  1. An easy way to tell is look into end of the cart. If there is only one part of the PCB sticking out, it's a 2600 cart; if there is one big piece in the middle and one small piece on each side of it (3 in all) it's probably a 7800 cart. Is the cart's label present? Does it say what system? Or maybe a manufacturer?
  2. quote I'm not exactly sure if there would be any legality issues in using those 2 names. "Evil Dead" was a movie out a while back and I think with sequels, and "Resident Evil" is a video game on Playstation and Dreamcast platforms.
  3. I don't have any other "working" units. Just ones for parts. I'll try the "jiggle" thing.
  4. The game is Kaboom! by Activision. The chip is still covered by the shielding and I can't see enough under the shielding to see if there is a sticker. All there is on the board is the chip and the shielding. From what I can tell, all the contacts are clean (they are shiny) and the traces are in tact.
  5. I re-inspected the board, and from what I can tell (using a magnifying glass) there are no breaks or shorts. Everything "appears" to be in working order. The eraser did take off a little more from the contacts, but only a little. I'll try testing it again when I get home. If it still doesn't work, oh well, I'll call it a lost cause. Maybe someone has some uses for a non-working cart?? Hmmm... a possible new topic..... I use my no-longer working cd's as coasters or frisbees. LOL Thanks for the advice.
  6. Hope someone can give me a few pointers on this. I have a game that I have cleaned extensively with rubbing alcohol. It didn't work. I even then removed the board (the screws were already exposed), gave it a more thorough cleaning with rubbing alcohol, and still didn't work. But yet, all my other games work fine. Usually alcohol turned any other non-working game to working. Is there another way to clean it, or is there a way I can find out what's wrong with the game itself? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  9. Not sure exactly where to post this, so I'm posting in a few spots. I have a PAL version of Decathalon that I can't play. It does play in my system but scrolls and my TV doesn't have a vertical hold. The only problem with the cartridge are that the screw holes are exposed, but it is the Decathalon game. I am willing to sell it cheap or trade it for any game I don't have (even common). I have about 93 games but am always looking for ones I don't have. Let me know if interested.

  11. How much you would be interested in selling them for? I've been looking for a while for the supercharger.
  12. YUCK!!! I guess some people would buy anything, but this is pushing it. LOL
  13. I would say it's a pretty good find. All that matters is that you are happy with what you got and comfortable for what you paid.
  14. Here is another Crazy Climber auction. No pictures this time though. This is a 0 feedback seller with some negative feedback. I thought I would bring this to everyone's attention, espically with the Bug90 auctions going on. Here's the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=1721512134 I have also posted this on the eBay message board.

  16. When I tried to do research on the net, the only PAL version I found was a white label. All the other versions are blue with just AZ-030 as the model number. I thought the E might stand for Europe, but wasn't sure.
  17. I have a cart (EAZ-030) Activision Decathlon. It has a purple label written in English and French. When I try to play it, it just scrolls. This is a PAL version right? Even with the E in the number? I wanted to make sure because I'm unfamiliar with PAL games. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
  18. Hello all. I'm new to this site. I've been collecting Atari 2600 for about 6 months now, and had somewhat of an interesting find yesterday. My wife and I stopped at one yard sale and I noticed a metal bucket. I couldn't help noticing it because I almost tripped over it. LOL Inside was a NES system (looked complete). I asked her how much she wanted for it and she said $5.00. I asked her if she knew if it was all there and she said, "you know what, just take it, bucket and all. I know nothing of these". Amazed, I was finally able to utter out "ok, thanks". When we got back to the car, we sifted through it. Inside was the NES deck, 2 controllers, all cords, Tecmo Wrestling (complete & boxed), Rad Racer 2(complete & boxed), Mario Brothers/Duck Hunt Cartridge, Light Gun, 2 Atari 2600 games (Ghost Manor/Spike's Peak and Tunnel Runner), and a few knicknacks, like a bag of shark teeth(nasty) and something like a Precious Moments figurine. When I got home, everything worked. I thought this was a great find (considering it was FREE) and thought I would share it because I will probably never find anything like it again.
