I was at the show and had a great time too! I helped part of the time with the Las Vegas Pinball Booth for Tim Arnold with my buddy Walt. Had an awesome time playing all the old arcade games that were on the floor, but man are they a pain in the butt to move! I thought one of the coolest booths was run by Dan Kramer, a former Atari employee who had some great items from the good old days at his workplace, and a bunch of great stories about working there. He had some awesome rare items he let us admire, including a single paddle/Joystick combo controller for the unreleased Atari Wireless system. Hey it's only one controller, but considering how rare they are I thought it was cool just to hold on to! I was very impressed with the Dragon's Lair 3D they had up and running as well. Best part of the show though was afterwards.. If anyone knows about Tim Arnold he's got one of the largest pinball collections in the world and Video Games as well. Each year at the show he even gives away a full sized machine. I've gotten to know Tim through my friend Walt, and helped him with the show, and breaking down the booth post-show. Well Walt had this TV with Built in NES unit (yuk), and there was another person there with a full sized KLAX machine. Walt loves that game, so he traded the person his TV for the KLAX. (He's so annoying like this getting full sized arcade games on the cheap). He comes over to the booth and tells Tim, hey look at the KLAX I got. Tim looks at it and says I'll trade you the Battlezone I have for it. (It was one of the give-away machines, but didn't get picked). Walt says sure. Boom done deal.... So at this point, I slightly ticked...you see Battlezone was been my favorite game since I first played it over 20 years ago. I've always wanted one, and even deluded myself into thinking my parents would buy me one for Xmas....So now Walt's got one and he's like, "Your not mad are you? Sorry but it was a good deal." He keeps this up for about an hour as we load Tim's machines he brought for play in the truck. Walt has been interested in buying a Gorf from Tim's collection for some time now for $250.00. Finally Walt tells me he can't keep me like this, and tells me to give him the money for his Gorf (which I made at the auction the previous day), and the Battlezone is mine. Long story, longer MY (boy that feels good) Battlezone now proudly sits in my living room where it has belonged for so long! It's also my first full sized game as well. It's in great shape mechanically, and only needs some small cosmetic work, and considering what I paid for the stuff I got lots of $$'s for at the Auction, I made out great. It also does my heart good to see my son playing and liking the game a lot...a 2nd generation Battlezoner is created! Sorry about the long post, but in a nutshell..It was a good show! Evan J. Malik

Yeah the DX is nice, but I've never seen one in the wild. It's hard to imagine they actually could build it to be even heavier, but the empty space is nice to hold the disks. I've always thought the C-64 was a great classic gaming machine, and bringing it there may give someone else a chance to use it a bit more than me, as well as get me some funds to spend at the show, (or to save to get my ultimate-a full size Battlezone machine-but that's a different thread.) I've toyed with the idea of bringing my Atari Age collection to the show as well, but since I've had them from kid-hood, I don't think I could part with them. Heck, some still have my original mailing labels on them.....too bad I couldn't convince mom to let me get 2-3 dozen quadruns though... Evan

Hi there! O.K. So I don't post much, but I love the site and would like a badge if possible. If it could read Evan J. Malik that would be fine! Thanks! Evan

Well, I don't have too much 2600 stuff to trade, but I have a Coleco Tabletop Pac-Man game in a box, A Vectrex with a game, and the "portable" Commadore SX-64 computer. I'm bringing these to the auction, to hopefully get some of the 2600 goodies! Evan

Hmm I wonder if someone could modify the code from Stampede to make the mine cart section of the game work. Indy and crew are the horse, modified into a mine cart, the lasso becomes the whip,, and the cattle the Thuggie Guards....Now if it only had the parachute for jumping off any Mesa's that come up! Thanks for the tip! I've always wanted to get one of the Heavy Sixers, as well as get a decent box for a system. I bid on it, now I just have to cross my fingers! I first noticed this version when my Buddy calls me one day saying he must have a prototype unit since it was so heavy. He doesn't have access to the net, and I thought about letting him think he got a one of a kind unit, but I decided to be nice and clue him in once I did the research on this great board. But darn it, I sure wanted one after that! Evan J. Malik
