  1. When I do USPS from 48864 to 30907 (my zip) I get $31 for 13 pounds. Your auction calculator says $41.55.

This is *before* the Ebay/Paypal discount, so it shouldn't be that high in any case.

UPS Ground is cheaper for heavy packages- it's only $20 before the discount.

It's a pretty big box at 19x16x11, what calculator are you using to get the $31 price? Even the USPS calculator on their page comes in at exactly $41.55 for Priority 3-day.

Posted this a few days ago, and I'm getting a ton of views and a bunch of people watching it, but no sale. I can't remember when I had this much apparent interest where it didn't sell right away. I know it's probably a bit on the high end for a lot of US who probably have all of it, but I think it's a good starter set and it's in really nice condition.

EDIT: I just added the option to use FedEx Ground, let's see if that makes a difference! I hate using them though. I have to go to FedEx Kinkos to do it, and it's ALWAYS a pain. And I used to work there, so I should know!

  3. Sorry for the bump ... I was reading about this crazy old system and found your black XEGS idea via Google Images. Did you ever do this? If so, got pics? If not, do you still have the ugly XEGS?

Curious minds from the future want to know.

Well, let me tell you. LOL I tried the RIT Dye method, and it came out, not so good. After that I gave up and left it that way. It's not much of an improvement, I'll tell you that! I theory, I could try painting it still, but I never got around to it.

  4. Hey all,

I happened to meet up with a guy who has a pile of Commodore Amiga systems and accessories as well as C64s and 128s, stuff like that. I'm not into that stuff personally, so I have no idea what is collectible or whatnot, but I might grab it anyway.

Is there any sort of list of values or rarity on this stuff that might be helpful? It would nice to have some idea of values, but sitting there in his basement punching up Ebay auctions might not be the most discrete way to go about it!

In my limited experience, it seems like with C64s or 128s, you almost cant GIVE them away. Seriously, I did give one away that someone gave me, and it still took a while. But the Amiga seems to be something a little more interesting.

    Thanks

  5. I died a little inside when I saw this lot.

For Pete's sake, just dump all the boxes together, leave the photos upside down, and don't clean off that vintage cat hair.

I know a local guy who deals in games, and this is exactly how he conducts all of his business. Nothing is cleaned, nothing is tested. He pays next to nothing when he buys, and then gets insulted when you low ball him. "On Ebay, they go for this much!" The only good part is he is completely ignorant about the vintage stuff, so sometimes you can get a pretty decent deal. He's also the guy that pesters every yard sale and asks if they have games. If they even hint that they might, he really hard pressures them to dig them out and then I'm sure low balls them.

  6. Actually, what's really strange, is I have virtually no Imagic warranty cards in my collection, apparently for any system. Was it pretty common for them to not include one? I don't have an extensive "boxed" collection but none of the Imagic Intellivision games I have, have them in the box. And I can't seem to find any with my other system's games (2600 primarily) that have them either, even though I have tons from other companies.

A quick look on Ebay and most of them show no cards either.

Did people actually mail these things in? I know I never did!

If I can't find a "correct" one in my collection, would it be worth tracking one down? Should I take it out of the listing?

  7. Thought you guys might like to know, I just saw these last Thursday at Family Dollar. They are orange "REDUCED" tagged at $25.00, but during this clearance sale they are half off that for $12.50. There was a Sega system too, but I didn't check the price on that. I just got two of the CV's, and I already bought a NIB INTV set at a yard sale this summer for ten bucks to I passed on that.

Don't know if this is nation wide or just regional, but it can't hurt to check!

  8. So a few weeks ago I went out to buy a nes lot, I never posted it but it was a good lot had a boxed bubble bobble, it was a complete nes w/like 10 boxed games. I offered $90 and she called me back the next day and took my offer. Anyhow while I was there she had the mini Atari arcades. I almost bought them but didn't.

Fast forward today, I forgot all about them. She posted them on craigslist for $35. I was like oh crap I forgot about those. I looked them up and they are not real common on ebay. The ones I found sold for like $15-$20 except the Pacman. There are none sold and only one available for $50. I figured why not and went to get them.

