Hi there! Like the Wii is currently slowing down on game releases that catch my interest, my playtime is slowing down as well. Still had a few titles spinning though The list of games I'm done with: Zelda TP, Excite Truck, Metal Slug Anthology, Geometry Wars, Bully , Zack & Wiki , SMG, Disaster , MP 3 , Fire Emblem , de Blob, Lego Indiana Jones, No More Heros , MadWorld, Wario Land, RE4, RE:UC, Another Code , Cursed Mountain , MP Trilogy, RE: DC, Firefighter, Dead Space , Muramasa, TvsC, Silent Hill, Crystal Bearers, Little King's Story New entries in my Wii collection: Red Steel 2 => Despite struggling some with the right-handed-only controls and a broken WM+ right before the end, this overall was an okay 10 hour ride, comparable to Force Unleashed. I wasn't overly impressed by WM+ or the story of the game, but I've seen worse. Fragile Dreams => A somewhat tolerable story and good music, often good looking but also motion sickness inducing graphics, it actually was the mostly un-fun gameplay that made me quit playing it after 3 hours already. Silent Hill is a much better game within the torchlight genre! Spiderman - Web of Shadows => With a good enough presentation and mostly working, yet somewhat overloaded motion controls, now a good 5 hours into it - I must say this has been a lot of fun so far! ========================================== I got 500 points returned for the broken Last Ninja 3 game and immediately spent those on: Pop Them - Drop Them - Samegame => Ah well, I never played one of those before and couldn't find a better 500 points title anyway. I think I easily got my €5 worth of playtime out of it. It got boring soon after that though... ========================================== My current shopping list: Overlord Dark Legend => Down to 30 Euro already, so I should get it pretty soon now Sin & Punishment 2 => It looks brilliant and I've been a Treasure fan for ages now Prince of Persia => From all hearsay so far, this seems to be a surprisingly good game in the Wii version. I'll just give it a try. No More Heroes 2 => Suda 51! No More info required! ========================================== My future Hopelist: Samurai Heroes 3 => Hehe, Thank heavens Capcom Japan starts delivering again, putting an end to all the trash releases that the hopeless American office was cranking out... Tales of Graces => Being a mothership title of a major series, this should finally end the RPG draught on the Wii, shouldn't it? Metroid Other M => All I've seen or heard from this game so far was great, I can't wait to play this sure-fire masterpiece. Enclave => Okay so it's another XBOX conversion. Here's hope it'll become a very good one though The Tower of Shadow => Could this be a really good game or is it just some more gimmicky toying with a physics engine? Sid Meiers Pirates! => I'm buying and playing every single version of this game for almost 25 years already and will do so for another 25. I wanted to have this game for the Wii since the day I own it  Greetings, Manuel

Oh dear, I've been trying to catch up with what Billy Idol did the past 20 years and this is by far the coolest music video I've seen in a while. (Yup, That's indeed Billy Idol and Slash covering "In the Summertime" ): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8ilbDwkooA

Not sure if you're already following "Capcoms Teen Idol" thingy, but it'd sure help the case if Demon's Crest made it far there. I'm covering the known details in a thread here: http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/161563-fans-of-demons-crest-unite/

Consider me interested in both, albeit they aren't available here yet(?). Baroque might already be available in the UK, not 100% sure, but Shiren definitely didn't even make it over the pond thus far.

I'm a solo gamer at heart. I originally thought MH3 would also offer a big, story driven offline campaign, but in many reviews I read that it mostly just feels like playing a series of standard missions alone. I'm absolutely not interested in MMORG or online coop. But if you're into these I assume it's as good as it gets on the Wii
-
Surprisingly enough, PoP actually did just end on my shopping list - a minor miracle
-
Sam & Max Season Two finally came out here, so I updated the list again. The first one is down to 20 Euro already, so I might just give it a try soon

