassette Interface, I'm adding two brand new articles: - How to add a Composite A/V output mod to your CreatiVision - How to build a Printer cable to connect your Centronics standard printer to the CreatiVision Parallel I/O Interface. I took pics and scanned the box of the rare optional joysticks pack for use with the Salora Manager. Also, got scans from the rare "erratum" sheet for the Cassette Tape Module manual, plus pictures of a "variant" of the box, showing an orange sticker on the back. Don't miss the new files, they're available on the Releases/Hardware page! I got fresh scans and pics of many rare games on cartridge, now available in the Releases/Software page: - Auto Chase (Rameses): box, cart - BASIC (CreatiVision and Wizzard): "erratum" sheets added to instruction manuals - Chopper Rescue (Salora Manager): box, cart (at higher resolution) - Deep Sea Adventure (German): box - Deep Sea Aventure (Salora Manager): cart (at higher resolution) - Locomotive (Laser 2001): box, cart - Planet Defender (international): box - Planet Defender (Rameses): box, overlay - Police Jump (Salora Manager): box, cart - Police Jump (German): box - Soccer (German): box, manual - Stone Age (Salora Manager): cart (at higher resolution) - Tank Attack (Rameses): box, cart, overlay There's a bunch of new articles from old magazines: "Pergioco" (Italy), "ELO" (Germany) and "Tekniikan Maailma" (Finland). They are: - "Astro Pinball" review (Pergioco 9/83) - "Video: la parabola tende al computer" article (Pergioco 10/83) - "Metamorphose" (ELO 5/83) - "Aquarius II ja Salora Manager: Uusi yritys" (TM 18/84) - "Kultainen keskitie?" (TM 5/83) There's scans from an old book from the 80's, mentioning the CreatiVision system: - "Home Computer: Ein praktisches Handbuch" (Germany, 1983) There's good news on the emulation side: a programmer whose nick is Wiimpathy released a porting of FunnyMu to the Nintendo Wii console. The executable and source files are available for download on the popular Emulators page. Last but not least, I finally typed (and fixed) the listing I had on paper print, of the BASIC game Math Launch programmed by my long time friend, John Pospisil of Sydney. It's now available for download on the Basic Programs page. Thanks go to Ernest Haslinger from Austria, Mauro Spadazzi and Gavino Sechi from Italy, Adam White from Canada, Jarkko Pitajamaki from Finland, Rikard Ljungkvist from Sweden, Thomas Gutmeier from Germany, Paul Nicholls from Tasmania, John Pospisil from New South Wales and Mark W. Canon from USA. PS: Don't miss to check the Forum for a ton of interesting threads on programming (with even a few beta-version of games currently under development). 13. I have several CreatiVision items to trade/sell Hm... I think I know you, even tohugh I don't recognise your nickname
  14. I currenly have to sell: - 1 boxed Dick Smith Wizzard - 1 loose Hanimex HVC6502 Rameses I can help you make a "composite TV output", if needed :-)
  15. Depends on conditions, completeness, working status. A boxed Zanussi Creativision, with box in nice conditions, complete with manual, pack-in game (Tennis), TV switch, power supply, tested working with all responsive keys and joysticks, usually sells for 150-200 Euro's. Variants sell for several prices. Rameses and Funvision are the most worthwile, even when loose. Dick Smith Wizzard is the most common one.
