  1. Interesting observations. It would be interesting if someone put together an "annual report" on the state of ebay sales by system. I would find it interesting to learn that Boxed Colecovision games are up, yet loose 2600 games are down. I've noticed that disk based games (especially boxed ones) by well known companies such as Infocom, Origin, Synapse, Epyx, and Sierra have all gone up lately. For a long time no one gave a rats butt about disk based games, but now they seem to be popular. I was watching a lot of IBM PCjr stuff (you know, the computer that no one cares about) that ended up going for $161 when only a few years ago it probably would have gone for $60 or less. I think it was because it had the original Kings Quest in it (which isn't rare, but everyone thinks it is), but who knows? TI-99 stuff seems to be going down in price. I've seen several UR cartridges up for auction lately that have only gone for $20 or so. Tempest Thanks for the tip on the disk games. I've been generally ignoring those over cartridge games. think I'll do alittle research on those and keep and eye out. Thanks again for the tip, I just picked up a copy of Sam & Max Hit the Road, the oringinal with CD. Listed it last night and I've already got a bid. Most action I've seen in weeks lol. http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...p;rd=1&rd=1
  2. Remember that if you build shipping costs into the item you are paying e-bay a commission on that as they calculate their cut on what the item sold for but they do not factor in how much you charged for shipping. Oh I hadn't forgotten. I figured paying a few cents for a final value fee was worth getting a sale.
  3. I had thought of the shipping prices as an issue a week ago, and as an expirement I worked some of the shipping cost into the initial price of a few items to see if it made any difference. But, didn't seem to create any more activity. What do you think sounds better, $5.00 for the bid and $10.00 for the shipping, or $10.00 for the item and $5 for the shipping?
  4. Typically the summer is a very slow time for me as well. I read on another site that eBay is at its slowest point in the last 5+ years. This month has been one of the worst that I have ever experienced selling on eBay. I think a lot of it has to do with the summer, higher gas prices and higher interest rates. A lot of people took out ARM mortgages on their homes 3-5 years ago and now the mortgages are being adjusted upward. This has caused a major hit on eBay as well as the entire U.S. economy. Yes, That seems to be it. My customers are generally from the US and since our dollar went up to the 90's it's been very slow the last month. I just had a Sega Genesis system with 8 games with boxes on, a month or two ago I would of sold that for $30 or more, this time I didn't get one bid. not to mention the increase in USPS postal rates Yes, that too. I was surprised to hear the US didn't base the price on size as well as weight untill now. I worked at Canada Post for 3 years and that's been the way we calculate prices for as far back as I can remember.

  7. Has anyone noticed sales on ebay slowing down for them? I've been listing stuff lately that 2 or 3 months ago would of sold, but not one bid now? The only things I can think of to contribute to it would be that the summer makes sales slow or that being in Canada wiht our dollar so high right now is making it less attractive to buy from here. What are your opinons?
  8. This auction is ending in 11 hours, take a look if you need to bulk up your atari collection any.

  10. It's also 20cent listing day in Canada tomorrow as well. Normally it would only be Canada only, but I guess they're going to combine the promotion across both.
  11. Cool! You can't have enough Trivial Pursuit-compatible videogame trivia cards: http://www.digitpress.com/products/gameontrivia.htm But a free download for the game is nifty! I searched all over for another type of game like this, don't know how I missed that one! But yeah, mine is free, so feel free to pass it around lol.

  13. In Canada we've always based the price on size and weight, doesn't stop people from mailing here. It only makes sense to price it based on size too, consider if you mailed a large box that was empty, it would be light but you'd be taking up a large area in the truck.
