  1. I like very much Atarimania Top 100 pages, but there are the problems mentioned by @MrFish

I do think too only registered users should be allowed to vote. Poor "revenge" votes would be still possible; perhaps reducing voting range (1-10) could help.

Top 100 Downloads page is more faithful but obviously top 100 titles will continue to be the most downloaded because people will continually download them because they are in that page.

I agree with @Guy1 that it would be interesting to see titles pas #100.

  2. I am very sorry for your less, may he rest in peace, condoleances.

What does it mean "Sadly when he was put in the home all that stopped as he wasn't allowed his lap top because he would throw stupp about including it".

I am not sure I undertood correcty. He wasn't allowed to bring his laptop?

  3. Check out comparison table in Topic for newbies.

Here's the short answer, for average users, without special needs or hardware add-ons:

    • If you need to load ATR only games (download Homesoft collection with "Download all" button to find out which of the best games are ATR only) or applications, buy a SIO device (SIO2PC-USB if you have a nearby PC or an external SIO device if you want a stand-alone solution: SDrive-Max at the moment seems the best solution).
    • If games on ATR format only aren't important for you, if you like fast or instant load, if you like to play some cartridge format games that otherwise would need a memory expansion, buy a multicart (AVGCart at the moment seems the best solution: cheaper, has a limited ATR compatibility and disk swap button - developer is working on adding full ATR compatibility).

Heh, funny the file statistics does not show there is an update, however I tried the previous version from homesoft (still saved in download dir) so I can see there is different CRC of the zip file (even the xex modification date is set to 1.1.1980).

This version contains Wilheim's NTSC fix and level 02 is NOT working :)

Please try the latest update. 🙏

So, time to check other Sellinger's Brothers production... Try Jurrasic Park for example (dont miss with Satantronic/Sikor Soft "Jurrasic Park II") ;)

Nice game too. It seem to work with both OSes. Do you know its release date? Atarimania and Fandal don't have this information.

    @miker ?

I never managed to see part 2 as getting hold of compute magazine in the eighties was a bit hit or miss where I lived, but now I can read it :)

To me it looks like the mini DOS above is actually "MacroDOS" by Jerry Allen, released 1984 (?) in Compute magazine.

Attached the program with the docs I have and also attached the mini DOS programs I found on several german magazines.  Note: *.BAS are Atari Basic files, *.AUT means that these ML-files must be renamed to Autorun.SYS to work...

Here's an updated version of Major Blink as requested. I'm using the same code as that released for the 5200 ... the changes are mainly to the front end which is more like that of Berks Four. There are a few cosmetic changes to the game itself along with some adjustments to the way the game ramps up difficulty with each completed screen. Extra lives are now based on your starting skill level - this stops you banking lives by starting at the lower skill levels. I also had to reintroduce some PAL/NTSC adjustments.

I've given this a day's testing on Altirra and it seems fine ... fingers crossed.

Well, I tried your version, but it cannot be beaten.

I remember back in the days, there were multiple versions of lasermania... and there is also my own version [f MatoSimi] that should be correctly playable:

I do not remember what was the catch, but there must be a reason for that many versions of the game.

There's also Homesoft XEX version, with starting glitches (characters) removed as usual.
