  1. Hi there! Same here. Greetings, Manuel
  2. Hi there! Probably not. And if I did, I guess my return wouldn't be that triumphant anyway, because it seems that I would have to be competing with you. Greetings, Manuel
  3. Hi there! Hm... I think that when you have an idea for writing a game yourself, you should best study a game that meets similar requirements. If you just want to learn how to program the 2600 at all, your probably better off studying Andrews tutorials first. Greetings, Manuel
  4. Hi there! It'd be a single-screen "Diablo" type game, with gameplay merged from "Sword of Fargoal" and "Rogue" called "Rogue Sword" It'd need a small set of dungeon tiles, and lots of small animated monsters: Also a title and an maybe an ending screen. The title screen can probably be derived from the Atari ST version of Rogue: As I understand it, the 7800 can do a 16 color title screen, only half of the horizontal resolution would be lost as it does 160 double-width pixels. Attached is an automated conversion I did with a tool. Greetings, Manuel
  5. Hi there! So do your answers in this thread indicate your triumphant return as game programmer? Greetings, Manuel
  6. Hi Adam, I understand your offer is for the 2600 only? Could you imagine doing the full artwork job for a complete 7800 game (Title Screen, Tileset, Animated Sprites, etc.)? Greetings, Manuel
  7. Hi there! The smallest 7800 PCB was 16K, the largest 144K (also a 512K one that was made but never used). For bankswitching info see Eckhard's 7800 bankswitching guide. I was more asking what is recommended to use now for the contest, rather than what things had been done in the past. I'd guess writing a game assuming a POKEY chip on the PCB would out of scope for example? More or less I'm interested what cartridges can AA produce? Just unswitched 7808, 7816, 7832 and 7848 cartridges or switched cartridges with more ROM as well? (Best would certainly be if SG with 8 16K ROM banks would be supported.) Greetings, Manuel
  8. Hi there! Does it have a chapter telling you how to replace Intellivision controlers with something usefull? Greetings, Manuel
  9. Hi there! Ok, that raises another question about the specs of available PCB(s). What are the recommended/available ROM sizes (and eventually supported BS schemes)? Greetings, Manuel
  10. Hi there! Sounds good to me. Except the trademark/copyright thing. Can't you change that into "use at own risk" or so? Greetings, Manuel
  11. Hi there! Guess my favourite here is Alien. Greetings, Manuel
  12. Hi there! I always thought of it as single-screen E.T. Greetings, Manuel
  13. Hi there! Now that's weird... according to this: http://tarr.uspto.gov/servlet/tarr?regser=...&entry=78490200 It never was trademarked until last month Greetings, Manuel[/b]
  14. Hi there! Agreed! This one is begging to be done on the VCS. Hm... too bad that with all the recent Infogrames incidents no one will risk wasting time on this now. Are there any similar Arcades? Or maybe porting Commodores "Jupiter lander" instead? Greetings, Manuel
  15. Hi there! Wow, they go away really fast these days! Congrats guys! Greetings, Manuel
  16. Hi there! I really like some of the M-Network titles: Adventures of Tron, Air Raiders & Dark Cavern for example are some great games! Greetings, Manuel
  17. Hi there! IMO INV+ is a little bit different. Thrust+ Platinum didn't change the gameplay at all, but INV+ does. Actually IMO INV wasn't really finished before the +. Hm... getting an idea for my "Player's Choice" vote here... Greetings, Manuel
  18. Hi there! London Blitz: Greetings, Manuel
  19. Hi there! Uihjah... only two weeks until the voting begins and I still don't have a clue what to vote yet... What choices are nominated for HotY so far? Climber 5, FlapPing, INV+ and Seawolf? Tough competition... Anything else that'll be ready in time?!? Greetings, Manuel
  20. Hi there! Wow, took me only one year to research the second entry for my Top 10: - Cosmic Guerilla Unfortunately someone already did my first entry by now... Greetings, Manuel

  23. Hi there! Does anyone know how many levels this game has? I think I never even made it past the second... Greetings, Manuel
  24. Hi there! Hm... is it the same as the "SABA" videogame that was sold in Europe? I've seen one on a flea market recently then... Greetings, Manuel
