Inspired by the Ever really really WANT to like a game, but can't? thread, I ask the question: What games that were so good they surprised you? Super Mario Bros on the NES. I saw people dump quarters into the coin-op and I thought it was a crappy game. When I got a NES and played the port, I quickly found myself addicted to the game and became a Super Mario fan. The USA SMB2 I couldn't wait to get.. and ended up playing that quite a lot too. (still need to go play the real SMB2 to the end sometime) All the other sequals I enjoyed a lot too. NES Kid Icarus: Not sure exactly why but I couldn't put this down (well I did but the password feature got me going again). Genesis Target Earth: Dreamworks made this game and it is kind of obscure. Had to keep playing it. Fun stuff! edit: some others... Time Pilot (coin op, any port). Got addicting fast. Had a nice balance of difficulty. The game doesn't look like much but once you get into it, hard to put down. Phantasy Star SMS: Ok I was psyched about this game to start with. I got stuck a couple times, and called in for hints, but for some reason Sega's support group didn't even have the game yet so they were no help. After I finished the game I videotaped the ending, wrote up a hint guide for it and mailed it to the person I had been talking to there so they could answer questions on the game if other ppl called in. In return she ended up sending me this giant list of cheats/codes for most of the SMS library. Anyways it's still a great game.

Ever really really WANT to like a game, but can't?

Ballblazer. Any platform. It's debatable weither or not I ever wanted to like this game, but no version of it was ever at all interesting to me. Megaman Battle Network 3 (blue version) for GBA. Yuck. 2600 football. I wanted so bad for this to be a good game. Trash. 2600 Texas Chainsaw Massacre. *shakes head sadly* -
what is the easiest/cheapest way to upgrade 520st?
riffraff replied to kevin242's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
Easiest way to upgrade an ST? Buy an Amiga? *ducks* -
That is beautiful!

That's sick.. just a few days ago too.

Thank you sir! Edit: ok it's a copy - thx also to CPU

Not sure if this is an original or copy. Seems good if you want to fix your VCS and controllers. Any value other than that? I'm guessing this has been turned into PDF years ago.

Tecmo Super Bowl II se for genesis.. cool

Ahhh ok.. then Mine is complete too! (well ziplock bag is repro) =) How many Off yer Rockers are out there? I thought it was very rare.
-
I have a complete one. Complete Off Your Rocker? who's box/manual?
-
Nope I don't have Surf's Up. I just learned that it exists! If Surfs up would have been considered a production game, I'd have to nominate Amiga to be the hardest company to collect for in that other thread. I saw on DP that 6 are known to exist.. I hope there are others that will surface. You wouldn't happen to have Surf's Up would you? I think there was only 6 of them made, Off Your Rocker had quite a few more. Damn I thought it was something special. Ok to make up for that below-threshold item, here is something completely unrelated to atari. It's an OJ simpson pog collection with both GUILTY and NOT GUILTY metal slammers!

Don't think I didn't see that before I made my incorrect assumption! =) First 2 pics are from that cart, other 2 from "ntsc" versions. Strange that the pal version (on robin hood) seems to cut off stuff from the top, I always thought it would be stuff at the bottom that goes missing. Even being PAL, still not an easy find. It's not in DP's database either. Guess it's not unique, damnit!

I'm pretty sure it's NTSC, how can I tell for sure? Both sides seemed to play fine on my 2600. It's sure hard to follow the SQ challace.. Tough crowd!! =)

How many have this one?

This happened to me recently too and it was driving me crazy! Glad I found this thread =-)

It's the manual. I don't have a single box for the ti-99, don't even know what they look like.

I originally was going to start an auction here, but decided to just put my TI99 items up for sale. Will give an update when it's ready. The guy below really needs your help!!
