  1. Yeah but i've been on ebay too many times just to see people bidding like they found the holy grail or something just because the title said "sealed in box never opened". And the price is always higher. As for the box, its new because the seal is still on it plus it came from an actual atari authorized dealer that ordered a bunch of these back when they were new out and they stopped selling so e hung on to them till now because of the popularity increase. As for opening it, on don't need to because i already have one out. No need to. And the games i figured suck so theres no need to open these either, i guess since they're not worth playing. I have plenty of other games i can play. Better just to let this stuff sit, and hell, in ten or twenty years from now, who knows
  2. The one problem with a rebuilt 5200 controller is that it's still a 5200 controller. I love my 5200. It was the last Atari system I found, and found it "in the wild." But without a Wico, I wouldn't be able to use it at all. The wico is a hugh blocky beast, but at least the fire buttons work. In fact I actually prefer the stock stick for games not requiring a lot of fire button action like pac-man. Currently, I'm waiting on some parts so I can finish my DIY masterplay. I can easily hold the Wico stick in my hand while I play. I have no problems with it at all. I did invest in a rebuilt controller. But it barely works. In fact, right now, just for the function buttons like start and reset and such, I'm using a controller I found in a trash can! It's buttons, even on the keypad, work better than my "rebuilt" one. Go figure. Hmm. Very strange. Apparently the rebuild wasn't done right. If done correctly, they will work just fine. Yeah, something must've not been done right. Last time I tried to use just the start button it wouldn't work. When it did work, I'd have to really press it, or press it at a bit of an angle to get it to work. Also had problems with the # and * buttons not working, which is a problem when you want to change start levels or difficulty levels. And that's about all I need the standard controller for, so if they don't work, it's useless. But two I found in the trash work just fine for what I need. Glad you found them. Its good to see things like this saved. The two port 5200 I found in the trash with them now has a brand new motherboard inside! I think that is so keewwwllll! Congratulations!! Good to hear. I do the same, whenever i find something thrown out like that, i pick it up immediately.
  3. Just recieved my brand new in box sealed Jaguar cybermorph system and xtras which i ordered last month. I'll leave this sealed since i already have my complete in box 64 bit power kit with CD add-on. I also got 2 other games, Kasumi Ninja and Checkered Flag, both sealed. Should i leave these sealed and just buy them loose to play or what? I'll post pictures of the lot later in a few hours.
  4. Do you have a picture of it. Good find.
  5. Doubling the amount of 2600 game out there must be fun. Even more fun to collect.

  8. On second thought, i think i'll pass on Invasion of the Space Invaders. I just went on amazon.com and found them running between $150 to 800. Thats rediculous! and hardly worth it. I'll take my chances, maybe finding it one day at a yard sale or thrift store, otherwise i won't get it. $800 ?? Screw that man I'll scan it eventually and share it out. It has lots of nice graphics and pictures but it's also good read with some stories and stuff. The guy's an actual writer after all. That being said, I'm still waiting on Technosis to respond if he can share out the scans if he's already got them Well heck. If you get the compete scans, let me know. At least i'll be able to read through it. The raw scans are up at: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=7V0ZEZKK Thanks Margaret (a local bookworm )for providing the original scans and posting these on your acct, I owe ya one if you ever read this...... Thank you Thank you.
  9. My mom use to call them "Atari tapes".......She didn't really know what all those square black things were laying around.
  10. Nice game. Just tried it on stella. The tune sounds familiar but i can't place it.
  11. I have 6 rebuilt 5200 controllers and i'm happy with them. All you do is barely tap the fire button and they fire. Very easy to use once rebuilt. If not rebuilt, forget it. Their quite unusable. You should be happy with them once you get yours.
  12. Yes they will probably be available, drop me an e-mail if there are any problems. Prototype reproductions use the actual prototype rom images, conversions are games created from their 8-bit computer counterparts. Steve THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for saying ROM images instead of just roms. Yes, I know it's stupid, but abuse of "rom" drives me nuts. geez, sorry. how is it abuse? at least he knew what i meant. It's an irrational peeve of mine. ROMs = actual physical chips. ROM images = files containing the same data as the ROMs they're dumped from. Somewhere along the line, the emulation community managed to abbreviate ROM image to ROM. And then the next generation began applying ROM to any and all pirated software, often while failing to capitalize it. And when I started seeing people asking for "playstation roms" and "the rom version of Quake 3" I sorta lost all rationality about the issue.
  13. Some joke Anyway, thanks for explaining. i wasn't trying to get an exact count. besides, i didn't think there were much over 1000 if that. when you ask a serious question here, you expect a serious answer. i'm only wondering what the approximate number is. i don't really know because i don't have the kind of money some people have to go out and buy every tape they see as soon as they see it. Sorry to bother. I'll just stick to the unknown and just collect them till i can't find any more. Again, thanks for clearing this up.

  15. I don't know if there is but if there isn't one and you start one, i'll post mine on there.
  16. Thank you. At least i have an idea of what was out there for the system.
  17. I went to vixy.net. All it does is convert flv files to avi. I already have a program that does that for me. What i need is a site that has other videos that youtube doesn't have.

  19. Cool. I'll have to check that one out. I've never seen that one before.
  20. Does anyone remember a book called Video Invaders by Steve Bloom? I read it in school so many times i was hooked and eventually kept it and told the librarian i lost it just so i could keep it. Anyway, i just recently picked one up again about 2 years ago and was wondering if anyone else knows about it or owns one.
  21. Does anyone have any or know where i could find a nice collection of vintage commercials especially for the 5200 other than youtube. I've seen probably all that are on there and i would like to download some or get them on tape.
  22. That really has to suck because it was reprinted. Why the hell Bandai release the game in the US with such small numbers? Not to mention it sucked hard. I paid $80 for a complete Metal Slug JP on the Neo-Geo CD. Yeah i couldn't belive they were re-releasing it. i'm just glad i sold it before that happened.
  23. I was just wondering how many actual original 2600 games were released including all rare ones. Do not include prototypes, repros., or homebrews.
