  1. After long time, I have used again SIO2SD to compare it with SDrive, the device that, as written in post #5, I prefer. First, I have upgraded SIO2SD to firmware v2.5. I have to say that, like SDrive, it is possible to select .atr/.xex from screen instead of tiny LCD screen. Moreover, the menu appears quicker (4 seconds instead of 6 - the menu file is smaller - 2KB instead of 131KB), long file names are all displayed (instead of only the one selected) and selection is faster thanks to "letter selection" instead of "up/down" selection. SDrive menu: SIO2SD menu: I changed my mind, I now prefer SIO2SD!
  2. I have Pigula's SIO2SD in a lotharek's case and c0nsumer's SDrive NUXX. I think it is a matter of taste. I prefer SDrive because I like selecting images on the screen and so I don't use and like SIO2SD 2-rows display. But with SIO2SD you can mount 8 disks images instead of SDrive's four. Aniway, I dream of having one of flashjazzcat's awesome mods. EDIT New features for SIO2SD are coming with new firmware: http://sio2sd-dev.gucio.pl/wiki/Features_en
  3. You can buy or build independent self-powered devices like SDrive: http://raster.infos.cz/atari/hw/sdrive/sdriveen.htm http://nuxx.net/wiki/SDrive_NUXX (AtariAge user c0nsumer, $150 with case) http://morethangames.a8maestro.com/proda8/adv-eh0130.htm or SIO2SD: http://sio2sd.gucio.pl/index_en.html http://marcinprusisz.pl/ (AtariAge user Pigula, $50) http://www.mmj.pl/~lotharek/atari/ (AtariAge user lotharek, €90 with case) http://mega-hz.no-ip.com/Angebote/SIO2SD/SIO2SD%20rev.2.html (80 euros with case) If you care about aesthetics, AtariAge user flashjazzcat can insert SDrive or SIO2SD into XM301/1064/PSU cases.
  4. Can't wait to receive ABBUC's disks! Nice website Gunnar.
  5. 8bitclassics, if I click your links I get: 1 Apache 2 Test Page 2 Forbidden. You don't have permission to access /index.php on this server. 3 Forbidden. You don't have permission to access /index.php on this server. 4 Welcome to your website! This is the default index page of your website.
  6. It's 312 for PAL/50, but 262 for PAL/60. To make a PAL/60 game in bB, use "set tv ntsc," but use the PAL color values. Yes, I am sorry for the mistake. I have done NTSC, PAL50 and PAL60 versions of L.E.M. but I forgot PAL60 "magic number"!
  7. Very very nice Duane! I like scrolling's and animation's smoothness very much! It looks very professional. If you want, you should continue working on this game.
  8. You discovered me! I am working on this game. Thanks Michael. Duane, you should add Michael's explanation (or at least this behaviour) in bB Commands page. BTW, you should also add that scanline "magic number" for PAL50 and PAL60 is 312. EDIT: as pointed out by SeaGTGruff, actually PAL60 "magic number" is 262 and not 312.
  9. Why, if I design a playfield with Visual bB, with playfield colors option enabled, and I select Preview in Emulator: standard kernel: no_blank_lines, I get this result? As you can see rows colors bleed in other rows. This problem also happens if I make a program.
  10. If the list isn't too long, I would thank everyone has contributed (ideas, testing, maybe motivational and moral support too). Singers, in theis CDs booklets, thank many people. Otherwise, only programmers and AA members in general. BTW, for this essential tip, have I won the right to be included in the list?
  11. Awesome! This is a big step forward for Atari VCS. A huge thank you to skilful Mike for his achievement.
  12. IF he actually made his website so you could actually find something then he may not have warehouses full of stuff. I can NEVER find how to get to the items that he has for sale. (I maybe a little harsh as I am a web developer.) Actually B&C and Best Electronics websites are awful. But as written by spookt, Best Electronics catalogue is worth the price, not only for people interested in buying stuff.
  13. Regarding gameplay, have you ever played GameBoy Tennis? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d7jyWR3HDBU&feature=related
  14. Hi Fred. According to RevEng (who helped me very much with title screen and other things), there's a bug in bB that causes jumps between 311 and 312 scanlines in PAL50 version of my L.E.M. game (NTSC and PAL60 version are OK). I attach a test version without title screen. LEM-bug-PAL50.bas.bin
  15. Very nice, RevEng! Can you attach .spr files? Can you design a matching standing front sprite? Pac-Man-Red, your thread is very interesting. Sometimes people needs good sprites to be motivated to start a project. But regarding motivations, Random Terrain is the master!
  16. Thank you. I like man's head like Intellivision running man or Aaron Curtis Fall Down game (IMHO one of the best VCS side walking animations): http://il.youtube.co...feature=related Unfortunately with bB we don't have single line resolution. My try: WalkingMan4.zip
  17. Regarding walking animations, here is an enteresting article (2-frames, 4-frames, 8-frames walking cycles): http://www.manningkrull.com/pixel_art/tutorials/walking.asp For my side walking animation I have no limits regarding frames.
  18. Very nice, with these size/color limitations. But I was thinking of a person walking from left to right (or vice versa), like your avatar!
  19. Excellent work! Do you have any ideas for a little (5-8 pixels height) 1-color 2-frames person walking animation?
  20. No pigtail needed on 800XL?
  21. The game is free and with Harmony cartridge everyone can play it on real hardware too. Boxed edition will be produced for collectors, so I think they would pay something more for something original like a patch (message to Walter sent). Anyway, I will sell the game at price cost.
  22. L.E.M. v08 (codename Lendorien!) released: - number of landings required to get to next difficulty level raised to 4 - new extra life awarded after 8 landings (I cannot give more than 2 extra lives because there's no place for more than 4 dots) - lives system now like the majority of arcades (read Lendorien's post for explanations). TooSlowGamer, thank you very much for your appreciation and your patch photoshopping (a custom patch seems to cost not very much - $4 - if I order 1000 pieces!). I am sorry for your and others ears (including mine). I have done my best to add a title screen music but demo's music is definitely better!
