  1. For demanding software, we can always use Corina cartridge (Bomb Jake).
  2. We have PAL60 but I agree on limited palette.
  3. I think, apart few cases, it is always a matter of technical issues. For example, in this same moment, someone prefer NTSC VCS's: http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/159453-updated-timing-info-on-bb-page/page__view__findpost__p__1970056 It's not a problem.
  4. I agree with MEtalGuy66. BTW, I had problems with an American XF551. I solved them burning the attached "PAL" rom image that solves SIO bus timing issues. XF551pal.zip
  5. Elite seems to exists on all platforms, apart A8 and ZX81!
  6. Your esteem is very appreciated. Compared to yours, my skills are very limited but like you I enjoy programming 8-bit machines and being an active part of the community.
  7. Ebay Bomb Jake #5 arrived in Switzerland two days ago!
  8. http://gury.atari8.info/html_category/s_dos.htm http://www.atarionline.pl/v01/index.phtml?ct=utils&sub=7.+DOS-y
  9. In the last number of RetroGamer (#74) you can read an interesting 8 pages interview with David Baben. Q: Was there an Atari 800 version commissioned? A: No, though we did want to do one. But I think by 1984 it was low on the list, sadly. We had our work cut out doing versions of Elite, both Ian and I, and a number of very diligent contractors working with our ugly code on 17 different platforms. Mark, if you have problems with your port, you can make a phone call to David or Ian!
  10. Reading Kernal post, I have a question. Is it better to install an headphone jack or two rca connectors?
  11. Here I've found a new copy of Summer Games but I don't think you would pay $75 (unless you're a collector).
  12. I agree with yuppicide. But they say "you shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth".
  13. Yes, I think quality is good with all 4 systems connected but I haven't done the tests you made!
  14. That looks great. Really suits the XE styling. What's the model number? Samsung LCD TV Syncmaster 711MP.
  15. To this LCD TV I connect Atari 130XE (s-video), Atari Falcon (VGA), Amiga 1200 (RGB) and C64 (composite video). Unfortunately it is three years old but perhaps Samsung nowadays makes something similar.
  16. Off topic but I only want to inform my many friends here that, after C64 and A8, I have programmed L.E.M (Lunar Excursion Module), for VCS/2600: http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/159714-lem-lunar-excursion-module/ As Karolj wrote, this is a sort of "Hello Word" for me! I have to say that thanks to Visual batariBasic (look at screenshots of that IDE), it is very easy to program VCS.
  17. Thank you. On real hardware it is easier.
  18. Previously I programmed simple Lunar Lander's genre games for C64 and Atari 8-bit. I have done a version for Atari VCS console too. This game is a sort of "Hello Word" for me... Other videos: ArcadeUSA ZeroPage Homebrew Retro Bliss Gaming 1 2 I want to thank Fred Quimby for awesome batariBasic and Harmony cart, Jeff Wierer for Visual batariBasic (it's a pleasure to program with his IDE), Duane Alan Hahn for batariBasic manual, music and high score code, Mike Saarna for Titlescreen kernel, title screen's L.E.M. and score custom fonts all-in-one file, Steve Engelhardt for his code snippets and Stephen Anthony, Bradford Mott, Eckard Stolberg, Brian Watson (Stella multi-platform Atari 2600 VCS emulator). Game's size is 4KB but I switched to 8KB when I added title screen's music and to 16KB when I added a bitmap title screen. In November 2020 it became the first batariBasic game that saves scores online with PlusCart(+). Virtual patches are awarded if you score 100,000 or more points. In December 2020 it was added to Argon, an Android console emulator. Special thanks to Brian Ostrowski for box, label, manual and patch design, Scott Lawrenz for English manual, Mario Caillahuz Aramburú, Gunnar Kanold, Jean-Christophe Ville for manual's translations (French, German and Spanish) and to Walter Lauer for patches production. The game is reviewed in Brian Matherne's The Atari 2600 Homebrew Companion: Volume 1 (standard/ebook edition - deluxe edition). A collectors edition of the game is available on AtariAge store, with a 28 pages five languages manual. Package renderings: Actual photos: I attach zip files with NTSC, PAL50 (slower so easier) and PAL60 versions together with code (scroll for latest version). 19. More Jean Michel Jarre please! BTW he used Atari ST/TTs.
  20. Beautiful title, awesome music, wonderful engine. What is the status of Pr0be's project? This game deserves to be done!
  21. With Altirra I don't see any garbage at the botton, top line only (without garbage).
