  1. So, I picked up an Atari Flashback 2 the other day, and was thinking I could rig it up as something of an oldschool arcade-esque game table, complete with arcade sticks. Looking at the specs and pinouts of the controllers, and having disected one, it looks pretty doable. I then did some reading about the paddles, which also look pretty rigable (just looks like a rheostat connected to a few of the pins unused in the normal controllers, with the button wiring left as it is. The thing is though, I cant seem to find any information about the rating of the rheostat. Just guessing the part could end up with a paddle that only moves halfway, or one thats overtly tight (quarter turn makes the paddle max out)). I was wondering if anyone here knew where I could find the information I'm after. Thing I might also take a look at the power/reset/difficulty buttons, and see if I couldn't through switches on the top of the game table (for ease of op). Anyways, any suggestions/information would be awesome. Thanks.
  2. just saw the "no flashback stuff here" warning, sorry. but, I am interested in trying to build a paddle for a dedicated gametable rig using a flashback. My understanding is that the heart of the beast is pretty simmiliar to the original 2600, and after looking at some electronics porn (diagrams of pinouts) and disecting the controllers that came with it, I'm pretty sure it's doable. The only problem is, I have no idea what the rating on the original rheostats in the paddles were. Taking a guess at it could result in paddles that only move the cursor halfway, or ones that are overtly tight, and a quarter turn results in full movement. I'd like something thats fairly accurate. any help/suggestions would be awesome. thanks.
