  1. Hello my friends.

I recently got informations from a nice guy in Venezuela, who owns a very odd revision of the VTech CreatiVision console (infos on my website "CreatiVEmu": http://www.madrigaldesign.it/creativemu/ ).

He sent me a few pics of his unit, and I found out that the unit was sold in South America.

Not sure of the actual country where the unit sold originally. Might be Venezuela, but the owner himself is not sure.

The unit runs at 110V, and *might* be a NTSC version.

This might be the only NTSC version of Creativision, except the ultra-rare Japanese version.

    *** I NEED YOUR HELP ***

I'm looking for informations, scans of old magazines, advertisements, rumours, etc. about this fancy South-American Creativision.

First of all I need to know which country it actually sold, or at least was promoted. Then if you could also help by providing infos on the local distributor, it would be GREAT! :-)

    Any informations welcome! :-)

    Thanks!!

  2. so, this is a system similiar to the Atari? i've never seen one. did it get a different name and get sold in the USA?

Its hardware is very close to Colecovision and MSX.

I recently also released Diagnosticart - that's a new cart featuring ultra rare diagnostic software that surfaced last year. I produced 40 copies, and it's sold out since the very beginning.

    All infos here, as usual:

  3. Hello,

let me introduce the new multicart by CreatiVEmu Team: CreatiVision Diagnosticart. It's the "missing piece" for any CreatiVision fan, including ultra rare diagnostic softwares that recently surfaced (and I spent a LOT to buy them!) - that's hand-made diagnostic carts used in licensed VTech support laboratories.

We originally planned to produce 30 Diagnosticarts, but we got 33 pre-orders now, and we raised the number of carts to 40.

7 are still available for pre-order.

Pre-orders close on March 16th, then we'll produce the exact number of carts as people pre-order.

    Price is 35 euros (approx 43 US$).

For all infos, and pictures: http://www.madrigaldesign.it/creativemu/diagnosticart.php

    Regards :)

  7. Hello,

this update's been really HUGE - and this is also gonna be the last one for long time, due to upcoming job I have elsewhere.

Here's the report you can also read from the "news page" at http://www.madrigaldesign.it/creativemu/news.php:

    NEW BOOKS, ARTICLES AND MANUALS

There's a very important addition to the Releases database: Germans should be happy because I scanned the complete German BASIC manual (very rare version printed on A4 sheets!) and turned it into a superb 1,5 MBytes PDF file.

Similar additions to the Articles from the 80s page: thanks to very nice contributor Norman Pelz, I added scans from Tele-Spiele Report'84, a rare German book printed in 1983, featuring a 4-page chapter on the creatiVision. I also scanned the complete First Book of Programs for the D.S. Wizzard and turned it into another sturdy 2,7 MBytes PDF file! Here's the list:

    - Tele-Spiele Report '84

    - German BASIC manual

    - First Book of Programs for the Dick Smith Wizzard

    NEW BASIC LISTINGS

Last but not least, there's a load of new files in the Downloads area. Let's start with a bunch of BASIC listings taken from the "First Book of Programs". I tested, fixed and saved them to plain text file, making them available for use with the FunnyMu 0.47 emulator. Here's the list:

    - Computer Story, Graphics Example Program, Hangman, Letter Guesser, Magic Patterns, Maths Quiz, Music Box, Music Machine, Number Guesser, Rowe's Relaxation Therapy, Sketch, Space Style Character Set, Test Marker, What Day of the Week is it?, Wizzard Clock, Wizzard Mind, Wizzard Word

    NEW ROMS

Good news from programmer Kurt Woloch, who updated his gorgeous Titanic Frogger demo, which now works also on real hardware (the first version worked properly on emulator only), and there's also the new Christmas Demo, previously available on the Special Edition Multicart (sold through Ebay on a charity auction to support Amnesty International). Both demos are available with their full source code - we strongly wish this helps talented programmers willing to enter the leet creatiVision demo scene! Here's the list:

    - Christmas Demo 1.0 + source code

    - Titanic Frogger Demo 1.1 + source code

    NEW GUI FOR FUNNYMU EMULATOR

The newly released ROMs informations and screenshots were of course added to CreatiVe-UI, the friendly interface for use with FunnyMu 0.47:

    - CreatiVe-UI 1.05

That's all folks... Please feel free to send me any comments or questions. :)

  8. Thanks much :)

We'll soon set up a very special Christmas auction for charity. Money will go entirely to Amnesty International, and the cart will be a "1 of a kind" both for aesthetics and content, and will also include a signed postcard, specially made for this event.

More infos in the next days on www.gamesniped.com ;)

are you the one who outbid me on vectrex debris and city bomber? or do you just keep track of cool game auctions?

    Hi Kai,

no it's not me, I'm not buying Vectrex items at all...

    Luca

  9. Hello,

Gamesniped.com team asked me and my CreatiVEmu team partner, Giovanni, to contribute their charity auctions.

So Giovanni and I prepared a special "one of a kind" model of the creatiVision Multicart, with a lot of new additions, specifically-made ROMs (including a Christmas Demo by programmer Kurt Woloch), custom stickers and a signed postcard designed by me for Gamesniped.com

100% of the auction will be given to Amnesty International

Currently there are 11 bids for around US$180. Auction ends in 3 days (that's December 28th).

    Here's the URL's:

    - Gamesniped article: http://www.gamesniped.com/2007/12/21/games...-xmas-multicart

    - Link to auction: http://cgi.ebay.it/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...em=190185196987

PS: I'm not the author of the auction, just trying to help :)