  16. I know Ozma and I know he's a lot of retrogaming stuff to sell as i did business with him in the past. ...and afaik he's also been collecting "classic" cars for over a decade. ...and yes i agree with all the guys: ozma, get yourself a decent camera and send us some pics of your items on sale :-)
  17. Hello I'm one of the authors of the Multicart. Carts 1 and 100 will be sold sometime via ebay auction. Sorry had no time/chance to actually set the auctions up. By the way fyi there's currently a VERY RARE (3 in existence) "demo multicart" with 4 games in it, specific stickers, manual, etc. Was made for the "Video Games History 2008" event, given as a prize on a retrogaming videogame tournament. Link to auction: http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5574883395&toolid=10001&campid=5336500554&customid=&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.it%2Fitm%2F321064120415
  18. @Star Raider I suppose you still have those boxed carts, do you? The online database on my CreatiVEmu website still lacks a good scan of the "international version" of Planet Defender box and manual. Would you like to contribute the website by providing me scans? If so, please send me a message via the "contact" form on the website, I will tell you where to send scans, the needed resolution, dpi setting, etc. :-)
  19. no it wasn't. but i recently discovered a south-american release. not sure the exact country, (the owner is from venezuela and he thinks it was bought somewhere else, not venezuela). the unit has 110v power supply, and provably it's NTSC. i still need to gather more informations about that unit. maybe it was just a "prototype" or a "pre-sale" unit, used for promotion or for testing purposes... not sure if it actually shipped in venezuela/brazil etc... the only known ntsc model which officially hit the shelves is the japanese one. it's darn rare. by the way, since all modern TV's are "multi-standard" (they work both with PAL and NTSC), most US collectors use the PAL version. as for the voltage, you could use a self-made power supply, or buy a "220v->110v" converter. ps. if you like the Wikipedia article (which I partially wrote) you will like the "history" part on my CreatiVEmu website. there's also a few nice pics there.
  20. Even though I recently spent most of my time planning my wedding (September 9th, 2012), I kept on searching for obscure and unknown stuff for the CreatiVision system. I recently put my hands on a few nice items, which I promptly pictured, scanned, dumped, and I'm now sharing with all CreatiVision fans, then I also got many pics and informations from new and old contributors. Here's a list of the new files. Software, carts - Air-Sea Attack (Japanese version): box - Air-Sea Attack (Zanussi version): yellow paper variant of the manual - BASIC (Hanimex Rameses): box, hi-res manual - Crazy Chewy: box, cartridge - Crazy Chicky (Japanese version): box - Tank Attack (Zanussi version): yellow paper variant of the manual Software, cassette tapes - Air-Sea Attack (Salora Manager): box, tape - Demo Tape (Hanimex Rameses): box, tape, WAV file - Sonic Invader (Salora Manager): box, tape Hardware - CreatiVision console (Swiss version): pictures - CreatiVision console (Australian version): pictures - Cassette Storage Module (Hanimex Rameses): pictures - Cassette Storage Module (VTech Funvision): manual - 16K Memory Expansion Module (Salora Manager): box - Expansion Module #1 (Salora Manager): pictures But the most juicy news is about the recently discovered early revision of Police Jump, displaying Dangerous Dan as a "clone" of Donkey Kong (more infos on the news from June 25,th 2012). Well I'm releasing the dump of the ROM program, and I'm also adding the updated version of the popular interface, CreatiVe-UI (v. 1.09), now recognizing the Police Jump ROM. I even found some time to convert the WAV sample of the Rameses Demo Tape into a plain TXT file, for use with FunnyMu Unofficial and CvEmu2 emulators. The new files are available in the Emulators, ROM Programs and BASIC programs pages. Lastly, there's new scans available in the Articles from the 80's area: a nice advertisement for CreatiVision and Laser 110/210 computers, appearing on German magazine Tele Match issue 6/83, and a nice article on the "console wars" appearing on German magazine Chip issue 3/83. Read them from the usual Articles and Flyers page. Credits go to Mikko Heinonen from Finland, Basilio Lenzo and Mauro Spadazzi from Italy, Jens Brinkmann from Germany, and James Rich from Australia. 21. Hello my friends. I recently got informations from a nice guy in Venezuela, who owns a very odd revision of the VTech CreatiVision console (infos on my website "CreatiVEmu": http://www.madrigaldesign.it/creativemu/ ). He sent me a few pics of his unit, and I found out that the unit was sold in South America. Not sure of the actual country where the unit sold originally. Might be Venezuela, but the owner himself is not sure. The unit runs at 110V, and *might* be a NTSC version. This might be the only NTSC version of Creativision, except the ultra-rare Japanese version. *** I NEED YOUR HELP *** I'm looking for informations, scans of old magazines, advertisements, rumours, etc. about this fancy South-American Creativision. First of all I need to know which country it actually sold, or at least was promoted. Then if you could also help by providing infos on the local distributor, it would be GREAT! :-) Any informations welcome! :-) Thanks!! MADrigal
