Holy necropost Batman! That emulator died years before I even started this topic. 😂

I have all four now too. I have also used the Tiny Arcades as ornaments as well. I just don’t have room on the tree for EVERYTHING! 😀

And if you were wondering. The boxed items have a band of shrink wrap around them that the price tags are attached to. There are NO price tags directly on boxes or labels.

Hey group, I haven't been around here much lately, but I was hoping this would be the best place to start. I'm also planning on posting this on Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace, but I wanted to give you folks first dibs if you are interested. Please note that this is by APPOINTMENT ONLY and for LOCAL PICKUP ONLY at this time. I'm located in Lansing Michigan in a good neighborhood and plan on doing this probably through the end of October. Please contact me through private message to make arrangements. I'm mostly available weekdays from 8am-7pm but I'm flexible.
Attention Lansing Area Retro-Gamers! I'm a long time classic video game collector and I want to clear out some excess stuff. I have hundreds of games for almost every system from Atari to Playstation 3.
As you can see in the pics I have a ton of Atari games and systems including 2600, 5200, 7800, and even the 8-bit computer line. Loose games, games with manuals, and even games complete in box. Lots of controllers too.
Lots of ColecoVision, Nintendo NES, and my entire Intellivision collection, many complete in boxes.
Original X-box systems, several with a softmod dashboard, one with a Xecuter2 hardware mod-chip. Also Xbox and 360 games and controllers.
Several Boxed Wii Systems including one that is softmodded and includes an external hard drive with a bunch of stuff on it.
Gameboy, GBA, DS systems and games.
Gamecube system with Gameboy Player and Start-up disc.
PS2 Systems and games. PS3 games, .
Really too much list.
Most of this has NOT been tested, but I'll have a TV set up so you can if you want to.
I probably have 90% of it priced, if it's not we can look it up and figure one out. My prices are generally 10-20% lower than current Ebay prices. If you are collector/player, I think you will find my prices fair and a good deal. If you are a reseller, you may find that they are more than you will want to pay if you plan on flipping it for profit. I get it, believe me. I'm not looking to liquidate this out wholesale, just want to make a little cash and make some room. I have an Ebay store as well, so if I can't get it sold locally, I'll just list it.
As stated, this will be by appointment only. I want this to be low-key and no pressure. I know all too well what "open sales" like a garage sale are like! Come and take your time and get some deals!
Rules: Cash only please, generally not looking for trades. Also, no groups, just one person at a time please.
If you have any questions, please contact me through private message.

At least at this point we have the Flashback Portable which does anything 2600 I would want, and does it decently well and is probably cheaper than a GBA flashcart anyway.
-
Another probably obviously suggestion would be a Lynx Flashback, you wouldn’t even have to change the form factor much if at all.
-
One feature request I hadn’t seen yet would be the option for a link cable for two player games! I’m sure any sort of wireless connection would be out of the question for the price point though.

Hey gang. I've had this set forever, but only recent realized that it seems a little unusual and was hoping someone might have a little more information.
I guess the only difference is the inclusion of Bonk's Revenge with the promo sticker and the sticker on the outer box as well, but I can't find any others like it either on Ebay or using Google Image search?
I did find references (but no photos) of a "Bonk Superset" but that was suppose to include a Turbotap and an extra controller, so I'm pretty sure that's not this.
The reason I'm asking is I'm thinking of selling it and just want to make sure I'm good on the pricing.
Thanks

Well, I think I sort of figured it out. I found my composite cable, and it doesn't do it over that, so it must be generating some sort of RF interference. That might even be why they removed the pins? Next I'll see if it does it with the official Jag RF box.
-
This might be a weird question, but I'm having an issue. I have two different three button controllers. An early grey button with all the pins and the thicker cable, and a later black button with the "missing" pins and the thinner cable.
When I use the grey button controller, pressing the D-pad causes an on screen interference that doesn't happen with the black button. Like the kind you get with moving the RF cable around.
It seems to only happen with the D-pad and not the other buttons.
This is using a regular RF cable straight into the F connector on the TV. I have a composite AV cable somewhere, but it's not accessible, so I don't know if it happens there too.
Anyone else see this?

Yeah, they do kinda look like that. He plays with them. They have lights and motion sensors in them.

Jeez, I haven't posted on here in forever!
It's amazing what people will sell for practically nothing at yard sales. This past weekend I found this like guy at a yard sale, a Cozmo robot from Anki. This was brand new, still sealed in the box, was just released last fall, and retails for $180! I see it on the table, marked at $10 so I grabbed it.
I love these kinds of things, I have several of the Robosapian line as well as various other modern and vintage robot toys and this one is pretty neat.
He's basically like what would be if Wall*E and Eve had a baby.

