  1. Thats EXACTLY what I want to do. Are you missing anything by not have two buttons? Do you happen to have a pic of the inside showing how you wired it up? Thanks.
  2. I'm pretty sure they meant Gemini, the Coleco 2600 knock-off.
  3. I've seen a couple of pictures floating around of modded Trak-balls with arcade style fire buttons installed. Has anyone here done this and is there a write-up somewhere showing how to do it? I haven't taken mine apart yet (just got it today) but I'm already not crazy about the stock fire buttons! I know thatOSG does this, but how hard can it be? Do you have to solder right to the board or can you just splice into the connector? On the subject, do any of the "official" Trak-ball games even use both buttons? Thanks Edit: Well, I decided to take it apart to clean it and man was it grungy inside. The 3rd bearing is a little rough even after a little pi-in-one oil. Anyone know where I can find replacement bearings?
  4. I have fond memories of Space Jockey, mostly because it was the first new $10 game I ever saw! I remember they sold them at the drug store (Perry Drugs maybe?) and begged my mom to buy it. It's actually not that bad of a game either!
  5. His listings are pretty funny too, check out this one for a David Hasselhoff action figure. http://cgi.ebay.com/DAVID-HASSELHOFF-Knigh...bayphotohosting "THE HOFF" IS HERE! (actually, the next best thing) Here is your chance to own a miniature replica of the great David Hasselhoff. You can take him everywhere! Take him to the beach, and recreate your favorite scenes from BAYWATCH, OR take him to GERMANY with you, where you will get a lot of stares and attention (he's a big music star in that country.). Take him for a cruise in your car & relive exciting episodes of KNIGHT RIDER. THE POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS!!! NOT YET CONVINCED THAT THIS WOULD BE A GREAT INVESTMENT? HERE ARE SOME AMAZING HASSELHOFF FACTS TO CONSIDER: David Hasselhoff will never steer you wrong when it comes to saving money. David Hasselhoff once saved a small town from a wild motorcycle gang and was awarded a pig who became one of his best friends. David Hasselhoff once built a working helicopter out of rope and grass clippings. David Hasselhoff spent seven years locked inside a sauna and when he came out he could see the past and future, but not the present. During the 60's, David Hasselhoff single-handedly stopped a nuclear war by parachuting into Cuba and using his telekinesis to disable the Russian missiles. David Hasselhoff once skied through the Gobi Dessert to rescue a baby duck. David Hasselhoff keeps the Halfling village safe from the goblin horde. David Hasselhoff was once arrested for punching a handicapped woman's van. David Hasselhoff laid an egg the size of a man that will hatch on Armageddon. David Hasselhoff used to work in a tractor factory and he was voted employee of the month three times in a row. David Hasselhoff can transform into four types of car and one type of minivan. David Hasselhoff bought a killer whale on the black market and claimed it as a tax deduction. David Hasselhoff jump kicked Shredder and saved the ninja turtles from being turned back to regular turtles. Except for Leonardo. He didn't need saving 'cos he's better than the other and too good to get caught. David Hasselhoff once killed a unicorn for its horn's magical powers and plunged the world into an ice age. David Hasselhoff has been wearing a marshmallow man costume since the release of 'Ghostbusters' and when asked to remove it, he cries marshmallow tears. IF YOU'RE NOT CONVINCED BY NOW, THEN "THE HOFF" MIGHT BE TOO MUCH MAN FOR YA! IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A FUN, POSEABLE TOY FROM THE 80'S THAT IS IN GREAT SHAPE, THEN LOOK NO FURTHER!
  6. Well, I have seen a few drivers with uniforms that tight, but somehow those dudes just don't have the same effect.
  7. I'm usually not into sports and driving games, I'm starting to re-think that attitude.
  8. EDIT: Just wanted to say thanks for all that responded either here or in PM. I think I'm all set on Atari stuff for now. I have a large lot of stuff coming soon that I'll have to sort through, and then I'll figure out what I still need. I am still interested in NES and SNES though. Thanks again! Hi all, I recently posted this on Craigslist and got next to nothing for responses. Am I out of wack on this, or does this seem reasonable to you guys. Like I said, I know that I can get all of this on Ebay, but with shipping and some really stupid (my opinion!) starting bids I thought I might try the local route. If anyone in the Lansing, Mi area can chime in, that would be great! Thanks
  9. I'd also like to add that Subterrainia is one of the all time Sega Genesis greats! Isn't that a totally different game? I've never play Sub Terrania on the Genesis. The one offered here is similar to Defender, but features one on one 2D dogfights on top of the shmup levels. Doh! Too funny, I had no idea there was a 2600 game by that name!
