  1. OMG! I cannot believe that I haven't thought of in game music via midi on the ST! I've been asleep for 20 years! Man alive! I've never thought of trying out my midi gear during game play! It's probably the one thing I never forget to turn off when not in use, so not even by accident could I have known. SMACKING FOREHEAD REALLY REALLY REALLY HARD! But happy that there's yet another surprise from ol fuji. Thanks for the heads up!
  2. I think the video music deserves a trip to an electronics repair place. Get them to mount a jack in the back of the chassis to accept a common adapter with the proper voltage/wattage etc. I'd say it's worth the money. Shouldn't be any more than $50 to do, but get a quote first of course. That is, if you cannot do it yourself. Got the same problem here, a broken wire that I rejoined and used heat shrink. I want to get the mod done. I "can" do it myself but my soldering skills are better suited to making pizza or throwing rocks! LOL!
  3. Hehe! That's fantastic! Loving the xc12 tape deck!
  4. I usually fire up a 7800 with cx-40s or paddles attached for 2600 gaming. I wouldn't use the prolines UNLESS they were the absolute last option on earth. Other than that it's emulation all the way on PC, Mac, PSP. One day soon I'll fire up a 6 switcher 2600 again just for full immersion.
  5. Jimmy Fallon is an Odyssey 2 or a stock vic-20 at best!
  6. This tops off the best post of 2009. CONGRATULATIONS! Stunning find! I've learned something today, too. Wives are not all bad after all! j/k.
  7. Sony could win this war instantly by letting the hypervisor & gpu out of the cage to allow for fully functional, extremely high end pc operation. I thought I'd never again buy a 360 game, but because of (and only because of) fallout 3 downloadable content I bought a second copy for the 360. I'd very much rather play it on the ps3 but this was my only choice.
  8. I'll be into it in the next few days. Just bought the 360 version so I can get the DLC. Too bad, 100 or so hours in on the PS3 version. It would have rocked to be able to play the dlc on it with 30000 bottle caps and a full armory! Oh well... Shit happens!
  9. Or we should all ask how much to send to Lagos, Nigeria and would a nice money order do lol!
  10. You REALLY need an intercooler with a 360. I've had no problems with mine 4 years now and I do blame it's longevity solely on the intercooler. Though since my ps3, it's mainly used for movies. I still shag around with halo, the marketplace and messenger however. When MS releases the next system, I'd buy again and take the extra precaution again as well. Same goes for Sony's next offering.
  11. Here's a little intuitive bit: Duke Nukem will go to Bethesda and get the fallout treatment. Betcha!
  12. Just this past week the local main thrift store put a load of 2600 & 7800 games as well as 7800 controllers & adapter. Everything but the machine... Eeeek! I did get the adapter, thankfully, but I couldn't help but wonder what they did with the 7800 console. Logic tells me that if someone bought the console before I arrived, then they would definitely know to get the adapter. Yet another thought is that they only wanted the console or maybe the people in back tested the console only for it to fail the test. Either way I would have loved to get another 7800. They were very common around here but I haven't seen one in some time. Anyways I did get the adapter and pole position 2 as well as a spare "hand cramper" controller. Woohoo! I also missed out on an original style Commodore 64 & 1541 "overhead door" combo recently from the same place. That was somewhat by choice as I could have raced back home to fetch the wallet but didn't bother. Oh I did nab a cool vader 2.6k

  14. I think the Dell mini 9 is the absolute best one for running mac os x as well. Most trouble free and functional out of the box.
  15. $6500 buy it now, starting bid of $5000!!! LOL!!! Quoted from listing: Nintendo Wii system, basically new, I didn't play it very often. Very good condition, not in box though. Comes with 14 games, including Ferrari Challenge, Wii music, Mario Kart, Karaoke American Idol, and others, all basically new, some not even played. Extra accessories included are 2 steering wheels, 2 knun-chucks, 2 controllers, microphone for singing games, handgun controller, longgun controller, battery charger and 2 battery packs. I am moving and will not need the system anymore. Very good price as new system without games and accessories is $300. Games are more than $40 a piece. 16. Yes!!! Omikron - The Nomad Soul... VERY cool game. Mix "Max Payne" up with the Blade Runner movie with a fairly neat David Bowie soundtrack and a bit of RPG gaming and there you go. That game was highly under rated. I did buy that one too.
