The Femalization of one of the last male franchises.

Arbitrarily assigning a traditionally white/male role to a minority/woman does not equal progress. It's a trend that annoys me. The BBC execs probably have sore backs from all the self-patting.

Personally, I am really on the fence about this. It just seems too much like giving in and going all PC or jumping the shark as someone else said. So, the Doctor is a male character. What's wrong with that? He was established over 50 years ago for crying out loud! I'm all for strong female characters, but let's leave the established characters alone..
