  1. I just came back from Florida and while down there, stopped at a few pawn shops, a few thrift stores, and quite a few flea markets and all I came up with is a few NES carts and 1, yes 1, Atari cart, Air & Sea Battle. Beginning to wonder if I have the black cloud thing happening here.

  2. I have a 4 switch Atari 2600 and in the process of replacing switches, I noticed that the RF cord has quite a few small splits in it. I want to replace it. The question I have is can I use an RCA cord (like the yellow video RCA) with a 90 degree angle on one end to fit into the board) or does it have to be exactly like the original?

  3. I did save it. I have a great graphics program called Visio Technical, but the monitor was made in the year of the first flood and because of that, it's not too clear. Even the normal size map isn't that crisp and clear. I had no problem finding the hidden stuff last night on my home computer. So, I came up with the following: the government buys crap and that's what I get for trying to solve mysteries at work instead of working.

  4. You ain't kidding Iguana. Just when I think I find something, a monkey wrench seems to be thrown in. I have both a Braille Alphabet and a Morse code list but can't see the items clearly enough. Darn garbage monitor. I should have figured; the government bought it.

  5. Ok, I found the "tiny frames" on the map page; but I also found "things" in quite a few other spots on the same page, but with my monitor's limitations, I can't make them out. I have a very good graphics program but with a crappy monitor, it makes it very difficult.

  6. I'm glad to hear that the "dry spell" of games is not only around me. But, I do wonder why. I remember not that long ago going into my local thrift store and seeing a load of games in the bin, now I'm lucky to find just one game (assuming again that it's not the Combat or Pac-Man game). My best guess is that people are realizing that games are popular again and instead of donating them, they jump on the band-wagon and try to sell them on eBay. I'm going to Florida next week with my wife and son to see her mother. She said there are quite a few flea and thrift stores there, so maybe my luck will change.

  7. Was wondering if anyone had any good finds. I did so-so; found 2 Coleco Gemini controllers, Atari 2600 Mountain King, boxed Tennis, and Eggomania. They also had a boxed Sega Genesis for only $15, but I passed it up. For some reason, that system never did anything for me. I wish I could have found more, but am just happy that I did find something. It seems harder and harder to find games in the wild around me (except for like 25 copies of Combat or some other VERY common game.

  8. I didn't think it existed for Atari either. But apparently, after looking on the internet, it did exist for the Atari computers. A program called "Oregon" produced by MECC (Minnesota Educational Computing Consortium) was released for Apple, which later become known as "Oregon Trail". And apparently in the 80's, the game was ported to Atari, Commodore 64, and Radio Shack. The following link is where I found this out:

    Interesting.......

Although, I'm not sure if any carts still exist today......

  9. These are some that I know of where I believe 2 players can play at the same time. It's been awhile since I played 2 player games for the NES, so I might be wrong on a few of them, but here goes:

    10 Yard Fight

    Anticipation

    Baseball

    Blades of Steel

    Bomberman

    Bubble Bobble

    Contra

    Dr. Mario

    Family Feud

    Gauntlet

    Ikari Warriors

    John Elway's Quarterback

Jordan VS Bird: One on One

    Karate Champ

    Legendary Wings

    Marvel's X-men

    Pro Wrestling

    NARC

    NFL Football

    Rampage

    RBI Baseball

    RBI Baseball 3

    Ring King

    Sky Kid

    Smash TV

    Soccer

    Spy VS Spy

    Stinger

    Tag Team Wrestling

    Tecmo Baseball

    WWF Wrestlemania

    Xenophobe

    X-men

    Yoshi's Cookie

These are just the ones I can remember. I'm sure there are a lot more out there though. Hopefully this helps.

  10. I am ordering them from Best Electronics (www.best-electronics-ca.com). The parts I am ordering are the slide switch (for the on/off) and 2 momentary switches (reset and game select). They go for $2.50 each and I am told that they are exactly the same as the original. I'm just not "electronics gifted" and not really sure how easy or hard they are to put in. I figure that it can't be that difficult.

  11. I just ordered slide and momentary replacement switches for my atari 2600. Is there a place with instructions on how to change them or do I need to have an "experienced" person do it. Is it simple enough for someone as "electronically challenged" as myself can do?

  12. I have a PAL game that I tried to get working. My TV does not have the vertical hold, so I tried hooking the system up through my VCR. The screen still rolls. These were the only two options I found so far. I was hoping someone might be able to shed some more light on this. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