The bear is from the Fisher Price Circus Train set.
The Ms Pacman is a wireless unit, the bottom is the receiver and plugs into the tv.

If you only got it a week before...
Anyway, there are plenty of retro games for the Xbox 360. Many of them had deep discounts on the Xbox Live store... last week. But you'll find lots of stuff that should fit the bill, including classic game collections and software with a retro feel.
What happened a week ago?

I think if you update your 360 you'll have a harder time hacking it (should still be possible though), but in general the system is a total pain in the rear to work with as it cannot be softmodded. Even the simplest mods require you to modify the internals in some way. I don't think there's much you can do with a softmodded 360 that you can't do with a softmodded OG Xbox anyways, so it's not worth the effort.
I was wondering about that too. Back in the day, I was ALL about the soft-modded OG Xbox. I think at one point I had at least three of them throughout the house for media streaming. Since then I've transitioned to using cheap laptops and PCs and retired them all but one. I don't really care about playing pirates, and if you can't run Kodi or at least easily run emulators, hacking doesn't seem to have much point.
-
Thanks!
Another question, it's telling me to update it. Is there any downside to doing this? I know with some consoles, you can do some interesting hacks depending on the current OS installed.
-
Hello gang. I don't post in the Modern Gaming board, well, ever. The most recent consoles I own are probably the PS2 and Wii, if that gives you any idea.
Anyway, on a whim, I bought an Xbox 360 set this weekend at a yardsale. It's a 2010 "S" model in black with a 250 GB hard drive, 2 MS brand wireless controllers with a charging stand, a Connect and a few games for $45 total.
I'm a lifelong classic gamer who mostly likes arcade style games. I don't play sports games, and FPS games like Halo don't hold much interest for me either.
I need a reason to put this in the rig.
Do I need an Xbox live account to use this thing?

I start to walk over and before I can see what she was talking about, the guy running the sale says, "Five dollars and you can have both boxes... that way I don't have to haul it back home." I glanced at what she was pointing at and couldn't get my wallet out fast enough.
Experience (which is more vast than I care to admit) tells me that this was some collectors/sellers "one of these days" dregs piles that they never got to. I'm slowly working my way through my own pile. Still, for 5 bucks, I would have grabbed it myself! That's a good amount of work though.

I already conceded that the seller using "make an offer" was silly (and possibly unintentional) but that doesn't change my opinion that it was just as silly to offer a dollar less. As far as what something is "worth" that's too subjective to even go into. I've listed things in the past that I knew I could get more if I waited, but I wanted to sell it quickly, and I'd still get low ball offers. So everyone has their own opinion on what something is "worth".
-
My pet peeve as a seller is people who message you to make an offer when you DON'T even have it as an option. I still usually reply to them though, thanking them for their interest, etc.
I try to research my pricing carefully, list it for what I think it should be, and if it doesn't sell right away, I revisit it. Sometime I keep it as is and it will eventually sell months later. I have a "store" with more listings than I can ever use, so it's no skin of my nose to relist it and most of the items I sell are small, so space isn't much of an issue either.
On the topic, why he would have "make an offer" on a $7.50 listing makes almost as much sense as asking for a dollar off! It's a BUCK, just buy it for crying out loud.
-
Haha, see you've taken care of it. For me though, I can't unsee that image.

On a serious note, that 400 is in way too nice a shape NOT to package her well. Great setup you've got there! Hope it finds a good home and safely.

Yeah, I move fast! Seriously though, I'm pretty proud of my feedback record and I don't intend on screwing it up.

Yes nothing inside that box should be moving and have bubble wrap . Then that whole box should be wrapped with bubble or peanuts inside another box .
Yep, that's the plan.
-
Forget the shipping for a moment... real issue here is the way you've got it packaged (just threw everything on top of the unit) scares the hell out of me. No way I'm the only one that feels that way. This is the kind of listing that I'd pass right by and never give a second thought to.

Shouldn't even have the power adapter up against the side of the unit without padding of some kind. Way it looks, system and the keyboard will be all marked up and smashed to bits.

Guaranteed.
Don't worry, I wasn't going to ship it that way! I just wanted a pic that showed everything all together. I'd wrap all the stuff up, I'm a good shipper, never had a claim.
But I can see your point, I'll pull that picture so people don't get the wrong idea.
-
I just couldn't help but notice that I was getting a TON of views, and like 9 watchers just since Monday, which I don't normally see. It's probably the shipping like you guys said. I'm just always paranoid about shipping. USPS has actually been VERY reliable to me. And once you start adding options I'm paranoid I've done something wrong. On more than one occasion I've screwed something up and ended up costing myself more than if I just tossed in the trash!

Is it possible to play Game Gear games on the TV?

The Retron systems are still just emulation even if it pulls the rom right from the cart.
