  1. I hate that bat. lol. Very fun game. Anyway to make pitfall style pits? Might look a little nicer. THe player sprite looks a little odd with what I assume is his arm sticking out while standing still. Just my opinion. Is there a way to get the sword back after the bat steals it?

  2. This is looking great. I love the player animations. Charging the weapon is cool. SOme power ups would definitely be cool. Like standard invincible and maybe like a double shot or spread shot. Will there be enemies on the ground you have to jump over? If so, maybe the player can have a downward stab kinda of move for ground enemies.

  3. English - or not... see above

    hold ball

    advance paddle position forward

    sticky ball

    random bounce

    little ball

    big ball

two balls --player releases a ball, and another one, and triple score if other player misses both sequentially, otherwise ordinary score based on remaining ball. No point given for miss of first ball.

    fat paddle

    narrow paddle

    reversed paddle

random paddle - jitters for a while

two paddles -- one in front, one in ordinary position

god wall - player can't miss for a while

bullets - get three shots at the other player

gravity ball - ball attracted to players paddle, motion influences ball movement

center wall, for a mini break out session, with a risk of point given, should player that has the ball miss!

bent paddle - for limiting possible returns to other player

    invisible paddle

switch controls! - for a time each player gets the other players paddle, point given to non-controlling player for a miss, so the game is just mirrored for a short time

    Call it battle pong!

Those sound like cool powerups. Wish I was a programmer. I was just asking if the idea had been done before or if anyone was working on something similar.

  4. Has anyone made a version of pong with powerups? LIke being able to hold the ball, make the paddle bigger/smaller, Make the ball move slower or faster. The powerups might appear randomly on the screen and the player who hits it gets the power. Just wondering if this has been done yet or something like it.

  5. This sounds really cool. I hope it does manage to get made into a 2600 game. I'd definitely play it. I like the concept and theme too. The only thing I would add is a move counter so the player can try to complete each level in the least amount of moves possible. SOrry I can't try the wii version. sounds cool too.

  6. the sword never actually points north or south.

I kinda thought that was what you meant by being a horizontal game. BY the same logic, you should only e able to shoot to the right. lol. (I'm just playing around. )

Also, I think it would be too easy to kill the white wizard if you could shoot in any direction.

THat's a good point. Maybe the white wizard could have some sort of shield that makes it harder for the player to shoot him from above or below. Or maybe just plain impossible. (Like magic boots and hat)

I'm not a programmer, so I have no idea just how hard that may be to do. Just a suggestion though to even out the idea of firing in all directions.

p.s. A couple simple power-ups might be cool to give it another little twist.

  7. Great game. Nice twist on adventure.

Although, I agree with others about being able to shoot vertically as well. The player and the wizards should. I really don't get what you mean by adventure always being more of a horizontal game. There are plenty of places in the game where the player must take a path up or down. The player could also hold the sword (or any other object) from above or below. You could even hold the sword by the players corner. I would often hold it above when entering a room from the bottom of the screen. Plus the enemies always came at you from any direction, including above or below.

new enemy type would be nice if possible.

  8. There is no "the rom"; each cart has a different customized rom. If/when a rom is released here by me, it will be an AtariAge edition.

Sorry. I meant no disrespect and I wasn't saying that someone else should dump it and release it. I was just remembering a pm from you a while back saying that you were probably going to wait until the easter egg was found before releasing the bin.

I've been waiting a while to try the final version of the game. especially part 3. Unfortunately, I'm not in a position to start collecting vintage hardware and carts to play the games, so I rely on emulation.