Hi there! Wild times ahead once again! Today finally a german "The Damned" date has been announced! On 16th June they'll play an Open Air Show on Castle Abenberg (near Nuremberg), together with Billy Idol! http://www.feuertanz-festival.de/abenberg2010/ The ticket price is an insane 53 Euro and it's a 3 hour ride, but since it's the only German show announced so far, I'll definitely be there I've never seen Billy Idol before, but I hear he's still got it, no? Greetings, Manuel

Red Steel 2 only required recalibrating once per hour, but I wasn't impressed by the WM+ at all. Unfortunately the RS2 developers assume there live only right handed people in this world, so some moves like the overhead block didn't really work for me. And while most movements were indeed precise, the fighting in No More Heroes was actually more fun. Since a 2nd interesting WM+ game isn't even announced right now, I think I'll just sell my Red Steel 2 as complete bundle again, with the WM+.
-
I can only assume that Red Steel 2 maybe requires much wilder movements than the other two? Still, that shouldn't kill a motion controller, eh? Or maybe because of the Nunchuck? Does Tiger Woods even require it? Once I figured out what to do they where really fast. I sent the broken WM+ in and got a brandnew unit returned 4 days later. Considering snail mail running times it couldn't be much faster

Uhhh. I just tried playing the first mission of the 4th story, but I really can't stand this game a minute longer. It's easy to see why it never got a sequel. I really hope Interplays second try at an AD&D game, "Descent to Undermountain", is a better game. Watch this space for "Fallout", the next game I'll be Interplaying!

Well, I was searching Youtube high and low for the original LSI video from The Shamen to use it for some smart sounding answer, but well they apparently choose one of the evil record labels Hm... weird, they seem to have any other video from the album ready to go... poor Shamen. Definitely the best 90's band time has forgotten (Well, maybe 2nd after The KLF ) Brilliant, totally rhythm based music: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mu3eaTDRnTo Ah well, why am I writing about the Shamen instead of the game at hands? - Because it bores me to death! Third story, same three missions, nothing more to say Back to the Shamen, I'm sure after their classic Boss Drum you want more, so there you go: Comin' On Strong Ebeneezer Goode

They have a real Cray-1 in the Deutsches Museum in Munich. The computer section is one of my favorite places in there. I totally love going there. The most impressive exhibited object is an orignal V2 rocket though, which was assembled in the centre of a spiral staircase inside the building BTW: If you ever come to Germany, make sure to visit the Europapark in Rust. They have the Russian "Mir" Space Station there. It's not just a replica, but the second original unit, which was used for crew training on earth!

Finally! The Poll is up! For those who have a unity account, Demon's Crest needs your vote now, to make it into the round of the final 10! Go Firebrand!

Yawn... After playing the next triple of missions, I can see the problem the reviewers had with this game. All missions play exactly the same! You start with 2 basic golems, grow your army and slowly but steadily conquer one map after the other... Absolutely no sign of something challenging happening, other than getting RSI from the thousands of clicks the interface requires for everything A positive thing I can say is that the audio is once again exceptional. Beginning with Dragon Wars did Interplay manage to keep the highest quality level here since.
-
Well, it wasn't exactly overnight, but at least they did replace it for free
-
It definitely makes you wonder why he's limited to plain old Kickboxing within the game

Hi there! Interplaying Blood & Magic (1996): Judging by the sound of most reviews I read regarding Blood & Magic, it is supposed to be an average game at best. Just as with Shattered Steel though, I simply tried the original demo that was released 15 years ago in order to promote the game. Once again I had a fun time doing that, so I bought me a copy of the game! Of course, being an official AD&D Forgotten Realms game also helped the descission, since I'm a big fan of the "Dark Elf" novels from R.A.Salvatore Back to the game, which AFAIK is the one and only production of a developer called "Tachyon Studios". Surprisingly enough, it is not an RPG which kinda seemed like the natural choice for a conversion of a Pen & Paper RPG sytem. No, it is a RTS game, just like Warcraft/Dune 2. It's a bit slower than those and has a lot less resource management. In fact your only resource is mana, which ís simply generated through the creation of a basic sort of golems. With enough mana, these can be transmogrified (digivolved?) into more powerful beings, basically all sorts of AD&D creatures. The campaign is divided into 5 standalone sub stories, where each is offering 3 different missions. What's cool here, is that the game tells you the beginning of a story, and then you're free to choose which side you want to play, eg. either the defenders or the invaders of a country in the first one. Tonight I already played through the first story, which was rather easy so far. I immediately ran into a known game killing bug in the third mission, but managed to workaround this in my second try, by not saving during the complete two hours I needed to beat it Version Played: Original German CD-ROM version. How to Run: It runs absolutely fine on my system. IP Status: I think the AD&D license is currently still with Atari. Greetings, Manuel