These things are pretty sweet. I am still on the fence of whether or not to keep or sell. I know it's pretty much an easy $100 but these things fn rock!!! I checked them all for corrosion in battery terminals before I purchased and they are all clean as a whistle. They were all dusty but I gave them a quick wipe.

They all function great, have sound, clean images. They are like new. The Pacman is 1980 the rest are 2005. It is weird how they are exactly the same but Pacman was made 25 years earlier??? Don't make much sense but hey whatever lol.

I don't think that Pac-man is actually from 1980, I'd guess that's just a copyright date of some sort. They did make all kinds of Pac-man handhelds as well as a couple of watches (including one with an actual teeny tiny joystick), but not one like that as far as I can remember.

  9. So I was out doing some yard sales today. I pulled up to this house and as I was getting out of my car this van flew up. I walked in and was looking around. They had this huge G.I. Joe Space station. The lady flew up the driveway and immediately started going all over it. So I asked the guy "it was an older couple" if they had any video games, he went to look.

Meanwhile I was eyeballing the massive G.I.Joe Space shuttle. I knew nothing about it but they wanted $100. This lady offers the lady selling it $60, she refuses. She then humps around back and forth asking her to call her son and see what he will take, what the lowest price. The lady told her to leave her name and number, she replied "oh I'm not leaving", just call him now. back and forth for like 15 minutes. I was still waiting for the video games. The guy comes up w/computer games, I passed. Meanwhile this lady wanting the G.I. Joe ask the older lady to go look for other stuff in her basement, she was very rude and demanding.

So then she tries to get the old man to sell her the shuttle for less. I was like seriously come on lady. They just told you it sells up to $500 online. This lady was very rude. I had zero interest in this but I figured why not? I finally said to the guy, "Well lets get this thing over I'll give you the $100 for it". The lady who JUST offered $60 instantly replies $120. So of course I had to w/out blinking reply $150 LOL. She got mad, sighed, and said something like geesh.

She said nothing after a few minutes I said well you going to offer more. She told me "I was talking to the other lady I want to see what she says". She then tells me "you buy video games". I replied "I buy everything". She then said "well I was here first". I said "no actually I was". She said "well I was looking at it first". I told her you were lowballing them.

The man calls for the lady to come back and tells her the offers. She says "well I think highest bidder gets it". The other lady left, very pissed off. Well maybe she will learn a lesson about being rude/greedy from this. I'm not sure if I can make much of it, I am pretty sure I can at least get my $$ back. I think I can pull $350 plus s/h out of it based on condition. I had fully expected that lady to offer $175 or so and then I was going to call it a day.

  10. Found an Atari Flashback 4 for $2 at a garage sale Saturday - the unit, video cable, AC adapter, and one wireless joystick with no battery cover. I'm disappointed in the sound quality overall (and some games sound choppier than others), but I guess I can get rid of that Flashback 2 I've got sitting somewhere.

No no no no no... I'm pretty sure the FB2 is considered the best of the bunch!

  11.

That's funny, mine was free from a friend that had it in his car trunk for like 4 months and then it moved around with me for the last 8+ years. Played tennis maybe 2 weeks ago and it's still great.

Consider yourself very lucky then! The ribbon cables that connect to the two monitors are held in place with an glue that tends to break down and lose it's adhesion. There is a procedure that involves removing the parts and heating them in an oven to reactivate the adhesive. The ironic thing is that it's possible that the hot trunk of the car might have actually keep the glue sticky longer!

  12. maybe not the 10 games, but get your hands on WarioLand. It's probably the greatest and longest game of the VB. And for 50 bucks? It's worth getting a VB to discover this game, really. Until Nintendo or someone else port it on 3DS, I suppose.

It's unforgivable that Nintendo has not bothered to port the VB line to the 3DS. I'd also give my eye-teeth to see a Sega Master System 3D collection on that.
