  1. Thanks for the links everyone. I'm going to try them all out in the next few days whenever I have time. \ You're right Inky. It's a really cool emulator that I enjoy using. I play mostly CV games on it, but like I said I can't get it my current version to go full screen on my new computer. Thanks for the link, maybe I'll just try a more current version of MEKA
  2. I've been using MekaW v0.71 for many years now for ColecoVision emulation. I just bought a new laptop with Windows 10 and I can't get it to play in full screen mode for some reason. Does anybody know of any other CV emulators I can use and where I can get one? I've heard of CoolCV here in the forums but I can't find it online. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
  3. Well the frustrating thing is I had been to the final boss many times back then but I could never beat him. Rygar didn't have a save feature or password system so once you shut it off, you had to start all over again. I hated that! In fact, I recall at least one occasion where I left my NES on all night and half the next day while I was at school just because I din't want to start all over again!!!
  4. For me it was Rygar. I LOVED this game on the NES when I was growing up. Just like Keatah, I never knew it was an arcade port until I was an adult and discovered it through emulation. For the record, I think the NES port is way better to me. Also, and this relates to a couple of threads in the Emulation forum, I never could beat Rygar on the NES back in the 80's. It was and is one hard ass game to beat! It wasn't until the modern era that I was able to beat it on an emulator using save states. Yes I know it's cheating, but I always wondered what happened at the end of this game so it was totally worth it to use save states to beat it. So tha'ts one of the advantages of emulation that Keatah so eloquently described in the Emulation forums.
  5. I've actually just gone through the same experience as madhatter667. I've been collecting AND emulating for years, but I recently moved and I'm also going to be a dad for the first time later this year. So I had to make the painful decision to sell my ENTIRE collection. I just sold it yesterday to a local game shop here in Phoenix for $1200. I had a nice sized collection of classic consoles, games, boxes ect...the only thing I kept was a NES controller that was modded to USB and a more modern USB controller with lots of buttons. Like I said I've been emulating for many years ao I have several emulators and all the roms for my favorite systems (most of which I used to physically own) and MAME for arcade games. Anyways, it was hard to sell it all off, but I feel like a little bit of a weight has been lifted off my shoulders and I'm looking forward to a future of full time emulation. I'm just trying to focus on all the pros of emulation.
  6. I have 2 tv's that all of my consoles are hooked up to via switch boxes. One 32" and one 27" CRTs. The 32" is a Panasonic an the other a sony
  7. So I just saw Game Over last night. Loved it! I haven't been on the forums much in the last year and a half so I had no idea what happened in Alamagordo last year. I was literally on the edge of my seat towards the end. It was really something else when they found carts. And not just E.T. but others as well. So yeah, great movie and it left me feeling really good.
  8. I'm with StanJr. I collect to play. If I wanted preservation, I would only emulate.
  9. Now that football is over I can finally get some things done on Sunday :)

I don't even care much for football and I still didn't get much done most Sundays.

  10. Guys, what exactly is the pen method?
  11. I usually hold the stick with my thumb and fore finger about halfway down the joystick. Only on rare occasions do I play with my thumb on top.
  12. It's just a circuit board with a chip inside both I believe. You may have to ruin some labels in order to open them, sadly.
  13. Atari Incorporated did however...and according to Wiki, today is indeed the 40th anniversary of Pong's release.
  14. "ZELDA". This messed with whatever kid bought the game and decided to name their character "ZELDA" since after all, that's the name on the game. They ended up playing a hard ass version. Or maybe it was just as hard as the first quest being as they never knew a version easier than that which they had played. i.e. it's all relative
  15. Fourth of July on a Wednesday should be illegal. They should give us the day off on the 5th or the 6th.

Could be worse. They make you work on Christmas Day if you work at the BP or Citgo.

  16. Thats crazy. Yo Gabba Gabba is totally insane though so I'm not surprised. Whoever makes that show is on acid!
  17. I have a set of Columbia Home Arcade joystick/paddle combos and I have to push the joystick to the right in order to use the fire button for paddle games. Not that big of a deal but it makes it A PAIN IN THE ASS to play Solar Storm!!!
  18. Overall they are okay I guess. I do find them to be a bit too stiff in my opinion though.
  19. Uhh...because that asshole helped change the world? Ya know, even I have discovered that sometimes in life you have to be an asshole in order to get things done. I'm a Land Surveyor, and I know that some people I work with consider me to be an asshole, but that's why I make the big bucks. That's why I get put on the really big and important projects. I'm there to get things done, not be everybody's buddy.
  20. I organize mine first by maker (ie Activision, Atari, Imagic etc...) then I alphabetize each title. So I have an alphabetized section for Atari carts, Activision carts, Imagic carts, Mattel carts, CBS carts ect... 2600Guru: Yes you made a grammatical mistake and that's okay with me. We all make them from time to time. None of us are perfect, though some of you may think you are. However, I would like to say that I file Ball Buster under "D" for Dickhead.
  21. Relax it's a discussion with personal opinions, not an argument. I know hehe. I was kind of kidding anyway. Getting older has few advantages, but one of them is being able to play the role of the crotchety old codger from time to time. You know, like "Hey you kids stay off my dam lawn!" So what I said is a reflection of how I feel ( ie E.T. gets bagged on way too much ), but I was playing it up a bit just for fun.
  22. As for my favs....Video Olympics, Dark Cavern, Atlantis, Kaboom!, Pitfall II, Turmoil, Cosmic Ark, Defender, Q Bert, Berzerk....well too many to name really. As for worst...I really don't have any to list, as I guess I like just about every game I own. And I own around three hundred at this point.