  17. I really regret unloading my dreamcast. I had a good 100 or so games with it. (most burned of course) One game that I think is highly underrated is Wild Metal Country. I spent a lot of time with that game. It's a robo / mech sort of game but that's my taste. It's free to download for PC now from rockstar. Near 100% the DC experience using a PC and 360 controller. When I used to have parties around here the crowd favorites were: Crazy Taxi Crazy Taxi 2 Soul Caliber Gauntlet Tokyo Racing 18 Wheeler NES & MAME emulator games & many more that I can't remember... Oh yeah! Ooga Booga! LOL. What an incredible machine it was. I know many say this but if it was DVD capable there would have been one of these in every North American living room and I don't think the XBOX would have came to light when it did. I would have to say that the system, if new today, would compete with the Wii EASILY as does the Wii vs 360/PS3. The graphics, game play are that good or pretty close. Maybe I'll get another. I'm clearly missing it. As for burning, most formats are CDI. I used to use cdi2nrg (I think that was the name) to convert and then nero to burn. The titles I liked, I did buy. Yep VGA adapter is a must but s video works very very well too.
  18. HAHAHAHAHA! Well I must add to that discussion! We'll all have our nipple sticks soon. He should get a couple ink stamp pads, one blue and one red, then dip each side in it's own color and sign the boxes. Then I'll finally have a reason to use my "Nightmare on Elm Street - Freddy's Dead" theater issued 3d glasses!!! See attached!
  19. I agree fully. It kills me to see even a slight argument on AA, no matter how friendly or tongue in cheek it presents. What kills me more is knowing Curt's crisis a month or two back and how averting conflict probably trumped his own obvious need for healing. These kind of projects, profitable or not are done for the love of it. If it was that hugely profitable or adequately a good "greed feed" then I believe Atari or someone else would have probably done this long ago and maybe Curt would have done all this last year or sooner. Let's face it, it's a stimulative effect for all involved. When that stimulation is overshadowed by logistical nightmares and pain it's hard to see why those involved would want to do it again. I can verify on my own how messed up relations are with Chinese factories, agencies and the like right now. I'm trying to get some guitars made and I'll shit myself or have a heart attack yet from frustration alone. That, on top of Curt's unforeseen health crisis and you have the worst case scenario. Let's just look at the Pandora project for example. There are numerous people involved in that but the bottle necks have been many. Let's imagine the project managers, engineers and logistical people all became diverted with emergency open heart surgery at the same time. Would there be a few months delay? Yep. Even without such events, the project is well overdue now a good 4-6 months. The battery design is still not finished (last I checked), the case molds are not finalized as the battery design might demand a mold modification etc etc etc. I know I'll get my sticks and I know Curt will march forward with other projects for the love of it as we will look forward to his releases. Company, community or personal. And I know we will all put this behind us as a little over the top emotionally as well as logistically. It's a lesson for all that even the small stuff can be big stuff. Patience is probably the single most important prerequisite in these sort of things. Let's just thank God Curt is healing up and doing the garage to curb relay getting these things out now that he had just a little time to heal up. And Curt, if you read this, do a little less than you feel you can right now. Don't frigging overdo it.
  20. I came VERY close to ordering the survival edition from Amazon until I had a moment of clarity and remembered the HALO 3 legendary edition purchase I made.
  21. When I first started actively posting here I had my whole collection of atari hardware and a couple stupid thoughts besides. I reserve my stupid thoughts for actual posts now.
  22. It's like cars: There no greater rush than driving a car that's not meant to go fast, FAST. No greater feeling than driving a fast car slow. There's no greater nerdism to be had than to make a complete pile of rubbish (by today's standards) connect to the net and interface with modern technology. Just because. As well there's many of us that grew up using Atari / Commodore and read lots about the wondrous things being developed for them only to never see the light of day or us not being able to afford them when they arrived. So much vaporware but also so much unobtainable hardware for whatever reason. The natural thing for a person to do is fulfill dreams / wishes and wants even if it is years and years later. Atari for many of us is the back story of our lives and strongly represents the "better days" of our early youth when things were much more simple, care free and the discovery center of our brains were truly stimulated. Like any addiction it starts with the greatest stimulation possible from the substance, subject, object and the rest of the addiction is all about trying to recreate that first "virgin experience". At least that's the way it is for me. Just yesterday I learned of yet another planet in the Atari solar system, the Mirai!!! When will the stimulation stop!? LOL!
