  1. Just finished Uncharted 4 (PS4) last night. Not sure what to make of it. With several hundreds of people working on it, how can it be that nobody notices how boring it is? If it were a movie it'd be the Direct2DVD Indiana Jones clone nobody would ever watch... The totally surprise- and substanceless script aside, the gun & climb gameplay is a similar boring copy & paste job of every other Uncharted game so far. Basically I just sat through it because it was easy enough - the only really cool chapter was #15 or #16, were the one and only (but still foreseeable) story twist happens at the end...
  2. During the last 14 days I played Resident Evil Zero (PS4) a lot, besides beating it I also played the Leech Hunter Mini Game to an A rank I was originally aiming at the platinum trophy for this one, but had to give up where it required beating the entire game without saving. Playing the game for over three hours straight drives my blood pressure to unhealthy levels, so I decided to give up at this point. Capcom games beaten in 2017: Breath of Fire - Dragon Quarter & Resident Evil Zero
  3. Phew, over 50% of trophies collected in the first playthrough. Next steps are getting an A rank in the Leech Hunter game and a run through Wesker mode without saving This clearly is the bad one of the first 5 RE games. All the item management feels more like 'work' than 'game' and it seems the team finally grew really tired of making the same game again once a year...
  4. It's been about a decade I think since I first finished this on the cube. Meanwhile it's out on the PS4 and I'm gonna try to get the platinum for it next Since they were on sale I got all 4 costumes for the start and launched an easy game to warm up and enjoy the story for the first required playthrough.
  5. Continuing my mission in the 7th year, I spent the last 3 weeks with Breath of Fire - Dragon Quarter (PS2). I played through it twice to see more of the story, but it's not 100%, as I don't see the the point of speed-running a 30 hour rpg for getting the best ranking Capcom games beaten in 2017: Breath of Fire - Dragon Quarter
  6. I started playing MGS Phantom Pain last night. That series never really klicked for me and the first hour once again left me in the cold
  7. First success for 2017 is Arkham Knight (PS4) - oh dear I thought this one would never end. Even after completing the main story you still have to do half a dozen sidequests before the credits are rolling
  8. You've probably noticed by now that it basically stays like that until the final dungeon. There it will freak out a bit, as the entire dungeon will start spinning around at certain crossings
  9. Just started into Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright – Ace Attorney. Just like expected it feels Laytonish in the Layton parts Attorneyesque in the Ace Attorney parts. So just as I thought, I like the courtroom scenes, but not the riddle parts. Hm... not sure what they expect from such a crossover, it sure won't ever make me like Layton games
  10. Dollars Trilogy, Django, The Great Escape, The Crimson Pirate, Logan's Run, Barbarella, The 36th Chamber of Shaolin or The Magnificent Seven?
  11. None of the games you mentioned qualify as "system seller", that's all I'm saying. Rez is the only one of them at with a green metascore and it's still just a niche title.
  12. I can't see into the future either, just saying that for example 3D movies are "coming" since 1890 and yet ~ this year 3D television died once again, with all major players like Samsung, LG, Phillips and even Sony reducing or quitting production entirely. Also: *cough* Virtual Boy *cough*... The mid-generation thing is just an extra problem it'll face. Every serious game producer will go for the maximum user base - e.g. not even Nintendo makes "exclusive" NEW 3DS games. So while Batman VR may be a nice mini-game collection and there's currently all sorts of quasi tech-demos sold for 60 bucks, you won't ever see a AAA title like The Witcher for it. Your best bet will be hybrid titles like RE7, where most players will just turn the gimmick off after a while, like the 3D on the 3DS.
  13. Hm... I assume the VR will do what every mid-generation console gimmick does - die. So enjoy it while it lasts
  14. Final Capcom game for 2016 I'd assume, I just beat Ace Attorney - Justice for All (3DS) Capcom games beaten in 2016: Mega Man Battle Network, One Piece Mansion, Genma Onimusha, Resident Evil: Survivor 2, Mega Man Battle Network 2, Auto Modellista, Onimusha 2, Mega Man Zero, Dino Stalker & Ace Attorney - Justice for All
  15. Still dividing time between Batman and Life is Strange, but I already have MGS5, SFV and The Witcher 3 on the playstack
  16. So, this week I beat Dino Stalker (PS2) on easy and normal This is one of the few games where I'm not aiming for 100% completion - I have neither CRT nor a Guncon and it just doesn't feel like it's meant to be seriously played with a dualshock. Capcom games beaten in 2016: Mega Man Battle Network, One Piece Mansion, Genma Onimusha, Resident Evil: Survivor 2, Mega Man Battle Network 2, Auto Modellista, Onimusha 2, Mega Man Zero & Dino Stalker
  17. Just started the 2nd game from Ace Attorney Trilogy
  18. I beat Mega Man Zero (NDS) today, first the regular game, then another run through the easy mode of the DS collection Capcom games beaten in 2016: Mega Man Battle Network, One Piece Mansion, Genma Onimusha, Resident Evil: Survivor 2, Mega Man Battle Network 2, Auto Modellista, Onimusha 2 & Mega Man Zero
  19. I've been playing Mega Man Battle Network 2 on the pad while I was in hospital, but I think that was the only time I touched the U this year. The Kids use it some for Youtube when the TV is occupied.

  22. Quite fast. I usually insert new games on wednesday so they're ready on the weekend.
  23. Kinda misusing the 3DS currently, as I'm playing Mega Man Zero on it via the DS Collection
  24. I've been grinding through Onimusha 2 (PS2) for the last six weeks. I beat it 4 times, focusing on each of the 4 support character storylines once. One of the runs was on hard, so I basically unlocked everything except 2 extra costumes, which would require at least another 3 playthroughs Instead I unlocked and beat all three mini games Capcom games beaten in 2016: Mega Man Battle Network, One Piece Mansion, Genma Onimusha, Resident Evil: Survivor 2, Mega Man Battle Network 2, Auto Modellista & Onimusha 2
  25. I started playing this just as well. I'm quite enjoying this, it seems skipping Origins helped my Batman fatigue
