  1. What is a good price to pay for a 7800 in original box? What should i expect to pay?
  2. less colorful language would be an improvement on him.
  3. Thanks guys, that sounds good. I'll check into that.
  4. Does anyone know if ther is a such thing as an arcade buyers guide or price list like a blue book? I'd hate to pay $800.00 for a $250.00 game.
  5. Well i'm not sure as far as the type but its the one that usually comes with it. The rca ends are red, yellow, and i think white. Colored to match the plugs on the back of the 1702.
  6. Hey no prob. Let me know how it goes. Great place with 2600, 5200, 7800, colecovision, Intellivision, Turbografx 16, nes, Genesis, snes, U name it.
  7. I was surprised to see him pull a beer out from under that door. I liked it when he dropped the tv on his foot.
  8. You do have a point tho. I liked the one about the power glove myself.
  9. LOL i can't really blame u there. Although i like the subject of games and the fact that he may be funny.....it doesnt take any intelligence to come up with something like that. Trust me you aren't missing anything. By the way, very cool avatar. I'm a huge fan of Lunar.
  10. I like the guys work for entertainment purposes especially when it has to do with games but i dont like him trashing and downing the 5200 or any other atari for that matter.
  11. Try my personal favorite and source i use to use when i lived in Arkansas. The Game Room in Hot Springs. His name is Mike and their address is: 3812 Central Ave. Suite B Boardwalk Village Hot Springs, Ar 71913 Phone: 501 520 5885 Tell em Charles sent u. I've known them since they opened....about 1990 or so. They have tons and tons of Atari stuff, Nintendo, Sega, and other stuff u dont see everyday. If your looking for it, he probably has it. Give em a try!
  12. Retrogamer is still going?? I just started picking these up each month awhile back and the one and only place that even carried them, a super wal-mart, doesn't even carry them anymore.
  13. Nice find!! I hope someone in my area throws one out and i'm around to know about it. lol.
  14. no prob. i used one when i was in high school and i owned one awhile back. For me, its an easy hookup. I wish that was the problem, but i've tried everything outside of opening the thing up. Don't know what to do.
  15. i here ya there. thats exactly what i'm going to do is restore it. Thats another issue i'll have to deal with as mine has jamma too. They turned it into U.S. Classic by Taito. Anyway, i'm lucky the black paint flakes right off. I have the front completely clear and a good part of the right side. Still a long way to go tho.
  16. good point. problem is, i have two 1702 monitors that i know work and still nothing. any ideas??
  17. thanks to all those who responded, i now have a pretty good idea what i need to do. Since i'm not sure exactly which chip i need, and since their cheap, i'll go with both the CO14805 GTIA chip and the CO12296 Antic chip. This way, i'll know its gonna work.
  18. I was given a Commodore 64 with the 1541 floppy drive and a 1702 monitor. Only thing is, when i turn it on, the drive responds but i get no picture whatsoever. Anyone have any idea what is wrong?? was told maybe a video processor.
  19. I have a 1982 ZooKeeper cabinet by Taito. Still has original monitor which i'll need to recap. Had been converted to something else and painted but i'm getting the paint off without damaging the artwork. Inside seems to be complete as far as i can tell except the boards arent the right ones. Has a golf game board in it right now. Does anyone know where i can get the zookeeper boards and what do i exactly need to get this thing running? I also would like to know where i could get the bezel art, marquee, and control panel overlay. I'm also interested in where i could get empty or non-working cabinets. Are there any known places where i could find cabinets for free? or at least cheap?
  20. yes i tried that plus moving the cartridge around, trying different ones. I was told from the previous owner it might just need a cleaning but that went no where. All i can come up with is the GTIA and the Antic chips. I just want to make sure i'm getting the right ones when i order them. Been an Atari collector for many many years and worked with alot of systems but i never experienced this problem before. Let me know if anyone comes up with anything. Charles
  21. Checked Best Electronics. Now if i go for the Antic replacement, do i need the CO21697 (XL / XE ANTIC) or the CO12296 (ANTIC)? The XL/XE Antic is $10.00 and the other is $5.00. the there is the CO14805 (GTIA) and that one is $5.00. I'm thinking about just replacing both the GTIA and the Antic just to make sure i get it right the first time.
  22. i'll definitely check into that one. Has to be cheaper than a complete replacement. If anyone else has any ideas as well, just let me know as i'm in the middle of moving and alot of my stuff is packed and i'm not sure when i'll get to actually repairing but i certainly want to know what i'm getting myself into....lol. thanks for the replies and i'll keep posting if i get any new info.
  23. so its definitely the GTIA?? Whats the Antic do? I remember ordering a motherboard from Best Electronics way back in 1989 for a system i had years ago. I just dont want to do that again because of cost. Any idea what the GTIA costs?
  24. I recently picked up an Atari 5200 complete mint in original box but when i turn the system on, whatever game i put in comes up distorted and unplayable. The sound is ok but images and icons are moved around and and u cant make out what it's supposed to be. I want to repair this but not sure what i'm looking for. Maybe a video or graphics chip? Maybe someone can help me.
