DC back on track? Try R.E.D.! Should also have a sequel out this year!

Hi there! Just figured that it's been over two years since I wrote my last proper entry here. I wonder if I should possibly blog some more about my Capcom-Mania here. As you may know from some of my posts in classic/modern gaming, I'm trying to 100% complete every European released Capcom game in existance, more or less in chronological order. Right now I'm playing "X-Men - Children of the Atom" on the Playstation, which is the #63 Capcom game I'm playing in this 'mission'. Out of the previous 62 I managed to complete 61, as I gave up on 100% completing Mega Man Powered Up after three months. I'm close on giving up on X-Men CotA as well, I'm playing it since mid-february The other 61 I finished completely - all endings, all characters, all unlockables, all trophies, all achievements. What follows is the list of games I'm already done with. Please let me know if you would be interested in reading articles about the games I'm struggling with. Bought my copy two days ago on launch, but didn't get around to play it yet. Since it supports 4 controllers at once, I wonder if I should buy 2 more Dualshocks now...

I'm usually a rather late adopter, so while watching the spectacle of a console war with popcorn in hands, my own money isn't influencing it. My main console currently is still the PS3 where I'm almost done with 2010 titles these days. I may get a 3DS in a month or two, that'd be the newest toy in our house then

Since EA just abandoned their Online-Pass following "Customer Feedback", I wonder if they'll now reintroduce it

I haven't tried it yet, but Marvel Super Heroes was part of the recently released "Marvel vs. Capcom Origins" PSN/XBLA package

It's official, I can't beat the game with Spiral on default settings! But instead of turning the difficulty down, I just saw that it is also possible to increase the number of continues. So next week I'll try with 9 instead of 5 continues, which might do the trick as well

Kinda weird train of thought. I assume the consequence of locking out used games will be, that the consumers are focusing their money on quality games with very long playing time and huge replay value. Amazingly, producing exactly this kind of games is why Nintendo actually does *not* need to lock out used games Reggie Fils-Aime: So if you want to see a positive aspect in Microsofts actions: It will enforce the development of better games

I think Capcom does a somewhat respectable job on the 3DS so far, I just though it was quite lame to not include the "Arcade" roster to SFIV 3DS, hence forced to choose I'd rather get it for the 360. I also don't get why the Lost Planet game didn't see a western release or why Phoenix Wright must be download only, but compared to the Vita is the 3DS any Capcom Fans Dream Machine! Mega Man 6 in Europe, I still can't believe it!

I like the idea of commanding "XBOX: Shutdown!" when visiting someone playing it

Another month down the road and I'm stuck with Spiral this time. Okay, I was on vacation for a week and got sidetracked by Fire Emblem some, but still I think I'll again set up a deadline for this week - or I'll turn down the difficulty next monday! Unlike e.g. Omega Red is Spiral actually a lot of fun to play, she's just pretty weak and most of her "powers" just feel like gimmicks

Just finished my fourth Fire Emblem title, "Path of Radiance" on the Cube. Two more to go, with "Shadow Dragon" already sitting on the shelf

Almost forgot, during vacation I finished Ghost Trick for the DS. Nice little game, albeit much more story than challenge

Hm... I'm sorry, I don't think I saw anything that looked like a branching path to me. I think you can get different ranks for each level though, maybe I just wasn't good enough to unlock a different path. Basically I just played the normal game until I got the credits rolling

I managed to avoid all press at least so far that I did not know who the enemy really was, so while not that surprising, I was still glad that it wasn't just a random someguy as the trailers would make you think. And then I thought it was a nice touch to reverse the probably most significant scene of the classic series, even when it had less impact on an emotional level. But then the orignal cast had three seasons to grow on me I think the new cast does a respectable job, IMO they fared a lot better than the original cast did in their first cinema outing (I especially like Karl Urban since "R.E.D." and I think his McCoy is pretty good.)

Glad to hear that the books worked for someone. Personally I'll decide whether I want to see Ep. 7 or not based on upcoming trailers though

It's "Thrawn" and this book trilogy was rather lame, so we're quite lucky if they're not using them as base for the third trilogy script. I was referring to the Bounty Hunter Trilogy though, which in most part runs parallel to Ep. 4 - Ep. 6, telling what Boba was doing in the background all the time. My only and actual point though was that as long as it features a surviving Boba Fett they can do what they want in Ep. 7
