Oh dear, instead of being a step up from Force Unleashed, Star Wars rather seems to continue downward spiraling: http://uk.wii.ign.com/articles/103/1032044p1.html

Me neither, I ignored everything since Okami. But now they're back: From the upcoming Darkside Chronicles, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, Monster Hunter Tri to Samurai Heroes, I think I'll get all 4 of them!
-
Ah, I forgot about that. True, that's on my shopping list as well. Once I bought that and Dead Space and once I managed to sell Boom Blox, that makes two EA titles in my collection then, out of the 60+ Wii games they made. Capcom released 8 titles in Germany so far and I own 4 of them

Personally I don't give much about Edge reviews, they often seem to try to have a different opinion on things at all cost. So I read them more for entertainment value than for serious info about games That being said, I don't expect anything from Spore Hero either. With the possible exception of Dead Space, EA delivered nothing but pure throw-away trash for the Wii thus far. (A handfull of Boom Blox fanatics may disagree )

Hi there! Incredible story: http://kotaku.com/5374850/epic-mickey-revealed-warren-spector-speaks A Wii exclusive Mickey Mouse game, from Warren Spector! Greetings, Manuel

That book sure must be interesting to read! If you per chance liked the Bard's Tale games back in the day, I'm very positive you'd like Dragon Wars too. It pretty much is Bard's Tale 4, evolving some of the series concepts a bit further. The story telling is better and the auto-mapping and skill system are great, just like the improved graphics. In fact I read in an interview with the programmer that it was supposed to be Bard's Tale 4, until a few months before the release Interplay decided to become independent from EA and so they released it on their own. I think it really suffered from lacking the big name and from being still created on 8-Bit computers first. If you try it, for an advice: Stay clear off the Army! While it isn't a total dead end to the game, I definitely entered that part much too soon. The story continues somehow, but I think I lost quite some important battles along the way. ====== Anyway, I had a fun 5th and final night with the game. It's definitely an okay game worth a look Watch this space for "Star Trek: 25th Anniversary", the next game I'll be Interplaying!

Oh, all the ups and downs of an adventurers life! Today I gave up on completing the magic forest, the southern half just had too difficult battles for my party. I went on to explore a nearby town, only to get trapped there, ending in jail! And when I thought it couldn't get any worse, right after fighting my way out of jail again I somehow managed to get enlisted in the army, where I'm currently supposed to help besiege a castle. Here's where things get pretty interesting, since I'm actually stuck in the army of the bad guy, so I hope I'll figure out how to swap sides tomorrow

Wii - The Survival Horror Refugee Camp?
Cybergoth replied to Cybergoth's topic in Nintendo Wii / Wii U
I just updated the list on top with links to Winter and The Calling trailers. Also finally removed Sadness, that's really been just vaporware I think. Cursed Mountain already made it onto my shopping list, can't wait for the others to arrive As a bonus, here's a brandnew trailer for The Calling: -
Not much to report tonight. I made it through another ruins dungeon and am halfway through a magic forest. I started to specialize my characters some, making one of them an axe master, another a swords master, etc. One thing I wanted to mention is how complicated the game is controlled. E.g. if you want to heal someone with a bandage skill you need 6 keystrokes: U - Use something 5 - Select Player with Bandage Skill S - Use a Skill A - An Abillity Skill to be more precise B - Bandage actually 1 - On Player 1 If your whole party is hurt, repeat 6 more such sequences. Same goes for magic and combat. After a while you learn to type those sequences pretty fast, but convenient it's not...

Selling into slavery kinda worked. It actually got me into some slavery mines, but at least I managed to escape from there, then I was able to freely roam the continent. I made my way through two more smaller areas (dungeons?), one refugee camp and some ruins from a city that was apparently completely destroyed by a dragon I also had two more people joining my party, two guys named Ulrick and Louie, both welcome additions to our small group. So much for the first island on this continent, I'm more than ready now to advance to the next tomorrow!

