Atari2600.com has a number of those games for sale for the 5200.

thanks for that one. i've been to the site before but didn't remember seeing any protos. I'll definitly check it out.

  2. Ha, I too, have the Pac-man board game, and bed sheets.

I also remeber those 3/4 sleeved shirts. I had some nintendo ones when I was young.

Sweet! i've only had mine almost a year now. Got 2 sets of pac-man sheets, E.T. Sheets, and star wars sheets, all have their pillow cases. Then i have the Pac-man board game as well as a frogger board game and a pac-man lunch box.

  3. Does anyone have xtra boots around that they don't need. I'm in need of 5 of them do to the fact that 2 of my controllers boots are completely missing and 3 of them are torn or cracked. Best electronics only wants 1$ each but they have an order minimum. and they're really all i need right now.

  4. It's weird that there are still Game Crazy stores with high-priced older games. I can't help but wonder if these are reports from people who haven't actually been INSIDE a Game Crazy in a couple years, or if they're looking at old tags and ignoring the sale signs that override them.

According to the manager i talked to, they're clearing out all the classic stuff chain-wide, and the 2 for $5 sale that's on now is likely to get even cheaper to clear out the last sports games and other remnants. Doesn't make sense that there'd still be stores charging $15 for a loose Sonic & Knuckles.

    I agree

    Cram

    Failsafe

    Lord of the Rings

The first and last ones don't exist and Failsafe was just a working title for Countermeasure.

As for the others they are available in a Bineray state but are not available in cartridge form from any official place. There are people who do occasional make them for others and sometimes sell them on eBay. If you put out a general request for someone to make them for you, somebody might contact you with an offer.

    Allan

A "Cram" cartridge is just a normal 5200 cartridge with one of the pins shorted so the 5200 powers up when it is "Crammed" (inserted) in.

    Tempest

Oh, ok i was wondering what that was. Hadn't heard of that one.

  6. Does anyone have a larger scan of this ad or even the original copy or of any other 5200 ads. this one is too small and becomes distorted when i zoom on it.

  7. Yeah my game crazy isn't good at all for finding anything unless you want to pay $5 for mario on NES or something. lol

All the Game Crazy's near me have gone out of business. There were two I used to visit all the time that closed down. I would have traveled to some of the more distant ones when the sale first started, but after two months I'm sure there's nothing there to make it worth taking the trip.

    Bill

the game crazy's here are way too high. I'm not paying 10 or 15 for a sonic and knuckles loose with a missing door

I thought failsafe might be just that. how do i request games and where would i start? would they be able to make a label and have the cartridge case too?

  9. I'm pretty sure that all of those are available in rom form for play on your favorite emulator :)

Yeah i never thought of that. :ponder: Even tho i don't really care for emulators as i prefer original hardware, but when it comes to things you just can't get, then i could live with it :)

  10. Here it is. Finally found it. You can see it in the back behind the clear trackball controller. I wouldn't mind having that.

Pretty sure that's a prototype paddle, which wouldn't work for tempest. I have seen a couple of 5200 sticks modded with the 2600 paddle knob on ebay before.

The paddle won't work because it doesn't spin continuously.

Ah, thanks for the info. I wasn't sure if that would work or not.

  12. I put up my system on ebay with no takers(main problem is that the joysticks don't work and there is a possibility the pots are broken). But I am going to the CGE when they have their convention in 2 and half weeks. I was wondering if anyone else going would take this off my hands for $10.

do you have a pic of what your selling?

  13. The joystick support in Tempest only uses the horizontal pot for position and does not even read the vertical one. So you can only move left and right to spin around the tubes. The faster you move the stick or roll the trak-ball, the faster you will spin around the tubes!

There will also be high-score entry, and 3 difficulty levels.

That sounds great. I definitly want this when it comes out. I remember seeing a picture somewhere on the internet myself, where someone had a 5200 controller with no stick, just a spinner. If i can find it again, i'll post it here.

  14. Oh geez...

My heavy sixer got stolen... so did my complete in box for promotional use only atari...

How the heck did you get your Ataris snagged?

My old roommates had too many bad friends.

What made me mad the most is that the pool stick Atari Pitbull sold me disappeared too, along with my other two sticks :(

Along with more stuff, like a boxed complete super famicom that was given to me by a japanese translator that I worked with when I was in japan.

Damn, thats terrible! sorry to hear that.

Eh its ok, it REALLY put a hurt on my collecting though, and a lot more stuff got stolen than that :(

I don't bother with it anymore, I just keep what I have now and be happy with it. At one point I was REALLY considering selling it all, because with the stuff disappearing, I figured, well before it all disappears, might as well get something for it.

But, then I moved back home and its all safe now. Now with me moving out soon, out of state with that, I'm kinda skeptical again, but we'll see. Once I settle in with the move and all, I'll probably hire North American Vanlines and move the stuff for me. I REALLY want my mame cab down there...

Well, thats good. Don't ever give up. Just keep doing what your doing and move on. Anyway, good luck with the move and i hope everything works out for you.

  16. I'm thinking of cleaning out the closet. My best collection is my 5200.

I have both types of consoles, a trackball, probably 6 controllers (most of which have been rebuilt), two console packages (a little rough) and what I believe is every production cartridge published. All were working a couple years ago and still should be as they've been stored in a dry environment.

I don't really know what it's worth and will see what the community tells me it's worth before I place a value on it. If it's worth 1/2 what I have into it it, I won't sell it at this time.

I'll try to post pictures tomorrow morning if there is interest.

    PM sent!

  17. Does anyone know where I can find the Atari 5200 portable case, It held your console, controllers, cords and games

Forget it. It's rare as hell and you'll pay big bucks for it if you are lucky enough to find one for sale. You'll have better luck finding Bounty Bob Strikes Back, the rarest 5200 game.

    Allan

Tell me about it. Wish i could find one :(

  18. I am pleased to announce that Michael Kosaka has joined the Tempest project!! He was the original artist for the game back in 1984, and he has submitted new art for the game. Everything is working well and we hope to have a working demo soon.

Keep the faith! It will happen!!

Somebody please let me know when this comes out. I want one! :)

  20. Let me introduce you to a little something we like to call...

    ebay!!!!!

Sheesh, back in the day there were cartoons, puffy stickers, cereal, board games, joke books...a true multimedia blitz! If you can't find Pac-Man merch from the day...you just ain't lookin'!

Well i've used ebay for years and can usually find most anything. Its where i got my pac-man board game and bed sheets. But everytime i've ever looked for the cereal boxes. they only had those damn 90's re-releases.
