Take a look at my ebay purchase history (as I'm sure many of you have) and do the math for yourself....it seems many of you have kept pretty good tabs on all of my past purchases…so it shouldn’t be too hard to realize exactly how much I have invested in this collection…. Did it ever occur to any of you that there are people in the world that do not consider money an issue? Not that I'm saying I have a money tree growing in my back-yard......but do not make "assumptions" unless you can back up your claims......I can certainly back up mine….. BTW - I've been outbid by several reputable bidders MANY TIMES - such as Trade-n-games who outbid me to the tune of close to $300 each for several XONOX boxed games..... Did I lose money on this collection? Absolutely.... Did I make it up on other ebay sales/flips? Absolutely! Would I do it all over again??? ABSOLUTELY!!! That's the fun of it for me! Now it's time to move on.....

Don't assume that I was spending beyond my means - not the case. My priorities have just changed. My comment re:addiction was actually meant as a joke - I quite enjoyed collecting and at no point was it ever a negative experience. Not that I need to justify my actions but my reasons are more time related - certainly not monetary. If it were monetary, I would have taken the time to sell everything seperately with inflated shipping charges etc... I also have to say that I find it difficult that you would have half the games for less than $1000, unless you have all the commons and none of the rarities - or you are very very good bargin hunter........PLUS.....I was not the only person driving up prices - I can recall losing more than 100 auctions for games because I was outbid (by more than 1 bidder)....so there are certainly many other people out there besides myself who are driving up prices.....and judging by the amount of offers I received for this collection that were very close to my minimum price...there are quite a few people out there who value it similar to myself. I also had many messages from people looking for particular games that were willing to pay several hundred dollars for one game in some cases........

The collection was mine......... I find it quite funny to see so many comments from people trying to ascertain the value of a collection like this - truth is, no one can put a price on it. It is what ever the market dictates. And judging by the amount of money people have been paying lately for boxed games that I would consider commons, this collection is most certainly worth the selling price (with substantial savings on individual shipping costs). I've seen games sell for $30, and a few weeks later, the same game sells for close to $300. I've certainly been there (have paid substantially more for a game than I should of). Lately , it seems almost every CIB colecivison game selling (common or not) is selling for upwards of $100. As to my reasons for selling.....that's somewhat private and not necessarily the business of strangers....let's just say my cirmcumstances have changed recently......I've been back and forth quite a bit on whether to continue collecting...or to get out of it all togetther (hence the impulse purchase of Campaign 84 last week) but I finally bit the bullet on the game collecting addiction. I still have quite a bit more to sell in the coming weeks. With the gem of my collection now gone, it won't be difficult to clear out everything else. Have fun collecting everyone. I sure did......

Well......true to their form, some loser on here reported my listing to ebay and it has been removed. They informed me that listing prototypes are against policy (even though I didn't state that they were prototypes)........why do people make it so difficult for collectors??? It seems someone has a lot of time on their hands....... -

I'm the seller - and there are quite a few people on here who can vouch for my credibility. Regarding Trade-N-Games questions/comments - my priority is boxed games (in fact, I have purchased a few from you on your website). I sell games as I upgrade them to CIB - in this case I had quite a few that came with larger lots that I purchased where I only needed a few of the games - now I'm clearing out all of my surplus. I am not a reseller - just trying to complete my collection of Colecovision CIB. Regarding this particular auction - I explained the history behind these so called protos in another thread a few weeks ago. If you read the ebay listing, I don't even claim them to be authentic protos - that is for someone else to decide. I orginally purchased these from atari2600.com as bait to try to get some CIB colecovision games from a seller who stated he would only trade them for Protos - by the time I found these, he had already traded the games I was interested in so I was stuck with them. - to Buyatari's comment about being well-known. I do not claim that I am well-known. I said that the collector Jerry G is well-known. -
Wow! It really boggles my mind how judgemental some of you people can be. Every single time a rare item comes up on ebay, everyone assumes it’s a scam and starts passing judgment on the sellers. Honestly, if I were going to scam, it would be much easier for me to copy/counterfeit rare boxes, shrink wrap them with dummy cartridges and sell them. Give me a break people! Who really has time for this bull****??? Come to think of it, isn’t it the same “panel of experts” that deemed zeitshabba Atlantis II cartridge a fake, forcing the poor guy to destroy the label to prove you all wrong? Hmmmmm…… I wonder who I should be more likely to believe. One of the biggest Atari 2600 collectors of all time (Jerry G) …….or a panel of experts who “think” they know what they are talking about…….let me get back to you on that. It also ticks me off how people are always complaining about resellers on ebay. I assume for those people, you buy every single thing you own (whether it be clothes etc.) from a wholesaler? Guess what folks – every single retailer you shop at is a reseller – Wal-Mart is a reseller for god’s sake – so SHUT UP already…. Say what you will about the prototypes – whether you think they are real or not, it doesn’t really matter. Everyone is entitled to their opinion – but PLEASE do not attack my character, honesty or my motives. I am a simple collector trying to do the exact same thing as the rest of you……. P.S. to CPUWIZ re the comment on me not being the sharpest pencil in the lot – sorry I am not an ebay guru and don’t know every little trick in the shed to save money (not that I really care about saving money). Honestly, if I cared that much about saving 30 cents, I probably wouldn’t be wasting thousands of dollars on a game cartridge collection….. We’re all on here for the same reasons – play nice.

The prototypes (and listings) are mine. I purchased them from atari2600.com a while back - originally as bait to try to get some rare Colecovision Cartridges (for my Colecovision collection) - someone I was trading with said they would only trade for atari 2600 prototypes - I lucked out by looking on the atari2600 website at the right time - (but the Colecovision guy sold the cartridges I was interested in before I received the protos). You can verify my purchase with JC at atari2600.com if you like..... Ebay just removed my listings though - apparently it is a violation of their policy to list prototypes of software - go figure! So........looks like I am stuck with them...... If anyone is interested in them...let me know...... I've traded successfully with several people on here and can provide references if neccessary.....I also have 126 feedback on ebay..... Regards

I have a rather stupid question (forgive me but I'm new to this) Inside a cartirdge, what is the difference between a rom and an eprom? I know what an eprom looks like and the fact that you can program it etc. - but how is a rom different? I'm just curious as ealier on in this thread there was some reference as to whether this Atlantis ll cartridge had an eprom or rom. Can roms be wiped and programmed as easily as eproms? Thanks