Just to keep you updated on "Capcom Retro Idol", all participating games have their defending articles ready now and the voting phase is supposed to begin tomorrow: http://www.capcom-unity.com/jgonzo/blog/2010/05/17/capcom_retro_idol_-_here_are_your_finalists

Maybe the marketing division can help with this => http://www.lemon64.com/adverts/full/human_killing_machine_01.jpg You know, "He's the meanest son of a snake you've ever seen!"

Hi there! Well, well... sometimes I play games because they're supposed to be good and sometimes... ...sometimes I just like watching a trainwreck Now, what do we have here actually? Imagine one of the worst developers on the planet, Tiertex, just delivered totally horrible home computer conversions of Capcoms Street Fighter. - The C64 version e.g. has a Lemon64 rating of 2.5! With such a brilliant "game engine" already in hands, they had the fabulous idea of using it to make a Street Fighter clone Of course, they ended up with a game that was at least as bad, only this time lacking the brand recognition To get the only good thing I can say about it out of the way, it has really okay SID music. And while the backdrops in some of the stages look tolerable, it all goes downhill from there. The animation of all fighters is looking very bad in motion and any kind of playability is not existant. I basically made it through the whole game (10 different fights) executing a single standard punch over and over again. (Whenever I tried doing anything different, the computer knocked me down with 1-2 hits ) Of course, the game just loops back to the first fight, once you beat the last enemy... Some future day the "Playing..." series may see another fighting game in the form of "Budokan", but first it'll continue with something else. Greetings, Manuel
-
I plan on buying it when it gets released in 14 days here
-
Bah! Since none on lemon64 had an idea either, I switched to another crack of this game with a level skip trainer to bypass this level. Only three levels later I hit another one seemingly unsovable. It had a 35 second time limit and in my fastest try I didn't manage to clear half of it! In my rage I then just skipped through the rest of the levels to see that the game just loops back to the beginning... I should've known better, one definitely has to stay away from all Magic Bytes games. Some future day the "Playing..." series may see another puzzle game in the form of "Puzznic", but first it'll continue with something else.

Oh happy weekend, I just found "Spiderman - Web of Shadows" in the bargain bin for 10.-

Hi there! Enough with the clones! Today I tried a pretty original action puzzler: Normally I'm shying away from these, since they usually have 200 and more levels, but this one was advertized to have 27 only, so I gave it a try This is one of the rare playable games from German developer Magic Bytes. They usually did games with good graphics and music (Beam qualifies here as well!), but most of them where total disasters, often scoring less than 20% in magazines Well, this one was fun to play until the 16th or 17th level pictured above, where I have a feeling that it is unsolvable You see, you're controlling this small white ship and the goal of each level is to connect some kind of generators with energy beams. There's all kinds of tiles with certain effects, like teleporters, magnets, death tiles, etc. which usually make for a diverse and challenging level design. Now once I connect the beam on the bottom of this particular level though, which is required to open the door on top, at the same time it also blocks the way out to the exit on the bottom left I think there's either an additional teleporter missing in this levels design, or the active beam spot should've been on the right side instead of on the left on the start of the level. Ah well, I asked for help on lemon64, so we'll see tomorrow if I can possibly continue playing this game somehow Greetings, Manuel
