  1. Awesome! I never noticed that. Seems like a typical goofy thing for this company to do. They're the ones who released Skeet Shoot for Xmas 81 with an obvious screen-rolling bug.
  2. Considering all the other incorrect pieces of information, I wouldn't rely on anything that these morons write.
  3. If you say "PS3" really fast it sounds like "Piss 3."
  4. The ignorance displayed by that list is amazing. Video game journalism is really the lowest level of writing. It's like these assholes make it a point of pride to do no fact-checking whatsoever.
  5. Interesting question. I'm pretty sure my last 2600 game was Tax Avoiders.
  6. Last year one of our Blockbusters was selling off their extra copies of San Andreas for 10 bucks. The other stores were offering up to $25 trade-in value for it. A few of us took immediate advantage.
  7. Not a chance. 2600 Pac-Man was the best selling game of all time until Mario 3. It didn't become the pack-in until the end of 82 or start of 83, so there probably weren't more than a couple million given away.
  8. um, you just did say the DS was "down-to-earth retro-gaming" I think Nintendo does represent retro-gaming: fun is more important than graphics. The PSP is prettier than a DS. No doubt the PS3 will be prettier than the Wii. But which one will people actually want to play with? The PSP-DS battle seems to be a promising preview of what will happen between the PS3 and the Wii in 2007. I think there's another system involved with the battle, but the name escapes me. I guess that means the third system isn't making much of an impression one way or the other at this time.
  9. But it was also nearly impossible to snap a perfect shot off the television (us Activision patch collectors learned that early). An advertising photo like this was almost certainly a composite, the 5200 screen and Atari label being laid on top of the original photo.
  10. I don't give a shot either, you cack-eyed deckhole!
  11. It looks like something that a cheap retail chain would have put together for their newspaper ads. I'm going to blame Woolco.
  12. Fast forward a year and we'll probably see this exact same thread, with "PS3" and "Wii" in the place of "PSP" and "DS."
  13. The only person who knows whether or not you want to keep your PSP is you. But you sure wouldn't be the first to make the switch to DS. Not by a long shot. Right now on a Nebraska music message board I frequent there are two people trying to unload their PSPs. They'be been asking $200 for system with 2 or 3 games. No takers yet.
  14. What are the thoughts on creating something for Atari's (and Kee's) arcade games? The information is easy to find and sort. Maybe someone would discover something new along the way. Atari's impact on coin-operated games is at least as significant as their impact on console gaming.
  15. Forget the games for a moment. Who did their cabinet art? Look through their lated 70s/early 80s work and you'll see some of the goolest graphics ever associated with video games.
  16. Buying a used game doesn't support Sony at all. Or Sega for that matter.
  17. That's like saying that Bill Gates had a lot of involvement in The Matrix just because the Wachowski's secretary typed up her memos on a Windows machine.
  18. You're confusing "noobs" with "trolls." Take a look at this idiot's posting history.
  19. Is it true that the middle "c" is silent? I don't trust any state that uses silent letters.
  20. This is finally it. The moment when I decided that I never want to see any cute plays on the word "Wii" ever again. Wii've had enough. Nice graphic, though. Retro cool. I like the idea of turning the d-pad into a symbol for the system.
  21. In the words of Yoda: "Always two there are; no more, no less: a master and an apprentice."
  22. The 2600 Forum is full of "Boy Pac-Man Sure Sucks" threads. The Modern Gaming forum is filled with "which next-gen system will r0x0r the most" polls. It's summer re-run season on Atari Age!
  23. I know, I know. I assume he meant Gene Roddenberry was convinced, though the key was really Paramount being convinced.
