  1. I wonder what would be involved in making some kind of adapter to get an X-arcade to work as a Vectrex controller? I know the sticks aren't analog, but it would still probably work great for most games. Any ideas? How about just building a Vectrex controller from arcade parts?
  2. No, really? I never would have guessed! LOL I guess my handle does kind of give that away doesn't it. The dual joystick control was just soooo cool though, was first time I ever played anything like it. I played Crazy Climber before I had any clue what Robotron was by the way, for some reason my area never had a Robotron. When I played CC for the first time it was already pretty dated as far as graphics but the gameplay was just so cool I kept coming back, even though I easily could have blown my quarters on Spy Hunter or Double Dragon, etc... which were very popular games at the time. Even the nice cockpit After Burner and Outrun couldn't keep me away from Crazy Climber for that long. It was a sad day when it was gone, replaced by a Golden Axe I believe or maybe it was a Rampage machine....can't quite remember. Hey, CC is probably the main reason I bought an X-Arcade dual joystick! You really can get a workout!
  3. I know my older brother had the MMM stuff, the only thing I can really remember is the awesome Moon crawler.
  4. Also, if you really are trying to sell this, you might want to change the thread title. "Entire, complete Atari 5200 collection may be sold" makes it sound like someone already bought it!
  5. All right, I admit it, I'm pretty bad at most games in general, even though I love them dearly. The worst offender to me? Believe it or not, Donkey Kong. I now have a copy of DK for 7 different systems: 2600, 5200, 7800, TI-99/4a, Coleco Vision, NES, and Mame. About the only thing they have in common is that I STINK at every single version! Must be the controllers, yeah that's the ticket, ALL my controllers suck, it's not me really!
  6. I know what you mean. I don't know if you caught my rant a few weeks ago, but I got a SNES from an Ebayer that was just gross. Have to admit, the damn thing did work, but it probably took two hours to clean everything (case, controllers, ect) to my satisfaction. There were even weird pieces of WOOD inside the case, along with 2 different kinds of soda, and some melted green candy (probably a lime sucker.) Oh yeah, I paid $48.56 shipped for it too. I gave the buyer a positive anyway, but in the comments left a remark about how dirty it was. The result? A nasty email from the seller and no feedback from them at all. From now on, I'll stick to buying systems from the Marketplace here on AA. So far, I've gotten a Sega Saturn, an N64, a bunch of 7800 carts, and some 2600 sticks from various members, and have been thrilled with all my transactions. On the other hand, I caught a lucky break on Craigslist. An empty-nester couple in a ritzy part of town sold me another SNES with 9 decent games, with ALL paperwork/manuals, ect. for $35. This one (except for the yellowed case bottom) could have come right from the store it's so clean.
  7. Not at all, you see you slide that long part up your butt, the buttons are controlled by your sphincter muscles and.....what? Was it something I said?
  8. Check out this thread LINK Bruce has a nice selection available.
  9. haha compared to some of these young tykes around here i do feel old like when i see a birthday listed on the site and they were born after i graduated Wanna feel really old? Did you know any girls who had a baby while still in high school with you? THOSE babies have already graduated!
  10. Hey watch the old fart comments, I graduated in '89 too!
  11. The first "system" my family got was a Sears Tele-Games Super Pong. Few years later in 1982, when I was 11, we got an Atari 2600.
  12. The only brand-new system I've ever owned was my Atari 2600, but it was really the "family's" that we got for Christmas 1982! I'm waaayyy to cheap to buy a game system new. On the other hand, the NES that we own was purchased by my wife when she was in college (before we met) and that is still played alot. All my other systems were from yard sales, ebay, or bought from board members here at AA! The newest system I own is a Dreamcast, so that might tell you that owning the latest thing isn't very important to me!

  14. Hey, thanks for the reply, but I already have Daytona and Nights, and wouldn't probably play the soccer games. Thanks though!
  15. True, but if you removed the labels (cleanly) yourself before sending them, I think Albert would give you the credit. Well, yeah probably, but for $.50 each, that's a lot of work for the money! I feel like a dolt now, I forgot that the OP is selling his stuff to help pay for his wifes medical bills, so store credit won't do him much good.
  16. Does Walmart still have them? Do you remember where they stocked them? In this case, I don't really care about how it plays, but they might look mighty nice ON the Christmas tree as ornaments!

  18. My cousin had one. Hell if I know how he got it(it pretty much just fell in his family's lap). I don't recall if the sticks were analog, but they had a knob mounted on top of them. Dun recall if it was a paddle-style fixed-rotaton deal, or a spinner knob. Maybe it was one of these? That's exactly what it was. I know what an MBX controller looks like, I just don't recall the specifics of the stick functionality. Here's a site that has a pretty nice write-up on the MBX system as well as the joystick.http://www.videogamehouse.net/mbx.html

  20. You could that much in store credit at the AtariAge store. They'll give you $.50 each for non-silver label Atari brand carts, just in case you needed anything from the store! why non-silver,goo- gone removes all I guess the silver labels are so hard to remove, they don't want to bother.
  21. That thing is awesome, can you swap out games or is it locked in?

  23. Just wanted to let everyone know that AtariRx is really great to deal with. I paid for this on Thursday night, and he had it shipped out the very next day. It arrived today (Tuesday) very well packed and in perfect condition. Everything was nice and clean, and is working like it should. It even had the memory expansion already installed, which was a nice surprise bonus! All the games started up without cleaning (which is more that I can say for the 7 games I picked up at the pawn shop, not ONE would boot before I scrubbed the contacts good!) Thanks again Kevin! Scott
  24. Great, if anyone finds another one, let me know!