Hi there! Interplaying Dragon Wars (1990): When everyone was waiting for Bard's Tale IV, Interplay gave us Dragon Wars instead. I'm not complaining though, since it seems that Dragon Wars breathed some fresh ideas into the stale Bard's Tale formula. Most notably did it get a Wastelandish skill system in addition to magic spells. Playing on a far away fantasy planet, the players start stranded in a prison-like town on a foreign continent. The parties first task is to break out of this place, while upping character levels and gathering equipment and gold as usual. It's an interesting start to the game, with surprisingly many story bits already. The graphics of this pure 3D dungeon crawl are a noticable improvement over The Bards Tale, albeit at the time they were terribly outdated when compared to Dungeon Master. (Of course, that's a common problem for almost *any* RPG that got released the first 5 years after Dungeon Master ) Since I hate mapping, I especially liked the auto mapping feature during tonights first adventures in the game. Dragon Wars also doesn't seem to be too hard - unlike those painfull first hours in The Bard's Tale did I get around quite a lot without dying After exploring the map as far as I could, I'm planing to sell myself into slavery tomorrow, as it seems to be the only way out! Version Played: Original, from "The Ultimate RPG Archives". How to Run: With disabled mouse it's running fine in DOSBox on 1000 cycles. IP Status: Still owned by Interplay. Greetings, Manuel

Tough competition from Zack & Wiki and Metroid Prime, but Fire Emblem tops all of them

After spending almost the whole weekend in Cyberspace, I beat "Neuromancer", the final A.I. in the game What a great ending. If only real life was anything like that: I must say I was positively impressed by Neuromancer. It's not perfect, but still a good game. I'd even say its core contains the DNA for a great remake. It should be way cool to see a modernized version of this game, especially when focusing on the gameplay bits that where fun, like the real world adventure and the Cyberspace exploration. Watch this space for "Dragon Wars", the next game I'll be Interplaying!

Since the kids spend the weekend with the grandparents, I managed to play almost the whole day, making great progress. I'm now past the part of plain database hacking and equipment upgrading, being able to connect straight into Cyberspace itself! That's when it became more fun to play again. Breaking through the protecting ICE software and then battling against computer AIs is both challenging and enthralling. I'm still using a walkthrough though. Way too often I'm left totally clueless with what to do next. I wonder how many people managed to finish it on their own back in the day?

Hi there! I wonder if there's a full version of the song available? Anyway, I love it just as much as the show http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8k-njbMgByU Greetings, Manuel

Uh well... I wasn't looking at the last three weeks, but the last three years. Of course a clever rebranding like the PS3 Slim shows some noticeable effect in its first weeks on the market. Look again at the graphic Bob posted, that picture won't change much, in case you're hoping for that. The Wii isn't just a bubble that's going to burst, it won't go away, I don't think so. It certainly did spark my interest, I have a much longer breath here though The thing is, I buy and play 15-20 "modern" games a year. That's about what I can afford, at 30 Euro a piece, with the occasional 50 Euro birthday or Chrstmas present. Now, since owning a Wii, I never managed to catch up buying even all the Wii games I wanted. Assuming I'd have bought an additional HD console, I'd just have ended up with another console I couldn't afford playing all the games I wanted to. The situation I see right now though, is that the stream of Wii games, at least the kind of I'm interested in, will slowly dry up next year. 2009 will end on a good note for Wii owners, 2010 will still start with a couple of highlights, but then I don't see much on the horizon, IMO from the 2nd quarter onwards it looks even worse than 2008. I will need some time to catch up completing my Wii collection and fill some gaps, so I currently target a PS3 purchase for christmas 2010. This'll also boost my early PS3 games hunting, since there should easily be 20-30 interesting games available for 15-25 Euro then.

It means that it will help the Wii to continue selling as many units as PS360 combined each month. The PS3 will eat away from the 360 sales though, so it's the 360 cut that means nothing. (People where only getting 360's as long as they couldn't afford the PS3.) Basically what everyone else in the thread says
-
I know I'm unfair here, but the point I'm making is that the HD consoles don't really suit my taste in RPGs either, so "RPGs" is not that big of an argument for me, when people actually "just" mean Fallout and Oblivion. They're okay for what they are, but not the kind of RPGs I'm looking for. PSP and DS will blow all stationary competition out of the water here without blinking... The thing is, I'm getting the PC "for free" somewhere down the road. Once the machine I'm typing this right now dies, I'll automatically get a new one and can instantly play 90% of the 360 library then.
-
What I said was that now the distribution is 50:30:20 and that I prognose in a year it will be 50:25:25 If that wasn't what you asked for, then I didn't understand your question.