  10. I'd also like to add that Subterrainia is one of the all time Sega Genesis greats!
  11. When I saw the title of this thread I thought maybe it was a special controller for one of those "adult" games like X-man!
  12. OK, this should be a final version. I realized that I left the unused buttons blue instead of black like most Atari overlays did, so I updated it to reflect that. Scott
  13. Ok, now if you go to my first post, the JPG that you can see is a 600 dpi jpg and the attached is a vector outline PDF. Again, if they need any tweaking, let me know as I have no way to test them in real life. Actually, I have a 5200 on it's way as we speak, so I'm trying to get ready. I also bought one of Steve/Classics multi-carts, and obviously that won't come with any overlays! Thanks again for the kind words. Are there any other games you can suggest that didn't come with overlays but should have? Looking at the manual for Fractalus, I can't believe they didn't make one for a game so complex. This uses almost as many keys as Star Raiders for crying out loud!
  14. Nice! Thanks When I printed it without scaling it was too large. I cut all the white border area out of the image and resized it to 46mm (W) x 75mm (H) which is the size of a real overlay including tabs. Here's a crappy pic to show the difference, initial test print on left resize color draft on right, real overlay in the middle. Thank you, that was extremely helpfull! Ok, I just resized it, and also figured out a way to save the PDF as outlines rather than rasterizing it like before, so it should print out even better. I changed the file in my post above. Scott
  15. Hey thanks! I'll have to post a template that I made too. The title at the bottom is in Ergoe. I found right here on AtariAge - http://www.atariage.com/2600/archives/Atar...l?SystemID=2600 The buttons I just did in Helvetica Narrow-Bold. I'd like someone to do me a favor and print it out to make sure the size is right. I based it off of some of the scans I found here, but like I said, I don't actually have any overlays handy, so I don't know for sure if the size is right. I might also need to tweak the button positions as well.
  16. I can think of several reasons. For starters, it has games you will probably never find on a cart, and it comes with 2 great joysticks that will work with your old 2600. Also, it's just really sweet!
  17. I'm looking for the black plastic spacer that came with the 32x unit. See the pic attached, you might have one laying around and not even know what it was for! This spacer creates a better fit on the Model 2 Sega. I got one when I bought mine new years ago, but I guess after moving 5 times, I was bound to lose something. I could also use a Stereo AV cable for the Model 2 as well. Scott
  18. They are on vacation from AtariAge. Maybe I'll try to make one this weekend. Hopefully it won't come out too bad. Allan Will this work? Actually, this was a best guess for me because I don't have any overlays at all to compare to. If I missed anything let me know! The one you see is a 600 dpi jpg, the attached pdf is in vector outlines and will probably print out better, but either would probably do fine. Enjoy! Scott EDIT: I noticed that most of the overlays will blackout the unused buttons, so this new version reflects that. fractalus2.pdf
  19. Has anyone made a generic template for the 5200 keypad overlays? Either Photoshop or Illustrator, preferable in layers would be great. If not, how about a link to high res scans (300 dpi at 100%) would be just as good if not better! Thanks
  20. Hello all, Long time lurker here with a question. Does anyone sell AV-modded 7800's? I know that Oldschoolgamer and Viking will do the mod if you send them your unit, but I don't have a 7800 anyway so I thought this might be a better option. Also, I'm not sure of my soldering skill level to be able to do the 7800 kit from 8bitdomain myself! Can anyone with experience tell me if there would be any difference in AV quality between a 2600 with the 8bitdomain mod versus the 7800 with the 8bid mod when playing 2600 games? I may just say heck with it and get the solderless 2600 mod since 4 switch 2600's are so easy to come by. Thanks in advance! Scott
