Hi there! Oh I'm such a poor soul! Since the last reports I only managed buying two Wii games! But at least one of them was quality! The list of games I'm done with: Wii Sports, Zelda TP, Excite Truck, Metal Slug Anthology, Geometry Wars, Bully , Eledees, Zack & Wiki , SMG, Death Jr., Battalion Wars 2, Disaster , MP 3 , Fire Emblem , Boom Blox, de Blob, Opoona, Lego Indiana Jones, Okami, No More Heros , MadWorld, Tunguska, Deadly Creatures, Force Unleashed, Wario Land, RE4, RE:UC, Tenchu 4 New entries in my Wii collection: Another Code R => The perfect counterpart to Zack & Wiki: Instead of puzzles it focuses more on the story and characters. Also great gamedesign, IMO a step up from outdated LucasArts paradigms! The Conduit => Played about halfway through the story mode. I'm getting motion-sickness from it and what I saw from the game didn't excite me enough to endure the symtoms a whole week... ========================================== My current shopping list: Anno => I learned that this version offers some simplistic coop tasks to perform for a second player, so I might even join my wife for a while Little Kings Story => Such a lovely gem, I definitely must have this! Overlord Dark Legend => A Pikmin for goths, yay! Metroid Prime Trilogy => No Brainer! Cursed Mountain => I'll give it a try. Hopefully the better Resident Evil game on the Wii! Mini Ninjas => The best Ninja game ever? At least on Wii I bet! Muramasa The Demon Blade => Such a beautiful art direction in this one, I hope the gameplay follows along. Rabbids Go Home! => I know it's just an average game underneath, but the kids love them rabbids Dead Space Extraction => Since Umbrella Chronicles already broke the ice, why not? ========================================== My future Hopelist: Monster Hunter 3 => Well, I'm usually no fan of Online games, but maybe this one changes everything? Tatsunoko vs. Capcom => Not my favourite genre, but so totally over the top and from Capcom? I'll have a look! Fragile => I love the setting and the art style and the atmosphere and it is confirmed for Europe! Yay! Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles => Since Umbrella Chronicles got very close to a from me, this one might just make it! Samurai Heroes 3 => Hehe, Thank heavens Capcom Japan starts delivering again, putting an end to all the trash releases that the hopeless American office was cranking out... Silent Hill => Most likely too scary for me, but I'm interested. Nurse! Greetings, Manuel

I think Bobs "Squish'em" desperately needs a good marketing campaign. Such a perfect game, it deserves to skyrocket into the Top 10! Even the StickyNotes Cart sold more! More Seriously, I'm wondering how fast it'll climb now. I'm certain by 2010 it arrives in the Top 20, it's über-awesome! I actually still need to order my copy as well (and also get Hunchy 2 along with it ), I'm just waiting to see if there's going to be any special christmas conditions

Heya, even Artie got Juno First before me! -
Hi there! One from the days when Atari was still called Infogrames! Well, I liked some of their Amiga games back in the day. Even when they mostly were just Atari ST ports, they still usally had very good graphics and music, plus that certain kind of french strangeness. In theory, Hostages could probably be considered the godfather of tactical squad shooters like e.g. Rainbow Six. Back in the day though, I remember it was more considered a terrorist themed mini game collection Still, a good one at that. Only recently I found out that there was a NES version and, as the regular readers of this column will know, I can never resist a 16>8 Bit conversion. Entitled "Rescue - The Embassy Mission" on the NES, this name change seems to be the major difference to the Amiga version already. Everything else made it to the grey box surprisingly intact. Certainly, the visuals lost some resolution and the audio some samples, but everything else is there: Positioning the snipers, sharpshooting through the scope, going down on ropes and the first person finale inside the embassy. Yet, while there's a lot of options to replay the mission on higher difficulties, one complete playthrough still takes only 10-15 minutes: Definitely no must have for a NES collection, but fun enough to kill a few terrorists minutes. Some future day the "Playing..." series may see another Infogrames game in the form of "North & South", but first it'll continue with something different. Greetings, Manuel

Any opinions on a game called Blast Works?
Cybergoth replied to Warriorisabouttodie's topic in Nintendo Wii / Wii U
I haven't seen any review yet and of course, High Voltage as developer doesn't raise much hope, but still, there is a small chance that the new Astro Boy game might deliver some old school shoot'em up goodness: -
Only a little more than three weeks now!

Uihjah, 50/50! Hehe, beat that Capcom! Seriously, it always makes me happy to see when someone likes one of my babies I assume you already have them blockbusters Thrust and Lady Bug? Else I can recommend Squish'em, my personal tip for the top! ...waiting for the christmas sale, so I can finally get Juno First on cart...

Maybe speed of movement? The Conduit moves faster than the more puzzle-oriented MP3. I had to quit again after ~45 minutes today, so I spent some time researching the issue and found this topic on the official Conduit forum dealing with motion sickness: http://forums.sega.com/showthread.php?t=284779 There's several people identifying the "reload blur" as main source for their problems, so I'll try deactivating it tomorrow. Maybe reducing the turn speed some also helps.

No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle
Cybergoth replied to vdub_bobby's topic in Nintendo Wii / Wii U
I'm counting the days until its release, expecting no less than a second Wii killer app from Suda51! -
Oh, what a niece piece of viral marketing! Thank heavens it's on-topic here and we're fans of Rising Star Games anyway
-
Yup, it dropped to 30.- on amazon.de two days ago I looks promising, but I'm not sure if I can fully enjoy it; I only played the first two missions tonight in about ~45 minutes, but I already started feeling motion-sick. I hope I can at least do one mission per night. (I often wonder what triggers it. I had zero problems with MP3 for example.)

I assume I'm the only one who ever clicks the "credits" buttons in video games? Because I just did for the Conduit. The main programmer listed is Ed Federmeyer - the guy who wrote Edtris for the 2600!

Well, I'd always like to see a disc'd Gradius or Jackal. Or considering Castlevania, a Wii version of this:

Hi there! I know I'm 30 years late to the party, but I'm just getting into "The Alarm". This two year old song about fighting cancer sounds so incredibly '76 - my absolute favourite: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ot26NBjxins Greetings, Manuel

Oh dear my American friends, the U.S. tour just got cancelled completely: On a more positive sidenote, I just learned that Therapy? will be visiting Augsburg in mid November. Been quite a while since I last saw them.

Best of Interplay (1988-1994)
Cybergoth replied to Cybergoth's topic in Classic Computing Discussion
I definitely need to do a follow-up to this poll sometimes, with choices from 1994 onwards. I'm missing more of Interplays 1994 releases, like Descent and Dungeon Master 2. -
