  1. Ewwww channel F At least you like the design of the 5200.
  2. I've played Darius Gaiden on the saturn and like many other saturn games, it seemed kinda crappy to me. I liked the other Darius games that were on other systems though. I like the saturn but there are'nt very many games i like, mainly Shining Force III, Dragon Force, Christmas Nights, Burning Rangers, and Magic Knight Rayearth. Once you start importing there are tons of shooters to explore with Beat 'em ups and 2D Fighters. Yeah there were good imports for it. Theres one shooter but i can't remember the name of it. Used to sell for around 200 on ebay. I also liked dracula x and evangelion. The $200 shooter might be Radiant Silvergun. But it's not worth the price tag. Dracula for the Saturn (Castlevania: SOTN) was OK at best. Evangelion, yuck. Yes it was radiant silvergun. As for dracula x, it beat the playstation SOTN because you could play as Maria with the triple jump which is cool And i liked evangelion for the animation because of the series, as for the gameplay, there isn't any.....morelike a story book

  4. Exactly, It should have been out much earlier than it was but it should always be remembered with the other classics. Agree, though using that logic, so should the NES (released in 1983 as the Famicom) and Sega Master System (released as the Sega Mark III). Yeah. i din't even think of those, can't forget them either.
  5. Did you ever play BBSB or Miner 49'er with the 5200 controllers? I can actually list quite a number of games that are totally unplayable because of those sticks. ==> I disagree. I have always found Miner 2049'er totally and surprisingly playable with my 5200 sticks. I think there is significant difference in feel in 5200 sticks -- I always use the semi-self-centering ones, with the extra rubber boot. I see people complain about Frogger and Q*bert but I find the control very easy to adjust to. You simply press the direction and click the button to do the actual jump. In a way it is even more accurate than using a stick with immediate response. Now, there is one one game I have a hard time with is and that is trying to do platform jumping in Kangaroo. Pressing up while running to the left or right presents problems with the non-centering stick, with me. I agree, if they are rebuilt and in good condition, They are completely usable in most cases. Kangaroo is challenging with the sticks but i played that game so many times, i got used to it and was able to control it quite well.
  6. Damn! A store that still carries 2600 games, unless its a used game store that sells only used games, most of them around me stopped selling 2600 games almost 10 years ago. Surprised that the game crazy here actually had a handful of nes games.

  8. Thats the only problem with the 5200, if you have an 800 or pplayed an 800 or related, then you've experienced some of the games already. So for some, There are alternatives to the 52, but even tho i had an 800 a long time ago, i still like the 52 because i've always had one and i like the way it looks when set up.
  9. The prolines aren't really that bad once i get used to using them alot again but i must've went through a good 10 of them because they would sooner or later give out like the joystick would go in one direction but not the other, then the fire buttons would quit.

  11. just curious as to which is liked the most and which is like the least. My order is: 5200: Mainly because it's big, i like the design, and the games were close to arcade quality. 2600: i put this one before the 7800 because it was the original that set the standard and is a true classic. 7800: I love this system as well but with few games, and the proline controllers being the way they are, just comes in 3rd with me.
  12. I love Pengo for the 5200. I've played that one quite a bit.
  13. Thanks to all for the ideas. I'll finish this cabinet up the best that i can. I'll probably end up buying an original complete one too as well as ther arcades.
  14. Thats probably the best idea, except i've never even seen a dead one much less a working one. Seem to be to damn hard to find.
  15. Check your previous thread about 3/4 of the way down the page. Bill and I both gave you some info on how to do it. Al I know but your not getting what i'm asking. Does anyone know how to make a Qix board run zookeeper? In other words, is there someone here that knows how how to do it and can they do it. I'm looking for someone that i can send a Qix board to in the mail and have them do it. Then i could pay them for the work. The previous post you are talking about was where i was looking for information on how to do it but it didn't help as i don't have the tools or knowhow to do it.
  16. There are now 553 known to exist original Atari 2600 games, including 93 prototypes. ABC To The VCS has summaries of over 700 games. Actually there are over 700 titles listed in the index. This includes games with more than one name (i.e. Atari/Sears), homebrews, and a few PAL games. Remove the Sears titles and the homebrews and you will get my number. I'm talking about the 1977 - 1992 period here. How many is that? Do you have that many?
  17. I'll jusy get the ones i can get and the ones i really want.
  18. Are you sure they're really self-centering, or does it just feel that way because of a new rubber boot? There's a difference between self-centering and "tight." I need to get some new boots myself. Would make a big difference not to mention look better too.
  19. Self centering?? Damn, how'd they do that?
  20. Does anyone on here know how to make a Qix board run Zookeeper?
  21. Do those run in MAME? They look awesome. I guess they could. Not sure tho. Not a bad version. I just wish Pac-man Championship Edition wasn't just on Xbox 360. Kinda hard to say "Pac-man is back" when it's limited to Xbox 360 only. I'd rather see it come to the arcades.
  22. Well, thats right too though......The DS didn't have the game boy name so it really kinda ended with that.
  23. So they're dropping the gameboy line. I never thought that would happen.
